@sokodad lmfao.....i'm so sorry sokodad, don't mean to hurt your feelings but i know exactly what you mean, it just came out funny. I feel ya dude. rock on!
theses guys should have been alot bigger then thay was back in the 80s. thay rock! this is the real deal right here boys and girls. 80s rock was the best rock ever made hands down.
Man...there were several bands like A.D. that "had it" but too late. Anyone heard of Wildside....Cats n Boots...etc?!? Never get tired of the 80's Metal!! Graduated in '87...that's my excuse. Love the new rock too!! Rock on ya'll!!
@KTBARNETT yep dang good bands and they deserve more acknowledgement. I put up Jetboy Don't Mess with My Hair on my channel and Coast to Coast by Cats In Boots. I'm 15 and I'm proud to say I'm a hard rocker (:
'Bout every 5 years I'll break out the CD and play the crap out of it till I'm sick of it, put it, and break it back out in another 5 years. Whole album rocks! Love Sam Kinnenson on the CD.
Great song! I remember when they were called the Persuaders, then Babylon, and finaly Babylon A.D.. The guitar player, Ron Fresky was my friends guitar teacher and was super cool. The singer is a great singer but was WAY stuck up!
You say Hannah Montana-i fucking punch you in the face
92% of teenagers have turned to Hip Hop and Pop.If you are part of the 8% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this message to another 5 videos.DONT LET THE SPIRIT OF ROCK DIE!!
@atreyu5526 I like all era's of rock, including grunge. i know most 80's fans don't, and usually have a strong hatred towards grunge. Which I never understood. I feel that all era's of rock have something to offer. Though 80's is obviously the best ;-)
(continued) Of course, just because grunge came along at a time when hair metal was growing stale, that doesn't mean grunge is better or cooler than hair metal...by the mid 90's, the grunge movement had reached its own sell-by date, and then it was nu-metal's turn to provide the vital injection of new blood.
All were important phases in the evolution of rock 'n' roll music, and all should be enjoyed in their respective musical contexts. Start with this tune if you like...it's pretty kickass!
@garethac81 and yet none of this deterred PanterA from becoming one of the biggest bands in the world in the 90's!!!! They had the talent to adapt.....tastefully.
Pantera were a great band in their prime, but they lived out their hair metal phase in near-total obscurity, which made it much easier to start over with "Cowboys From Hell". Bon Jovi deserve the most credit for surviving the death of hair metal, because they were one of the biggest bands of that scene, and yet when Van Halen, Mötley Crüe, Whitesnake and the rest all tumbled down the charts in the 90's, Bon Jovi kept the hits coming.
@garethac81 and they NEVER forsake the guitar SOLO.......a fatal error of both grunge and nu-"metal". Alice n' Chainz started out as a sleaze band too!
Performing a song without an extravagant guitar solo is not a "fatal error"...and it's rather petty to overlook grunge and nu-metal for that reason alone. Don't get me wrong - I love a good solo - but there's more to making a great song than putting a high-pitched "widdly-widdly-screeeee" in the middle!
@garethac81 I respect your opinion but I think grunge should have been overlooked in favour of the florida metal scene which spawned way more interesting bands.
If you're referring to Florida's death metal bands, I must disagree. There is far less creativity and originality in death metal than grunge - death metal has always been overpopulated with bands that sound too alike, all trying to "outevil" each other and unintentionally becoming massive self-parodies of themselves in the process. And the "growling" vocal style is just plain silly.
@garethac81 yeah you're right scenes are garbage......but still the florida scene did spawn a few bands such as Morbid Angel, Death, Cynic and Atheist.........who were on the cutting edge of music let alone metal..........moreso I would say than the "screaming trees" or mudhoneypuddlegreenriverstoneycreek etc. ..... Mother Love Bone were a good band though ! ...obviously just my humble opinions.......
Grunge was more interesting because it gave artists a broader palette to work with, absorbing influences from punk, metal, classic rock and indie. Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden all had their own distinct sounds because they were inspired by different influences on the grunge style. Lyrically, it was also very fresh, because grunge allowed bands to explore much darker and more personal issues after years of being stuck in "ooh baby, lick my love gun" hair metal territory.
I think both the 80's and Hair Metal was about excess, more money, more sex, more booze, more drugs, more money. And while there was obvious some of those things in grunge, it was more about dulling the pain than enjoying the pleasure. And I think by 91 when Nirvana started to hit it big with their 2nd album, society and the younger generation was ready for what grunge had to offer, i think that a big reason why a lot of kids dumped hair metal and went to grunge.
@pdlost991 They went to grunge because they were a bunch of whining wimps who spent all day complaining about how unfair life is. No bath + no balls = grunge.
Some people say that 90's grunge sprung up because 80's hair metal was devoid of talent. That isn't true - there were a lot of talented hair metal bands. Unfortunately, too many of them looked and sounded EXACTLY the same - Babylon A.D. could easily be mistaken for at least a dozen different acts from the same era. There just wasn't enough originality to keep the scene alive, and grunge was the necessary antidote, bringing a fresh sound and new ideas to put rock back on the cutting edge.
FUCKIN' UNREAL RIFF,GREAT lyrics, one of the best releases of the end of the 80's.BABYLON A.D. Delivers the goods in a dirty, sexual, well thought out lyrically motivated sing along hard rock/metal assault thats very addictive & remains in your mind 4ever.BABYLON A.D. Hey, If You like this song, visit my site! I have 80s hairmetal bands music videos like Babylon A.D., W.A.S.P., Firehouse, Hardline, Badlands, Heaven's Edge, Roughhouse, and many more. Go To:
Say what you will about 80's metal, but it created some great riffs, like the opening riff to this song. I remember hearing this when it was released and thought "Great, another flash in the pan band, but damn...what a great riff."
It's probably just somone who is trying to show how smart he is by reciting info about string theory from a book he read, or maybe he just heard a recorded a national geographic documentary and wanted to get his 15 minutes of fame... the artist of the song is very good, good song as well, which is the reason I visited her.
this music was back then and is still today my favorite, musci like this makes you feel alive...and damn how can you not wanna rock after hearin' this and i'm with whoever said fuck rap....this music has heart
