Grandparents of course were big fans, i kinda always ignorantly laughed and rolled my eyes at the black and white comedians.

I was maybe young and ignorant. Couldnt watch anything before my time, you know young folk.

After my grandfather passed i spent alot more time with my grandmother. She has been sick as well.

One night i happened to watch a DVD with her she had and was laughin my butt off.

Some of the funniest stuff ever.

I dont see how if given the chance anyone could say any different.

It is truly tragic that outsiders, the hanger ons and so-called 'friends' were instrumental in the dissolving of this team. While any partnership will never be perfect these two, like Bud Abbott & Lou Costello and Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy had a chemistry that is indeed very rare and sorely missed today in the entertainment world. Lemmon & Mathau were the last it seems.

Here's some Martin and Lewis trivia: Many people thought that Martin could't make it without Lewis. Martin ended up with a great TV show and,at one time, was the largest individual shareholder in RCA stock.

It was Lewis who let us know that Bing Crosby and Bob Hope never liked each other.

I think their writers (all of them on all different projects) wanted dean & jerry to stay together as well. Just listen to the lyrics of the songs that were written (especially ones near their break up)in ones like "Side by Side," "We Belong Together" and "Pardners" and so many others. It seems like writers were hoping that if d & j sang the words, they'd listen to the meaning of them. Big shame it didn't work out that way!

Well, Dean is gone but we still have Jerry. He's touring Australia right now and I saw him perform last week at the Gold Coast Convention Centre. He's aged a lot physically of course but all the spirit is still there. Great show!

Tienes razon en cuanto a que en Chile ya no pasan peliculas de Martin y Lewis, y ojala le quede cuerda a Lewis para rato, es una leyenda del cine y un maestro para los comediantes de hoy, que de originales tienen poco. I remember the Colgate Hour,at that time it was on Sunday night and many different artists would host it for a night. When Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis hosted it, my 5th grade teacher would give us no homework for the weekend. She also loved them as we did.

This is an excellent tribute to Dean and Jerry. Congratulations. Now, I don't want to start an argument, but whoever said Jerry hated Dean is woefully misinformed. Jerry loved Dean, even during all those years they weren't on speaking terms. And as for the claim that Dean had no money when he died--not true! He was the largest individual stockholder of NBC, for crying out loud. Dean had his problems at the end of his life, but money wasn't one of them.
