@lllboysenlll -- hip-hop is a culture that began at DJ Kool Herc's house parties where he spinned records on turntables and people would dance and created breaking, or b-boying, which stands for "break boy" b/c the concept of bboying is to dance to break beats (which explains why these cats arent dancing but rather just doing tricks, cuz they have no breaks, for one. That song is garbage). So Djing, breaking, and then emceeing and graf all became part of hip-hop culture.

@lllboysenlll - then music expanded from soul/funk/break beats to hip-hop records and a new dance was created in the clubs in response to hip-hop music. Buddha Stretch called it "hip-Hop dance" in an interview b/c it was being done to hip-hop music, and the term spread. Hip-hop dance is it's own style that is also widely misunderstood thanks to MTV, LA-style choreo and shows like ABDC. Look up MOP TOP and elite force crew if you're curious. Freestyle is done in each of these dances, improvising.
