i have a 990 selectamatic 1971 model with 10700 hours and still running great like a brand new!!!!!!!!!! i think that david brown are the greatest tractors ever made......personally never change them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
@slas42 They got a bad name (not just in Holland) because they made 1920's engines with only 3 main crankshaft bearings run at 2000rpm. The resulting vibrations fatigued the crankshafts in heavy use, which made them break...
my granddad had one of these fine machines.i don't know which year it was but it was the best on his farm.i loved the 4 cylinder engine always started first time with out any problems, the machine was in great nick and my granddad sold it he retired from farming 10 years ago.i did have a big soft spot for the tractor and i hope one day i will get a 990 selectamatic.Best of british the rolls royce of tractors.
I had one of these in the same color as well. It was a 1970 model, and it was one of the best tractors I owned and/or operated. Would like to get another one sometime.

Many farmers here in holland, were unable to deal with the selectamatic system, requiring you to DB was given a bad name in holland.
DB was a modern tractor for that time

A really well balanced tractor, just the right power/weight ratio. Now they seem to need 100hp to pull 4 furrows!
