  • I hope you guys read some of these comments. Hats off to you! When I saw this it choked me up for a second. It's so beautiful to see folks living sustainably like this. I live out here in Oregon and have thought about doing this kind of thing for a long time. If this message gets to you guys I would love to contact you all to pick your brain a little bit. Peace and blessings to you and the fam.

  • Wow! This is pretty much the coolest thing I've ever seen! :D

  • Boy you can tell he's a "honey-do"

    Honey do this.Honey do that.....

    Great post!

  • Is it finished? How did it turn out?

  • @kieranpearson we expect to finish this year! Our house is about 7ft. tall - stay tuned!

  • Great idea! Where did you get all the ideas to put this together? I am working on rough dome plans with my gf and we want to get the ideas sorted!

  • I love what you said. "I'd rather spend 6th months working hard then 30 years paying off a mortgage." Awesome. So true.

  • Great step-by-step open sourcing the methods - thanks.

  • Fantastic video you guys! Really appreciate the effort you are putting in to making these videos for us you-tubers. I am hoping to build one of these out in California. Best of luck to you!

  • looks tyer ring work

  • The ramming and shovelling is great for ones core strength. Get healthy while you build!!

  • Exactly! It's not for everyone but it great for us! We always look forward to a good workout every weekend!

    Thanks for watching!

  • @edwinstar100

and if your not healthy before building...forget it!

  • How many sandbags will it take to build aand how much was the bags? Also, can you use burlap bags?

  • YOu can use burlap bags too! It's more organic and will probably biodegrade faster but does the job just the same! So far we have ordered 1000 bags ($200) I imagine we will use smaller bags on the second level.

    Thanks for your interest!

  • @ArdomeTV Where do you find 1000 bags for 200? 911 sandbags is the best price we've found for sandbags period... but we'd love more options of hemp or burlap....

  • @zekehooper Why would you want the bags which make up the *bricks* in the walls to biodegrade? I don't want my house to fall apart.

  • Friggin awsome! I cant wait to see more. I am thinking real hard on doing something real simular hopefully as soon as next year. I'll wait for my questions untill i see more. Rock on ya all.

  • Muchas gracias! Best wishes!!

  • have you guys lose weight building that house :)

  • @jimprice09

Do we look fat? Oh..you will see our muscles popping out by the time we finish...that's the plan anyway! ; D

  • i dont see any plumbing how is that going to work out i under stand that the water can be gravity feed but what about the toilet just woundering

    the cheap guy

  • @iwantosavemoney

Keep watching.. we have added a 6" pipe under one of the tires for plumming...

  • you guys have the right idea

  • I am considering this same method on my newly purchased property! Did you have to get permits, or build to code? Keep up the videos!

  • @1lowbowtie

Only two counties in the state of Arkansas require building permits and we bought land in one of them. Arg! We just got a perk test for the septic - a required 1000 gallon septic tank..doesn't matter if you have a composting toilet and reuse all the gray water...arg!!!

  • Which ones? Probably Washignton Co. and whichever co. Little Rock is in, right?

I'm building a CEB press right now, and looking at building a house in the next couple years. Living in Springdale now, but haven't even bought land yet.

Rock on! You guys are a great example to us who are just dreaming about it!

  • Ok, a House like this for less than $5,000 is not bad.. More people should do this sort of thing

  • breathing lime dust ?

  • @2fingersbobby

The crushed limestone is moist and doesn't have hardly any dust at all. You can see on the Filling Bag Video there is no dust flying when poured into the bags... It's been a great filler for our bags! Cheap too!

  • cool

  • I wish you the best of luck with your house!

Also this is isn't a bad way to recycle tires ;D

  • Hey, keep these coming. I LOVE the videos. Im going to put mad people (oh, that means *lots* of people) lol... on to your project!

  • Thanks! just keep watching for more videos and tell Discovery's Planet Green to give us our show!

  • Great stuff keep up the videos!

  • Good job guys. Way to return to the way life should be. I am thinking about doing this too. Any advice?

  • Keep watching!

  • Great upload! Looking forward to the future vids!

  • This is great.......just found out about earth bag houses I'll be watching .......don't know where Garfield is but I would like to build one in Northwestern PA

    GOOD LUCK
