Thank you very much John for a very good and thorough lesson in painting water, trees and mountains. You are very talented and kind to show us how to paint. I am a 70 year lady and I have learnt a lot from you. God bless you. Your love for nature and its divine beauty clearly shows in your pictures.
Your attention to detail is so appreciated.....and comments (such as sap green and aliz being a substitute for burnt sienna) from an experienced painter are invaluable.
I have no intention of copying Bob Ross. I am a real artist. These clips are only instructional tidbits for others to learn from. Obviously, you don't need any lessons.
The 3D effect is truely brilliant. Out of all the vids I've seen, this is the best. As a learner, I feel I have to buy this skill. The overall picture is beautiful. I-Want-to-Paint-Like-That!!!
The mountain reflections would not be shown in the water if the mountains are far away. As an artist if you wish to put the mountains in your painting, do so. It is an artist's license to include what he/she will include in each painting. Thanks for your input.
these were great tips for me but i tried to paint the wet water and everyone agreed that it looked better with out the water being distorted.......... thanks for all your tips they helped me alot
Art is subjective. That is why there are so many different artists. What looks good to one person, will not to another. The point of this video series was to teach a technique. It is up to each artist to use the techniques learned within the artist's own style. Other technique videos will teach different techniques again with the same goals. Thanks for learning the technique. Perhaps in another scene or another part of your art, this technique will provide you the effect you desire. -JGH
Very informative! I'm working on a peice right now and I'm having difficulties with the river scene. This helps me out greatly. The only comment I have about his painting and maybe he didn't do this because of the educational value, but he forgot to put the mountain in the relection. =)
the most instructive videos ive seen on youtube concerning the wet on wet technique (and i think ive seen about all of them). i love bill alexanders style of painting, i do wish there were more of HIS vidoes on you tube, besides the 2 minute clips that are on now. anyway, thanks alot......... you should be getting paid!
Just what i was looking for to paint wet water thx.good tuition!!!

Very cool. Watching you work is just too much fun.
When time allows, we're going to do a
type of stop motion/time lapse video of us painting.
Peace and Happy Painting to you too, Mel -N- Dan
