@MissTandE ---you probably could but the problem you might have is as you're making them, if they are uneven as you get to the end, you would have no way to adjust them if you glue them as you go. Also if you glue the loops, sewing up the middle might be very difficult. I have found that placing an alligator pinch clip or something like that as you make the loop will hold it in place as you go...hope this was helpful!
@KierstenLeeann I have used all size ribbon with this technique from 3/8, 5/8 7/8 and 1 inch ribbon. Most popular is 7/8 size ribbon. Hope this helps!

i made it by paper lol i did people try it watch it by step by step 0n each 4 and when your done coler it all the colers u want look at it its a bow made out of paper kol right
this video was the most helpful.. i have been at the different ways to make this bow, and you maade it look just like its supposed to be.. thx it was so easy!!!
