Its crazy when you go to a mall and see security guards with pepper spray and a stick WTF. And people think they are safe? A criminal with bad intentions will have his way for a long time before police arrive. People please wake up. ALL security guards should be armed with minimum 9mm caliber handgun. And in the backroom ar style weapons is a must.
More guns=less crime. Switzerland requires able-bodied men to be armed, as does a city in the US. Both places have very low crime rate. Whenever there's a gun ban or a strengthening of gun laws, crime increases. I think the saying "For evil to triumph, all that is necessary is for good people to do nothing" applies here. I probably messed up the saying a bit you get the point. Disarm the innocent, and they are merely moving targets for mentally unstable criminals.
Gun control is a God send to people who want to victimise you. That’s why these massacres take place in gun free zones like columbine Virginia tech or a shopping mall, instead of a police station army base or NRA meeting.
@BrothersFreedive Oh... Sorry.. We have laws about people with mental retardation not owning guns.. So you don't have to worry.. You can't get one.. So nothing to worry about..
gun free zone?! so that means i can go in there with a gun and kill as many people that i possibly can and no one can stop me untill i run out of ammo? hm, good golly gosh that sounds like a good time! i better load up and grab some ammo belts cause im goin' all day!!

@imnazhole True, True. But there are only three ways I'll accept my death.

@sawa1sy I can't remember the exact case number. It was in DC a few years ago. Two women called 911 that someone was breaking into their house. They were raped for several hours, and the police never showed. They sued the DC police, and the judge decided that the police have no responsibility to protect any particular individual.
Did any of you ever think about what would have happened on 9/11 if airline passengers were able to carry. 9/11 probably would not have happened and we would not have been at war for the last 8 years...
Yes. I think I've resolved my case. Oh, and I don't know about Ft. Hood but I don't see alot of armed guards in Ft. Lewis either. I wonder why, maybe because even our soldiers have been taught to "play nice" and we don't want our children seeing armed men walking you to school every day. And to add to the fun in the sun lets say that perhaps the last horrible shooting was one where PERHAPS! In a GUN FREE FUCKIN ZONE!
DavidCattoor (below) said it well when criminals prefer the public to be unarmed. Should this country experience the government such as one in U.K. (which will never happened), the crimminals politicians would run the country Hugo Chavez style. Gun free zone is where crimminals commit their crimes. THE DAY THEY TAKE MY GUNS IS WHEN MY HANDS ARE OPEN, AND COLD BUDDY!! So take your fucking gun free zone, and shouve it, or move somewhere else!
Political incorrectness aside, I would agree with you. I have no guns, however I'm a swordsman and I wouldn't be happy if my sword (also in essence my spirit) was stolen from me.
Yes, guns for self defense. Just like cops, the military, etc. use them for defending themselves. Are you saying a "civilians" life isn't as important? What would you suggest for self defense agains a gun or a knife? Pepper spray that loses its effectiveness fairly quickly (or many that don't work at all), a knife (yeah, I want to be in close combat with a maniac)? I'd like to hear your suggestions. Yes, I legally carry a weapon and actually averted a potentially dangerous situation.
no shit, yea guns for defense. the criminals have guns so i would rather carry a gun then call police and have them put me in a body bag after they finally show up. i live 2 blocks from the police station and the last time we called them, it took 20 minutes for someone to show up. that's why i am not going to rely on the police to protect me.
A simple question that gun control advocates refuse to answer.
If you are a mentally deranged maniac who cannot deal with life anymore and you want to go out by killing as many people as possible, where would you do it?
PSS- a REAL "Gun Free Zone" would be like Court. Metal detectors and an Armed Guard right there. Not a stupid sign that you think is going to be like kryptonite against bad guys.
I heard some idiot liberal say once, "For every one tragic shooting, gun free zones have prevented or deterred five." Yeah, right--for every psycho that walked past the sign and opened fire, five saw the sign, stopped, turned around and schlepped back to their car and drove away because they didn't want to break the law.

