@7elefantsintree actually if you listen to the original song she is singing ("gloria" by laura branigan) it is sung with an accent so stacy tried to sing it like the original ;)

@starsweet4 You may be right about the accent. It should be noted however, that Stacy was in fact missing her front teeth. This would make it vitually impossible to pronounce the letter R. That could make her sound like she is singing with an accent too.

Technichally Stacy was still 7. The pilot originally aired January 1 1983. Three months before her 8th birthday.

I remember this one vividly...gloria was sometimes a bitch..lol. I hated her as a kid..But I loved Toy Soldiers and love Martika Now. Hell we were kids....and back then..You reenacted this shit on the playground...Oh how I remember how innocent we were then...lol

This is awesome. I think I've seen every episode through the season Stacy left - and maybe a few after that because I grew out of it and once all the original cast members left, I really didn't care for it anymore. However, I have never seen this pilot episode. I would love to find the entire episode posted somewhere to watch...

The Beginning) you'll see the story line. Basically, they weren't listening to Stacy because she's little.
