  • Fantastic!

  • Luther Vandross does a great version of this song. Didn't know it was quite this old though.

  • Thanks for the lesson; always thought the Impressions were the first to record one of my favorite songs.

  • That Undead Turk is a Buick :)

  • What car is that?

  • @UndeadTurk 1957 buic special

  • What a pretty record by Johnny Ace. Never let me go!! Great song!!!

  • this song is amazing

  • slow dance the nite away with johnny ace smooth tones for your bones

  • Beautiful Car!

  • this reminds me of my mom and dad

  • when you listen to the crap on now and then listen to a johnny ace record you can really hear the difference. These upcoming singers cannot compare to this kind of raw talent

    lillian

  • @hellkillakhomeini I do appreciate the talent of Johnny Ace ,and I am a huge R&B Fan ,however to say all the rest are crap is unfair and not true , what about Al Green? and if you listen closely you will find Jaheims new CD is very impressive and R. Kelly just cut an Album that is all ol skool sounds from Johnny Aces era ,Otis Redding , Ron Isley , Charlie Wilson , Anthony Hamilton , Percy Sledge ,what I am saying is although the music changes with the generations ,much greatness out there.

  • outstanding what can i say

  • Thank you for sending this to me my very good friend..xoxo

  • I love all of his music very heartfelt.

  • Although Luther also made a version of this song, I really love Johnny Ace and play it every day!

  • Curtis Mayfield did a good job on this song in thje 60's, but Johnny Ace is still the BEST. My sister loved this song. R I P Helen.

  • Johnny Ace died from playing Russian Roulette between shows on Christmas Eve! A great tragedy for a outstanding singer!

  • @Dexhu that actually happened Christmas night...Don Robey put out the previous night as if that would make all the more tragic.....

  • This is how it's done.

  • nice...i wish they still made shit like this

  • Where can I get a picture of that buick?

  • Dylan and Joan Baez did a good version during Rolling Thunder Review.... it's on bootlegs...

  • @satanasdelincuente

And thats why I am here now......searching for the original!!!

  • If I had a time machine, i would go back to that Christmas night and sneak took that gun from him. If he had it hidden in his dressing room, i be tearing the room up looking for it and took it. A good singer like him who pour his heart out to his fans deserve to be the greatest today unless if he died from natural cause or other factors.

  • tears in my eyes

  • simply great just great

  • Johnny Ace never sang a bad song.

  • The senseless death of some one who could of had such a career. He could of been one of the greatest of all time. Its just tragic.

  • IM DREAMING GREAT STUFF! TINAS~

  • Great song , great arrangement , great singer

  • I hope everyone catches the message to be SAFE with weapons, They are NOT toys like we carried playing cowboys and inidans in the 50's & 60's. Johnny, rest in peace!

  • Very soulful. The saxophones remind me a little bit of "Eddie My Love" by the Teen Queens. The Buick is a '55.

  • Man! What a Beautiful song !!!!

  • They don't make songs like this anymore

  • @DebiNga The closest to 50's-ish song i could find that was made in 2010 is called "As I Walk" and its on my channel, check it out, i think it deserves more that 30 views...

  • That looks like a 1956 Buick Special, my dad's got a two-tone red w/ a white top '55 Buick Special he just put a new interior in that bad boy

  • The Impressions also made a big hit off this in 1961 or 62.

  • Superb song. Superb performance. Boy, was he special!

  • yeah its a shame he killed himsefl playing russian roulette....

  • He apparently wasn't playing russian roulette but instead was being extremely careless believing that there were no bullets in the chamber of his own gun and saying to someone while he pointed at his own head, "see, its not loaded" and the gun went off and the rest is a very sad history.

  • @winsome1235 Well according to reading, they say he was a bit tipsy that night which does not justify him pulling a gun on himself but That just what happened.

  • @itskitaboo Yeah - That's what THEY said - he was tipsy and pulled a gun on himself. You never know what really happened. People could kill people back then, tell the cops almost anything and get away with it.

  • @CheckMate657879 people in Hollywood can STILL tell cops anything (Charlie Sheen, OK Simpson) and get away with it.

  • I was 16 and riding in the rumble seat with my highschool buds when we heard the news that Johnny Ace had died playing Russian Roulette(murdered I think). we stopped the car got out and our eyes got all watery.(men don't cry! at 15)

  • my dad loves this'

  • Great to see this and other Johnnie Ace songs on U--Tube. Leo

  • My parents got married off of Johnny Ace music. They are divorced since the late 80s but if I played these cuts by Johnny Ace it would bring back memories to my dad.

  • LOve this recording x Thanks Johnny

  • Fucking nice car! What the fuck is that and what year?

  • A Buick- either 56 or 57.

  • yeah, maybe you are right. I was thinking 1955 when I saw the picture. Not many people I knew could afford a ride like that back then.

  • You make me think my ol-Pan Head. 60s, 70s, 80s. O well, just a beat up ol biker now. Always Chopped, Rigged and Up-sweeps. Nothing on there you didn't need.

    Those we're the Days. Leo

  • One of our brothers is still riding a Panhead. I don't want to jinx him, but that thing has run for a full 8 months w/o breaking down. I'll keep my 95ci twincam evo, swingarm, and electric start. He's got it in a hardtail frame too. His ol'lady's tush must be made of cast iron. Mine starts bitching after 50 miles.

  • I always felt that my ridgid Pan's was about as good as my sporty's. I've built a few. I liked them light though. Ed

  • oldsmobile 88, circa 1955-56, similar to the buick roadmaster 1950-60. I had the privaledge of owning a buick roadmaster.

  • WHAT A GREAT SONG..FOREVER JOHNNY ACE