"Cost of doing bussiness" while Columbine /Va tech style attacks do happen (very rare)
Does it not stem from the ability to obtain those same constitutionaly granted guns ?What is the true test of who has those rights and who dosn't? I'm not crazy now so, I leagally obtain a gun. My stupid bitch of a girlfriend drives me to the fuckin edge. and Bammm!! now Im crazy!! and I mean batshit crazy! Now what? Do I now loose out on my rights? who and what system can judge that?
Well, I know if I owned a business, I would make it known, that I myself, am armed, and that citizens with a CCP were more than welcome on my property. Question: What criminal in his right mind is going to try and rob or shoot up a place where it is advertised that the owner, and possibly at least one customer is armed? Answer: They're not!
I think in the end we all make our own choices. I for one don't give a shit if Wal Mart has a sign outside that says no guns. I have a CCW and carry it in the store anyway. What they don't know won't hurt them. Besides if a gun crazed dude went nuts and was a danger to me. I'll kill him and then Wal Mart can ask me to leave. At Best I am alive and only charges with trespassing..
Unfortunately the laws in my state make that a crime, to carry on a posted property.. A Misdemeanor for private property that is posted, and a Felony for public, school, or govt. property..
I don't agree with Criminal Protection Zones either, but making me a criminal for wanting to defend myself and my family seems silly.
Conan568: Not all liberals are anti-gun. Not even most of us, really. I own enough guns to possibly make Charlton Heston or Ted Nugent question my sanity.
I also have a concealed carry permit for outside my house and carry all the time, and keep 3 handguns and a shotgun in my business.
However, I believe property owners have the right to deny concealed carry permit holders to enter with a gun onto their property but if that is the case they are responsible for the protection and defense of these people. Whether or not schools may do this is debatable as many people do not have a choice legally and/or due to the nature of our society must attend School and are obligated to abide by the rules and regulations which can be unjust and violate their rights as an individual.
very true, I gave a 5 for this video, the students should have been allowed to carry, or there should of been a check at all entrances and exits of the campus buildings with metal detecteors, for the safety of the students, teachers, and all others there that were hurt .
when former student 43-year-old Peter Odighizuwa opened fire in the school with a handgun.
at Appalachian School of Law he was approached by two students with personal firearms they ran to there car got there guns and stoped the guy from killing more students !! by the way the school was gun free Zone !! i am sick of this Gun control advocate that use the blood of the ppl for there Goals !!
" I am stereotypical liberal, when I am ultimately defeated in a intelligent debate and have nothing left to back up my claims and my pride, I then use personal attacks against anyone who disagrees with me." I will call you a homophobe, a sexiest, a idiot, a loser, a extremist and how could I forget the all time liberals favorite phrase, a racist white person!!!
A solid majority of the U.S. public, 73%, believes the Second Amendment to the Constitution guarantees the rights of Americans to own guns. Twenty percent believe the amendment only guarantees the rights of state militia members to own guns. I guess your part of the 20%
The Constitution was originally written to keep government to a limited level, giving power to the people where it belongs. Our country was founded because the Americans didnt think they should be governed by a controlling entity.Would you say the people are currently in control,or do we have something closer to a dictatorship?Do your homework on the CFR, NAU, Amero.
So what if I am a conservative, that means I am a man who will protect my family to the very last round fired. I rather die in a hail of gun fire like a MAN then die a bitch begging for my wife to be spared and watching her being raped because my liberal believes tell me that guns are evil and the police will always be there for me. Thank God all democrats do not think like you do.
Well people who want to defend their family or not going to use a nuke and kill everyone in the process. The fact that they say this is why the police are her but legally the police are not required to protect ANYONE. even if they were the average gun fight last 30 secs and the threat is gone. The police take 10 mins to hours to show up if at all and by that time the person is dead or raped. I will kill the intruder first and call the cops to remove the fucker. Survival of the strongest.
I don't think so, he saying no one to include the Government should be able to tell you how and when and what to uses to defend yourself. All in the name of political correctness.
"Only a coward supports gun control. You know how to stop carjacking? Shoot the carjacker. If someone is going to kill me for my Buick, I'm gonna shoot until I'm out of ammo - and then I'll call 911."
-Ted Nugent, People Magazine, quoted in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, January 5, 1994
Note that our military is now using a backward flag on its uniform. For 400 years, it has been displayed with union upper left, stripes to the right. Not so after middle east involvement; pics show a change to a backward flag.If you look at our money, you'll see the flag is proper up to the ten dollar bill; thereafter, it is displayed backwards. That backward flag is rumored to represent that the subject (usually a soldier) has taken an oath to fight American citizens if need be. Check into it.
LadyHawke - this sounds like a conspiracy theory. In my 20 years in the Army never took an oath to fight American citizens. We (soldiers) wear the flag on our right shoulder instead of the left due to our unit patch. With the flag on our right shoulder the star field is reversed so that it is facing the front of the soldier and to give a flowing appearance as we walk forward. Not to fight American citizens.
I'll cary in gun free zones anyway. Who knows, I could be that one guy on the news that broke the law, but saved everyone's life. Sometimes doing the "wrong thing" is the right thing to do. Disarming isn't the answer, allowing people to use their 2nd Amendment rights IS the answer. A criminal is willing to break the law, but isn't stupid. If students were allowed to carry, the criminal would know he's headed in a concentrated area of gun-carrying people, he doesnt stand a chance, problem solved.
I don't believe that the anti gun politicians are that stupid personally, so they have an agenda (sorry for stating the obvious) But I think we all realized that gun free zones do more harm than good, why do they still exist?
Well said. I have a CCW permit and it infuriates me every time I see a sign saying "no concealed firearms" and and no security check point and no armed guards. If I can't protect my family who will.
I went to college at Western KY University. Myself and my friends had conceal-carry permits. This was before the "Gun Free Zone" BS. If anyone one had come into that classroom with the intent of mass murder. Two people at most would have been killed not 20. The gunman's first victim followed quickly by the gunman. Criminals by definition don't obey the law. Law abiding citizens by definition do obey the law. These zones only handicap the law abiding citizens and give criminals free reign.
Gun free zones gives criminals a mass kill count with no resistant. They need to post signs that state.
Conceal carry is allowed here, students are allowed to use lethal force to defend themselves.
Gun control kills people more then they like to admit. THINK PEOPLE. criminals don't care theres a sigh there that say no guns or about the law that is passed, thats why their called criminals, they don't obey laws. Man people are retarded.

