Great song and Tim McGraw is a great singer, but the original cut by the songwriter (Bruce Robison with additional vocals by his wife Kelly Willis) is still the best version of this. It is a much grittier sound and really brings out the emotion and the hurt that the song is trying to portray.
I listen to this song a lot..I am coming out of a two year relationship, and I just cant stay..its not about loving the person, its about dealing with being alone and having an absent partner and having to carry the entire weight on my shoulders. its rough and sad..one person cant be the only one in the realtionship..it takes two people.
this songs words describe everyones life at some point in time. whats sad is if you stay & remain miserable. like so many do. I wish them the courage to move on & be happy. Life is to short to spend even one minute crying

just wanted to say "don't give up". Have you considered that the problem is not with you but maybe with her? Also, have you expressed these same feelings to her and tried to talk about what or where her anger really stems from? Don't get me wrong there are some things that no matter how hard you try you just can't fix but if you are in a marrage or there are children involved i do hope that you make every effort to repair your relationship.
