  • A really classy act - very much like the 'Three Degrees.' The song isn't terrific , perhaps they needed to put more energy into it, it is too laid back until the last chorus i think.

  • Is the morse code supposed to say something? I don't understand morse (and I'm not willing to do so). I just want to know what the morse code in the song means.

  • Adorable!!!!!

  • So good! So up to date. Without a chance against UK and France, and Greece was much fresher, but should have come 4th.

  • Wonderful song and terrific vocal performances - probably too good for Eurovision, which is why they didn't win.

  • Cannot post someone once this in a proper quality? ;-(

  • Pink always gets Mother's vote!

What a great performance... in 1977 the BEST Eurovision SONG!!!!!!! But the time wasn´t ready for.

    ;))

    ;))

  • A great group - real professionals, but the song is weak and not up to their high standards. They deserved better. Ronnie Hazlehurst is indeed greatly missed.

  • A famous group, nice song and coreography but only got 8th place...Germany had tried almost everything to win the Contest but it seemed almost impossible for them to lift the trophy. 5 years later, in 1982, they finally won it.

  • es adorable XD lovely ! hehe

  • Ich liebe dieses Lied.

  • super song aus deutschland

  • ..a modern eurovision classic and mostly remembered actually-so in the end SC did win the contest (of time)..

    O:-).

  • :D the teapot choreography ... legend!

  • I always wonder why they chose to compete in eurovision. They already had their success in the charts. Entering the competition and not winning it did more harm than good to their career.

By the way, I wonder if young people at this generation know what a telegram is.

  • I'm 25 years old and I remember no Internet,no mobile phones, written letters were common and your Visa card was ironed. People maybe 7-10 years younger than I don't remember anything else than having the Internet and mobile phones around and the Visa card being scanned. Well the Internet has been around now for around 15 years and do you know of anyone who plug their internet connection into the wall via phone? No now it's all wireless. Time changes so fast.

  • I don't know much about it but telegram is the communication system that Morse did invent and each short, long, short or whatever the combination of clicks that were used did represent certain letter.

  • Ah that was the weird thing about Eurovision in the early days. Established artists like Lulu and Cliff Richard, Sandy Shaw entered; I presume they saw it as their patriotic duty.

Classic disco sound at its best!

  • Super Lied.

  • I remember how much this impressed me in the previews. Deserved top 5.

  • 70s disco music with a full backing orchestra! Fabulous!

  • A good disco song. But I find it funny, that Switzerland and Austria sang in German that year, but Germany didn't.

  • up to this year there was the language-rule again. however, germany and one other country published their entries befor this rule has been announced so at least they were allowed to sing in english. (but austria and switzerland had to sing in national language of course).

    And it's not funny, it's a SHAME.

  • The best that year

  • Best song ever on Eurovision Song Contest! Thanks for posting! LOVE IT!!!

  • Nice disco sound. Deserved to be the winner or 2nd

  • @fhbbzzr

-How about "Fly, Robin, Fly". Then ther was a certain No.1 in the U.S.: "Get up and boogie"-only a disco classic esential-and: both album and singles topped billboard charts in america! Geil, gell? :-)O

  • There is a Czech version of this song made by Hana Zagorova. Significanly more dynamic than this one.

  • If don't know who I'm writing about just don't be lazy and consult i.e. Wikipedia. Answering the second question. Well, in 1977 for many Europe ended with West Germany border.

Du könntest noch was lernen...

    Love, Chris

  • Ja Das is Toll - lecker :P

  • just wonderful...a legend! Try also out Eurovision 77'song the same yearfrom Belgium, band DREAM EXPRESS. Here we have the peak in disco-music & its costumes & choreography, unique! pat (Switzerland)

  • simply fantastic bravo bravo

  • I love this song, It's catchy!

Alles chic. Gute Laune.

  • I'm sorry to hear about Ronnie Hazelhurst. This is a good song, it deserved better than 8th place- thanks for posting it, tasosk3. Definitely one of Germany's better entries.

  • As I've written in my presentation of this video, Silver Convention were a very popular group at the time, with classic disco hits like "Fly, Robin, Fly" and "Get Up and Boogie". So, I guess this is yet another proof that already famous acts entering Eurovision are by no way guaranteed to win (see also Cliff Richard in '68 and '73, Baccara in '78, or Tatu in '03, to name a few).

  • RIP Ronnie Hazlehurst. The conductor of this piece died on 1 October 2007. He was closely involved in Eurovision on the British side for many years, as well as being the composer of many popular British TV themes.

  • Really? Didn't know he passed away yesterday. Sad news!
