This maybe seem like a joke but think about it!? What did our ancestors do? They didint lift weights but what they did on the fields like cutting tatch etc kept their body in motion. Kettlebells is the way to go.
whats great about them is that its not focused on muscle isolation. in other words you dont use it to get bulky, you use it to gain strength and stamina. I started off lifting weights in a gym for 5 months. and saw some improvements. but once i started using a kettle bell, my all around fitness was improved. i was in better shape, i had better core, my stamina was great, and i was cut.
to all you people criticizing the guy in the video, why don't you give do it then? You're not proving a point by talking shit from behind a computer screen. Kettlebells are much harder to handle than barbells or dumbbells because the weight is in the center rather than on opposite ends, making them good for explosive movements like cleans, jerks etc.
my school has 12kg 16kg 24kg and 32kg kettle bells the 24kg is about 53lbs. for starters i would start with one arm at a time on everything but if you are looking for an intense workout use 2 when you are used to them. these things are amazing!
Hello, I filmed Vadim doing these Kettlebells, so can answer a few questions on here. The Kettlebells were 24kg if I remember correctly. The drums in the background were from another martial art (Kung Fu I think), and were nothing to do with the SAMBO.
these idiots knocking on kettle bells should try sticking to a kettle bell program to see and feel the results instead of trying to do what eveyone else is doing.. capoeira for ten years and nothing has improved my performance like these little cannonballs with handles! so shut your whining weaknesses up.. lol wow!
KBs are awesome, but there are criminally expensive here in the states. I use KBs a lot and have some very heavy bells. For as functional as they are its all about your understanding and education with them. I know how to really use big heavy dumbbells in the way that the oldtime strongmen did, stuff I don't even see on youtube, the rare times I am in a public gym, peope ask me where I got certified to use dumbbells, lol. KBs USED to be ALL over the USA in the early 1900s, so did persian clubs.
kettlebells are a good tool for strength building but I think they are overrated and thats why they are overpriced..but awesome training you do.They are now hot on the market but not really necessary for developing strength. Great VId by the way
It's not necessary to criticize this for not emphasizing strength development since it's aims are much broader and are as concerned with stamina as strength. These are good for fighters as they develop the ability to last during a match and develop useful strength not useless bulk. And about being overpriced - don't buy them. Go to a metal worker with 1" + steel bar and have them bend an end to form a handle. Get some bull-dog collars and you have 2 "kettle-bells" for less then $100. Cheers.
And I should add - my "kettle-bell" idea allows you to add whatever weight you want. Put 35lb. of plate on them or 135lb. and everything in between. All for the sub-$100 of having the two loading-pin/handles made.
Thank mate...One mate of mine brought 24kg,18kg to our gym so im doing some with them...
But do you reckon that you can have the same result with dumbbells. Just doind the movements like you would with kettlebells? and if there is only a small difference, is it justified? thanks mate
They're cheaper & easier to find. kettlebell handles shouldn't be too difficult to find though. To fully replicate the classic Russian routines, & they're seriously effective, you need the classic Russian tool - a kettlebell. The linearly aligned distribution of weight is important for the centrifugal forces. Also, flipping the kettlebell to rest on the forearms is important for many exercises. The way it's made makes the 'bell easier to handle. If 'dumbs are all you have don't worry
I bought 2 for under $55... Australian dollar by the way. If it costs over $100 where you are O.o.... [then again, I bought lighter weights. The 16kg and above were still under $100 for two]
But, yes. It's stupid when people criticise something for not emphasising strength. I have seen long judo [unfortunately, there's no sambo here] fights with a strong person versing a technically-correct person with endurance. Guess who won :)?
no kidding, it looks kinda heavy, but is it like 15 pounds or like 50 pounds or what... it looks kinda not real easy but he kinda makes it look easy... the drums were too loud on my computer speakers they sound not so good
Vadim is using compition bells in this vid they are made of steel they are all the same size but hollowed out to make them different weights. the other types are cast iron and are usually cheaper however they can crack and break however they have thigker handles that the competition bells which also helps with building grip strenght

Kettle bells are stupid. Also do that without swinging.
Craydon 1 year ago
@Craydon
The swinging strengthens muscles dumbbells can't do... also, it's more realistic for fighting etc. Dumbbells are dumb :P.
SupremeCommanderSil 1 year ago
@SupremeCommanderSil The swinging is fucking cheating, you can shove those kettle bells up your ass.

There are four kind of kettlebells that you can buy in Russia: 16, 24, 32, 64 kilograms.
I have two 16 kg kettlebells at home, these two on video looks like bigger, than mine, maybe 24 or 32 kg.
Check google or wikipedia how to convert kilograms to other weight.

thanks dude ur cool. 16 kg is 35 pounds haahah thats the kind i want, and will get soon.
