I was hoping to see more of the "big spiders" in this game. It was a complete failure in my opinion also they shouldnt have removed that awesome gun from halo3 I know it its a prequel but they couldve made a gun somewhat like it. @AAAAAAdddddrrri once you have learned how to best take out different types of enemies and skip all unnecessary combat, you will blow through the campaign on Legendary as easy as Halo 3's.
Now I can blow through the campaigns on all previous halo games on Solo Legendary without breaking a sweat, but I still have major trouble with Reach, even though I know of most of the weapon caches and which battles to skip I still thinks that Reach is by far the most difficult game to pass

I did enjoy the game because of the storytelling and music composition, but it wasn't a very long or completely enjoyable. I would recommend renting this before buying it since the story isn't all that long...

Halo 3 odst would have been better off as an add on, same as left for dead 2 should have been an add on, customers would save money and be way happier.
Really should've mentioned that there is no automatic matchmaking in firefight mode or the campaign and the only way to party with someone is to get invited by a friend since that might be a turn-off for some people.
When i got ODST i thought it was good but the campaign to me was plain and night missions were tough for me to play (colorblind) and i missed the regain health. Makes the campaign even more tough

Firefight grew stale quickly. The campaign, though it did inspire 'stealth' was played more than half the time in the teammate's perspective, which is pretty much run and gun all in itself. The story was okay. A lot of these reviews sound kinda like paid ads and not actual reviews.
Halo ODST was my first time to play any of the Halos. It had tough standards to live up to after recently buy Call of Duty 2. I got bored fast with it and have not played it much. I do not recommend buying it.
I was kinda disappointed because ODST was short and not as challenging as the other Halo games, i know it's no spartan super soldier but it didn't feel like a Halo game at all.
i thought it was decent. it was a good thing that they gave u the multiplayer disk that had all the maps. Also, firefight was really fun and im pumped that their bringing it back for reach.
This was one of the prime examples of how the Video Game review industry hyped up a mediocre product just based on it's name. It was getting rave reviews from the "Pro's" but even some of the vets were voicing their disdain. Once MW2 hit the scene this game was already forgotten. Rental for sure. It made a lot of people think twice before basing a buying decision on a review. No matchmaking for Horde mode killed it for me, I didnt even buy it, my friends dont play Halo. and singleplayer is meh
i liked the game a lot actually. There was a great feeling of isolation in the campaign, you didnt have any orders you just had to fight with your own orders. The reach beta was really good, i thought it would feel unlike halo but it felt like a more hectic halo 3. The campaign was more epic than halo 3 for some reason, the last mission felt on par with what was going on above you. I think that if this was released in the place of halo 3 i would have been upset but this is a good game nonetheles
@RickTheStickman2 Usually the guy doing the review is doing it on easy where as I slap myself if I don't first check to see if the difficulty isn't set on at least medium. Perhaps a change of tactics will allow you to pass the first level.
Graphics are expected to be the same since they used the same engine, there's no reason to think it would be better. Worst case; same graphics on the same engine is +/- not -.
If the sound is epic, there is no need for change. (hasn't played it).
@RickTheStickman2 You could also try a different button layout, the guy who's reviewing is a complete console tard in my opinion (nothing bad, but this means auto lock, target tracking and snap-on. Features that usually are impossible to completely turn off and ruin many console game experiences for me) so controls should be fairly good.
this game bottom line, was only used for the halo mutiplayer map dick like i use it for, and for halo reach, the game play sucks, the enemies were way over power also that you have no shield and it only takes abou 4 shots for them to kill you and 35 for you to kill a brute, this guy obviously only played the campain on easy and skipped the higher difficulties and just winged it and said that firefight was a good edition and 2 days later regreted every thing he said, thumbs up if you agree please
Das game ist sowas von grottenschlecht, echt maximal 2/10 mehr nich, und die grafik ist auch der witz schlechthin, da schaut das steinalte Resistance 1 ja noch zig ma besser aus und vorallem das gameplay ist um längen besser.
Steuerrung soll ja so toll sein, aber ich hädd schon paar mal das Pad zerschlagen vor wut, Nachladen auf RB, Benutzen auch auf RB (vorallem HALTEN) Autoaim ist das schlimmste was es gibt, das macht einem die ganzen skills kaputt, zum glück war es nur bei Forza 3 dabei.....
The price is soley due to the Beta. Crackdown did the same thing. It was a good game but the only reason half of us bought it was for the Halo 3 Beta. A good game should be fixed on Single player. A great game should also have it's own multiplayer. A brilliant game should have co-op as well as the other two. The only thing I liked on ODST was Fire Fight. And that got boring quickly.