Yeah, if every single kid had a gun for "self defence", kids would be getting shot every day. One kid pulls out a gun to start a shooting rampage, another kid shoots him in self defense, another kid who knew the shooter gets mad because he was his friend shoots the person who shot the shooter, and so on. Its not a good idea. Security guards and teachers who can use guns responsibly- maybe, but checking kids for guns every day isnt right, its just paranoia and it has negative impact on kids.
Nobody said we want to arm kids. Kids are in high school or junior high or elementary. And no kids do not need guns. Adults of the age 21 should be allowed to carry for self defense. They are allowed to protect the nation overseas why not at school? And nobody wants to arm all of them. The ones that are already permitted to do so at the bank or at walmart in line in front of you should be allowed to carry on campus as well. The amount of blood alc allowed in a CHL body while carrying is 0.00%
In order to receive a conceal-carry permit you must be of age and undergo extensive training. Your mindset is allowing innocent people to be slaughtered for your misguided sense of morality.
no one said give kids guns. only a fool would think to hand out guns to 10 year olds. the issue of allowing cccw and open carry on campus is geared towards teachers, parents and college students. the important question is, would you pull out a gun and try to shoot someone at a gun show or a police department if you were a criminal? you could get off 2 shots if you are lucky.
I agree, moral decay is on the rise, and a re-education of traditional values would be a good thing. However, MYTYOOB, what does that have to do with guns?

