@Chut619 Black stallion is a full blooded arab. The horse that plays him said it in the encyclopedia. He's an full blood arabian. No mix. Even in the books it saids he's an arabian.

@sid9201 Nope it said he was much to large to be a purebred Arabian but appeared to have it in his blood maybe you should reread the books.

I thought it is something with Araby too. Than I found out that it is American Quarter horse named Docs Keepin Time. He also played in Black Beauty.

@KesyBu I know this is late, but Doc did play Black Beauty, Gulliver in the Horse Whisperer, and the black stallion in the 90's TV SERIES. This movie right here was filmed in the 70's, before Doc was even born. The horse here is an arab (there are many different types) and there were stunt horses used (morgan and thoroughbred) mostly in the race scene. This horse is NOT Docs Keepin Time.