in my opinion odst is more of a rent. It wasn't anything that was super unique about it. It felt somewhat different but i wish they would have taken their time and added more stuff to make you feel more vulnerable seeing as your a human and maybe add new features. A couple reasons why i didnt like it...First i wasnt master cheif...Second..The only reason to actually buy it was for maps and the beta invite..3rd what happen to versus..And last but least..i hated it cause of fire fight..most people got on it for the recon armor for halo 3...and im scarred off this game cause i failed in firefight by one kill.
odst was a little disapointing like i finished it on legendary in less then half a day. for those who havnt realised but the odst legendary is easier then the halo 3 legendary. remember you dont have sheilds thats why odst is easier on legendary the enemies have to be weaker otherwise youll die to much. only real challenge was firefight, but even then done on easy you can get the achievements for them quite quick and easy.
I was able to beat ODST in under 24 hours on legendary. But, many people say its harder. All you have to do is sneak past guards, ride in tanks, and really use your silenced weapons.
i was disappointed in ODST for one reason i spent $60 on it. i spent that much money for a half a game they should of just came out with an add on or something the game was nice but i felt like i was ripped off and it wasnt that great for some reason this guy has a serious hard on for halo? am i the only one noticing this???

@COLTZ2005 For me, it was actually worth the $60 because I was missing out on all the map packs in Halo 3, so that's like $25, and it also gave me access to the Halo: Reach beta, and I enjoyed Halo 3: ODST's campaign more than any other Halo game. So it is worth it.

This review made my buy this game. Do yourself a fovor and PASS!! The only reason you may want to buy is if you want halo 3 maps enough to buy a full game.

Firefight grew stale quickly. The campaign, though it did inspire 'stealth' was played more than half the time in the teammate's perspective, which is pretty much run and gun all in itself. The story was okay. A lot of these reviews sound kinda like paid ads and not actual reviews.

Halo ODST was my first time to play any of the Halos. It had tough standards to live up to after recently buy Call of Duty 2. I got bored fast with it and have not played it much. I do not recommend buying it.

This was one of the prime examples of how the Video Game review industry hyped up a mediocre product just based on it's name. It was getting rave reviews from the "Pro's" but even some of the vets were voicing their disdain. Once MW2 hit the scene this game was already forgotten. Rental for sure. It made a lot of people think twice before basing a buying decision on a review. No matchmaking for Horde mode killed it for me, I didnt even buy it, my friends dont play Halo. and singleplayer is meh

i liked the game a lot actually. There was a great feeling of isolation in the campaign, you didnt have any orders you just had to fight with your own orders. The reach beta was really good, i thought it would feel unlike halo but it felt like a more hectic halo 3. The campaign was more epic than halo 3 for some reason, the last mission felt on par with what was going on above you. I think that if this was released in the place of halo 3 i would have been upset but this is a good game nonetheles

It was too "meh".
It's too hard. Even on Easy I couldn't get past the first mission.
Graphics are exactly the same as Halo 3 so epic fail.
Sound didn't change. Epic fail. The music was pretty cool though.
Controls were tough and innacurate making the game hard, frustrating, and another epic fail.
I'd say pass. It's shoved in my game shelf.