"god given right to personal self defense"? The fact that Americans can go to a local shop and buy a gun is the sole cause for needing a gun to protect yourself, your family or your property. The Virginia Tech massacre wouldn't have happened if a schizophrenic student didn't have open access to a fire arm. Learn from your mistakes.
We have pourous borders with of violent little turds bringing whatever they want with them. A real AK 47? no problem, explosives? no problem. The fact that we can go to the store and buy something to defend ourselves with against our own absurd government or thugs is what keeps many alive in America.
our mistake? we didn't have one school shooting before there were gun bans in the united states. and by your logic there was no reason for self-defense before the firearm was invented? we may need to learn from our mistakes, but at least we're acknowledging history when we do it.
It is not a fact that we Americans can go to a local shop and just buy anything we want. There is a criminal backgroung check you must pass first. Educate yourself of the facts as they really are before shooting off your ignorance for the world to read.
I like to point to drugs. They are illegal. People still get them (illegally) and use them. Guns are no different. Were they illegal, only the law-breakers would have them. Why? Because only law-breakers break the law to get them. And how do the innocent civilians protect themselves from these lawbreakers? Are they just gonna assume that because guns are illegal that no one will make, supply, or use them? Banning guns is stupid for that reason, and as far as I'm concerned, that reason alone.
Look what a drug ban did for the drug market. Drug lords only exist because of the ban. It would do the same for guns. People are going to take advantage of supply and demand. I can build a 12ga. shotgun with $5.oo worth of HomeDepot parts. Ban guns and I'll be very wealthy. I won't build them. I'll sell a kit out of totally legal parts.
I predict that there is 4 general outcomes with the current branching paths that we have. The first being gun bans with these 2 outcomes:It worked, less significant incidents, it did not work, people are defenseless against criminals(Gov't Oppression?). Secondarily, guns is not banned with 2 outcomes: Guns still exist with occasional incidents, guns still exist and it is getting out of control, massacre everyday. Only time can tell. 500 word max
Yes, but it has subdued the use of guns. It's like drugs; If Marouanna or Canabis is legalized everyone would probably go crazy over it and try it out... whilst it is still illegal, yes, people still get hold of it, but it is subdued because it is a crime... We never needed guns at schools or in public in the 50's & 60's or even 70's...
If you believe the gun ban in the UK has "subdued" the use of firearms by criminals, you'd better start paying attention to your own Home Office. They report year after year the exact opposite. Criminal use of firearms is rising has has been since the Dunblane gun ban was instituted.
Good point and they cant go to the store and buy something to defend themselves with. Even if they could their government would arrest them for self defense, you get a life sentence for self defense over there.
Wow, if you think gun control in the UK has "subdued the use of guns" you should take a look at the statistics provided by your own government. Reality is the exact opposite, the black market keeps getting bigger and bigger. Here is one example of "subduing" since banning hand guns in the UK, to date, crimes involving the use of hand guns have increased more than 350%. Armed robbery is up, homicide rate is up, knife crime is OUT OF CONTROL. London is more dangerous than New York City.
I live in the UK and I can't imagine a UK where the general population would be allowed guns. I don't agree with guns and we don't need them. If anything, it needs to be made harder for those inclined in this way to be able to purchase Guns. 20-30 years ago any disputes were handled with fists, maybe the occassional switchblade. In those days one could never imagine wanting to shoot to kill a fellow human being. A radical re-education of youngsters moral values is required.
YHA but your citizens couldn't protect them selves from the IRA mabe you don't like guns and thank that we can all get along but other's like the Muslim's teariest or cults want to kill people that don't agree with them and if we tech kids that all fighting is bad then they have no idea of self defense and could get killed by evil people trust me the way thing are going know certain nations awates there down fall if they don't get there act together soon.
The lunatic with the gun was responsible for shooting those people, not the school. I have a ccw and used guns all my life. I'm the first one to say we should be able to defend ourselves, but put the blame where it belongs instead of pointing fingers at the school. Get pissed at me for saying so if you want, but I think the shooter pretty much is the one to blame here. And for that matter I don't think the store that sold the guns is responsiblle either.
Part 1 - I don't live in the States anymore, but when I did - in Michigan, it was state law (federal?), that you can't take a gun on school grounds anyway. That goes for gov. buildings and places that serve alcohol too.
