@b87clr , I was not trying to compare the Skyline to any VW, what I meant was to reply to a comment that it looked quite similar to a Datsun B210, I just wanted to say that it is not strange since they are from the same era and made by the same company.
Hmm, not sure about that. Looks more like a 69 Ford Torino & a Datsun B210 Honeybee had a fugly child. Still interesting, strong looking. Japanese car design was still "feeling" itself out during the late 60's and early 70's, some good, some not so...
the nissan skyline, especially the GT-R lineage, has been definitive in redefining japan's auto industry. I do like japanese cars and are beyond small, ecnomical models.
kenmeri skyline is legendary in japan, and now many car enthusiasts around the world are beginning to appreciate them. true, these cars don't have the racing lineage of the hakosuka skyline, but they look way cooler thanks to the mopar inspired styling
no lets face it , my country produce the Spyker and some of volvo and your country >?
And yes the new US cars for nxt year 2009 the are like the the REAL us cars like the use to be, with DISIGN , an no Japanese cars are boring to see, since the 1980s the havent change the models
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I realy dislike japanese cars, first they wanted to look like mini American cars and now days the have totaly no disignt at all , most of the Japanese cars
And nowadays most of Japanese cars have no design?
You're without a clue, haha.
Today considering some priority factors like fuel efficiency, easiness to drive based on hydrodynamics or human engineering, every car is forced to be heve more or less similar look.
Look at Italian cars! Certainly they have cool appearances but are regardless of practical use. Who wants to use them for daily life driving?
@Magico Actually we call the F150 what it is...a piece of scrap metal pressed into car shape...nothing more, nothing less...and the skyline is a simple classic! just beautiful!
@Magico the F-150 sells more due to avaliability. Here in the U.S. only the R35 chassis is legal any other R series chassis is ilegal that is why the F-150 can sells more and seem more popular in sales. It doesnt change the fact that the skyiline is more popular.
@Magico ford.com/trucks/f150/ as you can see from the link, the Ford F150 is classified as a truck not a car...looks just like a Holden Ute or FPV Pursuit that you can find on the roads in Australia, but you guys call it a pick-up truck. pretty much the same thing mate
I have no idea mate, perhaps there's some sort of database in which you can find this song. I'll take a look too, if I find it I will let you know. Greets.

Toyota had all the japs beat with the 2000GT. Nothing happing until the NSX. After that everything is just cookie cutter.

70's Japanese cars, especially Nissan/Datsun seem to have largely been influenced by Western design.

Reminds me of a Opel Manta, or a Ford Capri, the design is a resemblance of the american muscle cars of the day.

Mini American cars?
Yeah, American cars had 4 tires, 1 hood, 2 side mirrors so did Japanese cars.
Did you have cars of so original design in your country that had no tires, no doors, no bumpers?
fy6717 4 years ago
And nowadays most of Japanese cars have no design?

fy6717 4 years ago
Actualy many American cars have recently come to be similar to Japanese ones in design.
That's because they found the meaning of a balance of designs and practicality.