@RickTheStickman2 Usually the guy doing the review is doing it on easy where as I slap myself if I don't first check to see if the difficulty isn't set on at least medium. Perhaps a change of tactics will allow you to pass the first level.
Graphics are expected to be the same since they used the same engine, there's no reason to think it would be better. Worst case; same graphics on the same engine is +/- not -.
If the sound is epic, there is no need for change. (hasn't played it).

@RickTheStickman2 You could also try a different button layout, the guy who's reviewing is a complete console tard in my opinion (nothing bad, but this means auto lock, target tracking and snap-on. Features that usually are impossible to completely turn off and ruin many console game experiences for me) so controls should be fairly good.

this game bottom line, was only used for the halo mutiplayer map dick like i use it for, and for halo reach, the game play sucks, the enemies were way over power also that you have no shield and it only takes abou 4 shots for them to kill you and 35 for you to kill a brute, this guy obviously only played the campain on easy and skipped the higher difficulties and just winged it and said that firefight was a good edition and 2 days later regreted every thing he said, thumbs up if you agree please

Das game ist sowas von grottenschlecht, echt maximal 2/10 mehr nich, und die grafik ist auch der witz schlechthin, da schaut das steinalte Resistance 1 ja noch zig ma besser aus und vorallem das gameplay ist um längen besser.
Steuerrung soll ja so toll sein, aber ich hädd schon paar mal das Pad zerschlagen vor wut, Nachladen auf RB, Benutzen auch auf RB (vorallem HALTEN) Autoaim ist das schlimmste was es gibt, das macht einem die ganzen skills kaputt, zum glück war es nur bei Forza 3 dabei.....

The price is soley due to the Beta. Crackdown did the same thing. It was a good game but the only reason half of us bought it was for the Halo 3 Beta. A good game should be fixed on Single player. A great game should also have it's own multiplayer. A brilliant game should have co-op as well as the other two. The only thing I liked on ODST was Fire Fight. And that got boring quickly.

I borrowed this game twice. Once for achievements and the Halo universe updates. Once more for the beta. Didn't like either.
You go on about the Halo fanchise going stale. And you think 'slightly' different rules and 4 hour campaign with the SAME multiplayer game is fresh? What would you think if Call of Duty : Black Ops was released with MW2 Multiplayer and the extra maps? It's a complete rip-off.
Now a days you can pick it up for £20. That's the price it should have been on release.

in my opinion odst is more of a rent. It wasn't anything that was super unique about it. It felt somewhat different but i wish they would have taken their time and added more stuff to make you feel more vulnerable seeing as your a human and maybe add new features. And the campaign was OK. But thats just my opinion, and everyone can have their own. :)

ill admit it, halo odst was awesome at the beginning. but now its super boring. the only thing that you can do now is campaign and firefight solo. no one plays annymore and if they are then its just the add on disk for halo 3 multiplayer.

A couple reasons why i didnt like it...First i wasnt master cheif...Second..The only reason to actually buy it was for maps and the beta invite..3rd what happen to versus..And last but least..i hated it cause of fire fight..most people got on it for the recon armor for halo 3...and im scarred off this game cause i failed in firefight by one kill.

odst was a little disapointing like i finished it on legendary in less then half a day. for those who havnt realised but the odst legendary is easier then the halo 3 legendary. remember you dont have sheilds thats why odst is easier on legendary the enemies have to be weaker otherwise youll die to much. only real challenge was firefight, but even then done on easy you can get the achievements for them quite quick and easy.

I was able to beat ODST in under 24 hours on legendary. But, many people say its harder. All you have to do is sneak past guards, ride in tanks, and really use your silenced weapons.

i was disappointed in ODST for one reason i spent $60 on it. i spent that much money for a half a game they should of just came out with an add on or something the game was nice but i felt like i was ripped off and it wasnt that great for some reason this guy has a serious hard on for halo? am i the only one noticing this???

@COLTZ2005 For me, it was actually worth the $60 because I was missing out on all the map packs in Halo 3, so that's like $25, and it also gave me access to the Halo: Reach beta, and I enjoyed Halo 3: ODST's campaign more than any other Halo game. So it is worth it.

ODST was challenging AND fun.
