We had two of these( a little newer) that we got when the fire dept. took over EMS from the police dept. The one had a slide bolt lock on the outside to keep the rear doors shut
Very cool! Minneapolis General (later becoming Hennepin County General) Hospital in Minnesota used those in the 60's as well. They were light blue lower, white upper. Very cool. Chosen at the time because they were a fraction of the price of the newer Cadillacs.
The Medical Center in Macon GA ran these or something very similar in the late Sixties. I have a picture of an ambulance that crashed at the intersection of Pine Street near the hospital.
hell this the best ambulance they have its the advanced life support unit the fat guy driving i would love to see him on a real call if you can get him away from the hamburger joint long enough.lol
Nice looking ambulance. I've never seen an International used as an ambulance. Very nice. It has all the gear one would expect in an ambulance. Sweet!
SWEET Rig!!! Wonder what she has for an engine!!! Well first & foremost it HAS to be a V8!! You don't usually put straight sixes in applications like these.

Thankfully, nobody was having a heart attack at the Wendy's. "Quick, we need an ambulance!" "Sorry, this one's retired."