Part 2 - If the school said "Sure, bring your handguns to class!", it would be against state (or federal) policy. If the school wanted to search me for weapons as I entered campus, I feel my rights were being violated. I don't know the solution, but I still say the problem is the guy sqeezing the trigger.
We cant disarm all the normal people and set them up as easy victims to crazies. If you produce a barrel of fish someone will come along and shoot them. There were other school shootings where students went to their cars and got their guns came back and held off the shooter until police arrived and there was a great deal less loss of live. Of course in this recent incident the shooter took the trouble of locking all the doors to secure the fish in their barrel so to speak.
So what do we do the? I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable sitting in some lecture theater with a bunch of kids with guns stuffed into the front of their jeans either. Plus, you have to be 21 years old to have a handgun, too, so most of them couldn't even if allowed by school or gov. to carry them there.
If these kids can not be armed to protect their own lives than it is the responsibility of the administration of the school to provide armed security in my opinion.
What is the difference between a suicide gunman, and a suicide bomber? Anyone can walk into a Walmart and for under 20$ purchase materials to make a bomb. Should we have bomb free zones? Ban Shopping centers?
Suicide bombers are pretty rare in the US at present. Most bombers in US history are of the type to leave them to be found and detonated by the unsuspecting. Some go so far as to have a second bomb to harm first responders.
Schools not allowing self defense from violent behavior of others is more the point of this video at least.
Something as simple as a requirement that qualified university staff be equipped with sidearms would have quickly ended or perhaps prevented the tragedy.
I agree that university administration should be help liable for damages to victims and their families.
Also, the cowardly police that waited until the shooting had stopped, then rushed in to terrorize the already traumatized students should be terminated from service and put on trial for neglect and manslaughter charges.
A think asking people to disarm and give up their right to self defense without providing for their safety is criminal negligence at the very least. The fact that people unthinkingly accept this situation is the reason for this video.
I agree. There's nothing you could do to stop a fireman from going into a burning building to save people. However, you can't seem to get the police to go into a building with an active shooter until the scene is "secure". This usually means the gunman has killed everyone he intended and has now killed himself. All the police with their "cool guy" equipment that stood around while those kids were killed should be fired.
Oh - I understand that - and who am I to argue another country's laws or psyche. I'm just glad that easily concealed semi-automatic guns aren't as accessible here - I understand that you can get long guns up here, but they have to be registered.
It's always interesting to hear different perspectives. As a Canadian, the thought of someone being able to walk into a gun shop and buy a gun whenever the mood strikes him/her, frightens the begeebees out of me.
Half of my family fled into Canada during the revolutionary war. They would most likely be the types to agree with you. Those of us descended from the branch that fought for independence from the crown would likely not. It is a matter of self determination. Citizens of the United States have enjoyed the right of self defense since the signing of the constitution.
I have been in Mexico (where there is a total ban on guns) and stared down the barrel of a criminal's firearm without any recourse to protect myself. To me, that was far more frightening than gun availability here.
I agree of course. When institutions require someone to give up their right to personal self defense they then take on that responsibility that otherwise would naturally fall to the individual. It is just plain common sense.
I may be late on this, but I just learned shortly after this past April 16 (the second anniversary of the April 16, 2007 VA Tech massacre) that the only two families who did not agree to the 2008 settlement offered to the survivors and the rest of the victims' families have filed lawsuits against VA Tech and others whose decisions resulted in the 2007 tragedy. Such defendants are mentioned in this article:
Its crazy when you go to a mall and see security guards with pepper spray and a stick WTF. And people think they are safe? A simple question that gun control advocates refuse to answer.
If you are a mentally deranged maniac who cannot deal with life anymore and you want to go out by killing as many people as possible, where would you do it?
PSS- a REAL "Gun Free Zone" would be like Court. Metal detectors and an Armed Guard right there. Not a stupid sign that you think is going to be like kryptonite against bad guys.
"No one can shoot us, this is a ~Gun Free Zone~"

