try CCI rounds, they are a bit more expensive @ like $9 per 100 rounds but they are 15-1600fps hollowpoint with a light copper coating for less cleaning and more speed.

have a buckmark standard version and the ruger only shoot mini mags buckmark has probably 6000 rounds through it with no jams or failure to feed none not even one and will shoot so fast ive had neighbors think i was shooting full auto and i have never took any thing on the gun apart to clean it only clean the barrel and wipe off feed ramp a little you seriously dont have to clean the thing truly a marvel of a gun i religously believe in taking down every part of a gun to clean it if only shot 1

My 22/45 is the least picky of my .22 pistols, but still has a few types of ammo it doesn't like. So far the CCI mini-mags "40 grain round nosed" have been the most consistent in all of mine. They are cheap enough that they are all I buy anymore. Nice shooting guys, looked like a good times was had.

Hitting soda cans consistently at 100 yards with a .22 pistol would be "accurate". I have a 55 gal drum about 300 yards behind my house I consistently hit with a .22 but I have shot at it hundreds of times and know exactly how much higher i must shoot. You don't get that advantage on the fly . Also the rounds seldom penetrate even metal that thin at that distance. With a pistol it even has less penetration ability because the bullet exits the barrel even sooner so less powder has chance to burn.

@sk8amerika yes you should, i learned that the hard way just three days ago i was shooting my 22 and came inside and then i later noticed my right ear felt like i couldn't hear out of it, like when you get out of a swimming pool, and i thought it would go away if i slept on it but the next morning it wasn't and i went to school half deaf lol its starting to come back now i can hear like 60% out of it but i never thought a 22 would do that but i guess it does so yah i would wear ear protection.

I have heard that the Mark 3 jams alot, even if you've got good quality ammo. In fact it jams soo much that you cannot keep it for anything apart from a situation where your just having fun with it. Is that true?

Apart from silencing the pistol, what other effects does the suppressor have? Either positive or negative.

How is this for home defense or carry?

@jonnyjumpsalot Home defense? Out of the question, this is more of a 'sports' pistol. It would be very risky to use against an armed intruder as most of them use large caliber weapons or shotguns and a .22 wouldn't hit with enough velocity to stop someone in their tracks well enough. A .38 or above would be a better bet, but don't go for a .50 magnum or something ridiculous haha.

I really like my Ruger Mark III hunter with its sights. It is really tough to put back together after field stripping until I watched a video not made by Ruger on how to do it and then it made sense. The Ruger video did not show the importance of one stop to move a lever again to clear getting the grip pin inserted without blockage. Then it made sense. These videos are important for such things to learn the fundamentals and the experienced shooter's lifetime of things that work.
