I usually don't care all that much about tearing and whatnot, but this has to be one of the worst cases of screen tearing I have ever seen. Maybe it's because I'm spectating and not playing, but the tearing is beyond awful.
I am basically looking for a Sim City 3000 replacement. Would this be it? does it have a similar set up where you can just build your city without missions?
@mizeradm how about sim city 4? i think it's the best sim city BY FAR. Anno / Dawn of Discovery isn't really Sim City like at all apart from the fact you build stuff.
@mizeradm It's radically different from Sim City 3000 since you can't pause and build. You can slow down and speed up time, but you have to hold down a key to do so. There is a campaign but you can play continuous games with specific victory conditions (or none at all) and you can choose what NPCs to play with (or none at all). Instead of zones you have to deal with population classes. Different population classes require different goods to advance and it's focused more on logistics.
This game is very good. It's very rewarding to have a large city with a bunch of supply chains going smoothly. Also turn off post-processing in the options to get rid of that stupid blurry/bloom look.
@Jackalofdeath No, but it's much more popular among the Germans. The developer is German and the Anno series is most popular among the Germans as well. Maybe it just hasn't been promoted as much for English people.