I heard some idiot liberal say once, "For every one tragic shooting, gun free zones have prevented or deterred five." Yeah, right--for every psycho that walked past the sign and opened fire, five saw the sign, stopped, turned around and schlepped back to their car and drove away because they didn't want to break the law.

Seldarin3 2 years ago 4
Why don't they add a sign that says, "Criminals check in their guns before entering."
It would work just as well, meaning not at all.

mikediesel67liter 2 years ago 25
I pretty much agree with this video, with a few exceptions.
I do not believe unreasonable searches at school entrances is the answer and is, in fact, yet another gross direct violation of the constitution.
Persons who have concealed carry permits should be allowed to do so in these areas and there should be a Police/Security presence.
LeftovaCrack 2 years ago 2
However, I believe property owners have the right to deny concealed carry permit holders to enter with a gun onto their property but if that is the case they are responsible for the protection and defense of these people. Whether or not schools may do this is debatable as many people do not have a choice legally and/or due to the nature of our society must attend School and are obligated to abide by the rules and regulations which can be unjust and violate their rights as an individual.
LeftovaCrack 2 years ago
very true, I gave a 5 for this video, the students should have been allowed to carry, or there should of been a check at all entrances and exits of the campus buildings with metal detecteors, for the safety of the students, teachers, and all others there that were hurt .

LadyHawkeByDay22 3 years ago

If students were allowed to carry, the criminal would know he's headed in a concentrated area of gun-carrying people, he doesnt stand a chance, problem solved.
armormaster 3 years ago 6
You'd have to check with your local regulations, but as far as I know carrying into a store or restaurant isn't against the law.
Now if they tell you to leave and you don't, then they can have you arrested for tresspassing.

Security guards and teachers who can use guns responsibly- maybe, but checking kids for guns every day isnt right, its just paranoia and it has negative impact on kids.
nukemachine503 3 years ago
Nobody said we want to arm kids. Kids are in high school or junior high or elementary. And no kids do not need guns. Adults of the age 21 should be allowed to carry for self defense. They are allowed to protect the nation overseas why not at school? And nobody wants to arm all of them. The ones that are already permitted to do so at the bank or at walmart in line in front of you should be allowed to carry on campus as well. The amount of blood alc allowed in a CHL body while carrying is 0.00%
supermansteel7 3 years ago
I'd agree, but change 21 to 18. 18 year old can vote for legislation, be drafted, and shipped overseas to fight wars.
tsaketh 3 years ago 3
In order to receive a conceal-carry permit you must be of age and undergo extensive training. Your mindset is allowing innocent people to be slaughtered for your misguided sense of morality.
freakydill 3 years ago 2
Depending on the state. I know that Ohio requires you to take a class, while Indiana doesn't. Plus in IN you can open carry if you want.
fryloc359 3 years ago
no one said give kids guns. only a fool would think to hand out guns to 10 year olds. the issue of allowing cccw and open carry on campus is geared towards teachers, parents and college students. the important question is, would you pull out a gun and try to shoot someone at a gun show or a police department if you were a criminal? you could get off 2 shots if you are lucky.

Yamthief 4 years ago
We have pourous borders with of violent little turds bringing whatever they want with them. A real AK 47? no problem, explosives? no problem. The fact that we can go to the store and buy something to defend ourselves with against our own absurd government or thugs is what keeps many alive in America.
jackbelias 4 years ago 4
our mistake? we didn't have one school shooting before there were gun bans in the united states. and by your logic there was no reason for self-defense before the firearm was invented? we may need to learn from our mistakes, but at least we're acknowledging history when we do it.
erickrietlow 4 years ago 4
It is not a fact that we Americans can go to a local shop and just buy anything we want. There is a criminal backgroung check you must pass first. Educate yourself of the facts as they really are before shooting off your ignorance for the world to read.
kitepilot 4 years ago 6
I like to point to drugs. They are illegal. People still get them (illegally) and use them. Guns are no different. Were they illegal, only the law-breakers would have them. Why? Because only law-breakers break the law to get them. And how do the innocent civilians protect themselves from these lawbreakers? Are they just gonna assume that because guns are illegal that no one will make, supply, or use them? Banning guns is stupid for that reason, and as far as I'm concerned, that reason alone.
Arthrus111 4 years ago 9
Look what a drug ban did for the drug market. Drug lords only exist because of the ban. It would do the same for guns. People are going to take advantage of supply and demand. I can build a 12ga. shotgun with $5.oo worth of HomeDepot parts. Ban guns and I'll be very wealthy. I won't build them. I'll sell a kit out of totally legal parts.
kitepilot 4 years ago 7

MYTYOOB 4 years ago
If you believe the gun ban in the UK has "subdued" the use of firearms by criminals, you'd better start paying attention to your own Home Office. They report year after year the exact opposite. Criminal use of firearms is rising has has been since the Dunblane gun ban was instituted.
lyttondude 4 years ago 2
Good point and they cant go to the store and buy something to defend themselves with. Even if they could their government would arrest them for self defense, you get a life sentence for self defense over there.
jackbelias 4 years ago
Wow, if you think gun control in the UK has "subdued the use of guns" you should take a look at the statistics provided by your own government. Reality is the exact opposite, the black market keeps getting bigger and bigger. Here is one example of "subduing" since banning hand guns in the UK, to date, crimes involving the use of hand guns have increased more than 350%. Armed robbery is up, homicide rate is up, knife crime is OUT OF CONTROL. London is more dangerous than New York City.
icecoldbeerr 2 years ago 6
I live in the UK and I can't imagine a UK where the general population would be allowed guns. I don't agree with guns and we don't need them. If anything, it needs to be made harder for those inclined in this way to be able to purchase Guns. 20-30 years ago any disputes were handled with fists, maybe the occassional switchblade. In those days one could never imagine wanting to shoot to kill a fellow human being. A radical re-education of youngsters moral values is required.

And for that matter I don't think the store that sold the guns is responsiblle either.
closetpunk2006 4 years ago 2
I pretty much say that as well but the blame for creating an unguarded disarmed citizen zone is the responsibility of the school.
vortexentity 4 years ago
Part 1 - I don't live in the States anymore, but when I did - in Michigan, it was state law (federal?), that you can't take a gun on school grounds anyway. That goes for gov. buildings and places that serve alcohol too.
closetpunk2006 4 years ago
Part 2 - If the school said "Sure, bring your handguns to class!", it would be against state (or federal) policy. If the school wanted to search me for weapons as I entered campus, I feel my rights were being violated. I don't know the solution, but I still say the problem is the guy sqeezing the trigger.
closetpunk2006 4 years ago
We cant disarm all the normal people and set them up as easy victims to crazies. If you produce a barrel of fish someone will come along and shoot them. There were other school shootings where students went to their cars and got their guns came back and held off the shooter until police arrived and there was a great deal less loss of live. Of course in this recent incident the shooter took the trouble of locking all the doors to secure the fish in their barrel so to speak.
vortexentity 4 years ago
So what do we do the? I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable sitting in some lecture theater with a bunch of kids with guns stuffed into the front of their jeans either. Plus, you have to be 21 years old to have a handgun, too, so most of them couldn't even if allowed by school or gov. to carry them there.
closetpunk2006 4 years ago
If these kids can not be armed to protect their own lives than it is the responsibility of the administration of the school to provide armed security in my opinion.

What is the difference between a suicide gunman, and a suicide bomber? Anyone can walk into a Walmart and for under 20$ purchase materials to make a bomb. Should we have bomb free zones? Ban Shopping centers?
baddogma 4 years ago
Suicide bombers are pretty rare in the US at present. Most bombers in US history are of the type to leave them to be found and detonated by the unsuspecting. Some go so far as to have a second bomb to harm first responders.
Schools not allowing self defense from violent behavior of others is more the point of this video at least.
vortexentity 4 years ago
Something as simple as a requirement that qualified university staff be equipped with sidearms would have quickly ended or perhaps prevented the tragedy.
I agree that university administration should be help liable for damages to victims and their families.
Also, the cowardly police that waited until the shooting had stopped, then rushed in to terrorize the already traumatized students should be terminated from service and put on trial for neglect and manslaughter charges.
Gruntington 4 years ago
A think asking people to disarm and give up their right to self defense without providing for their safety is criminal negligence at the very least. The fact that people unthinkingly accept this situation is the reason for this video.
vortexentity 4 years ago

Half of my family fled into Canada during the revolutionary war. They would most likely be the types to agree with you.
