  • no chimney or foundation burnt yet.......

  • Bc u have to let the rpm go down or els u will blow the engine

  • Y they took so long to get water on it when they got there

  • I love the cop holding it's coffee in the mirror at a 6min 10 sec. CLASSIC.

  • Correct me if i'm wrong but at 5:19 looks like the police officer standing at the back of the red car is giving the other officer a ticking off coz he helped move the hose

  • That's an awfully big town to still have a volunteer dept. And I don't care how much training that cop has, he has no business on a nozzle with no gear on.

  • 2:25 guy in high vis vest walks over what looks like power lines? granted its probly a phone line but the he just throws scene safety out the window

  • the q sounds sooo good in this video

  • that's a pretty heft header.

  • upload more please

  • I liked the cop at 5:38 picking up the blue 1 1/2 line and putting out the fire while all the FFs were running around like a bunch of numbskulls.

Thank God for Public Safety departments.

  • why was that cop yelling at the other cop?

  • for a call like that, we would be out of the station in probly 5 minutes after the initial dispatch. Im not bragging. Did you get re alerted? because the siren was going off

  • @25Yankeesfan 5 min? thats too long

  • @timberland1108 for volunteer? it is not that long. considering our company has the problem of picky choosy when it comes to calls, it is not bad. If it is during the day it is five minutes. after hours it is less

  • @25Yankeesfan I watched a video the other day of a completely paid fire department on their 4th alarm, almost an hour into the incident and they still didnt have water on the fire. and the siren goes off with dispatch, so the engine was out the door in less than a minute....not bragging or anything

  • nice sounding fire siren

  • of course the power was cut hahahahaha

  • How many calls do you guys usaully get?

  • Nice video!

  • yeah it looked like the fireman was yelling at the cop but who knows.lol

  • liked the Q!! very nice video! lol ive seen alot of fires but i have never seen a cop help flake hose or tag a hydrate....but thats good they actually help u guys instead of stand around and take up room like the cops do where i live.

  • ems was already on scene?

  • 1:43 the schwann's man!!!! stop and maybe get a free ice cream

  • I was at this fire with EDS, Dave Thomas and I were in the ROX for a parade when the call was dispatched and responded from the end of the parade which coincidentally ended right at the entrance to the McKees Rocks bridge.

  • DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think it's kinda fun to see how the Bravo exposure's Delta side verneer at 2:35 is intact, however at 8:06 you can see how the heat melted it. It was really smoking there for a while. The house on fire is destroyed, before they ever put water on it. I would have hit that Bravo exposure before ever turning the hose on the burning house. It was really smoking there for a bit.

  • wat caused the explosion

  • if i may ask, how come there is yelling at about 6:05 to 6:20 is something wrong, and i never seen the cops helping out, was there lack of manpower, i hope everyone was safe, awesome video... -PA firefighter

  • Thanks 108 boss, I was just curious, not critiquing. I was the Capt in Elmira Hgts NY (vol) some years ago and we didn't have chiefs from other Depts show up to help, that would have been nice. Our cops helped out too, definitely a bonus.

  • u should upload more...thats alot of Q!!!!!

  • what was the cause of the explosion?

  • someone lit a smoke and walking into a basement that was filled with gas

  • im guessing he was killed?

  • He had minor burns

  • wow hes lucky to be alive

  • @108engineboss the vic had minor burns in an explosion that's a miracle after seeing the column during the response

  • One question, why is the chief fighting the fire instead of being the chief, and the captain is running the fire ground instead of directing the attack? Just curious.

  • That chief wasnt the chief of this district. The person in charge of this call was the captain.

  • @covewatcher Because maybe the Chief let the Captain be in charge since he was in the 1st due truck... it's simple... where i live my dad is a asst cheif and he lets his captain be in charge on their company calls

  • cops help flake out lines and stuff. they are all firefighters. Everyone says cops go block the street or stand over there but if anyone wants to flake out my line ill let them. Its one less firefighter that is stuck chasing kinks. Its not that firefighters cant do it but you try a working fire first on scene with 2 people and see how much you get done by yourself

  • Comment removed

  • I just watched it. Two firefighters were on a line, the red hat had command and a pump man. So 4 guys total at that point. Thats alot of work. This isnt a paid place where you get 4 to 5 people on a rig. In cities its usually 2 Engines, a truck, 2 bc's, and possibly a rescue company. Thats 18 guys for cities. We do this for free and no one is garenteed to get crews out the doors in 30 seconds with 4 people on each truck and the line down was a cable line, i would of done the same thing.

  • @wastedtubers i can guarantee you the power was cut before they put water on it... otherwise you would have seem some interesting stuff in this vid

  • @108engineboss Thats awesome! They're integrating our police departments around here, giving them the option of getting their paramedic or firefighter. It's been a god send

  • @108engineboss Depends where u work and what kind of relationship ur PD has with FD. As a Cop, I've laid supply lines/attack lines, raised ladders and handled exposure lines. U work with what u have.

  • @gotgank exactly. finally someone understands that not just fire fighters can fight a fire. THANK YOU LORD. im a fire fighter anyway and i know from experience that every person fire fighter or not that is will to help should help

  • I only had a problem with one thing...there were a few guys that approached the A (alpha) side of the building without an SCBA on, i dont care if you are going in or outside, if you are in a danger zone with smoke you need to wear an SCBA!! Other than that, fine job!

  • @EMT630

hell, i keep an SCBA hangin on the wall of my garage because its full of solvents, paints, gasoline, and diesel. if there's a fire, i aint waistin no time in strappin that bitch on and headin in with dry chem!

  • My fire company we wear scbas for fire alarms, co, gas, car fires, dumpster fires, we are weill disiplined with that. I cant speak for other fire companies meaning those people werent from my place and this call wasnt in our district.

  • nice vid 5*

  • umm was there two houses on fire cus that ones smokeing

  • the siding of the second house melted off

  • Memorial day i think thats why they were up.

  • Do you know what model the station siren was?

  • I have no clue model it is. It is very old i can tell you that much.

  • in the first is that a q siren or tornado siren?!

  • The first was a fire call siren ot alert the firefighters of a call. It is the same as a tornado siren

  • I was at this fire, actually made crew chief on our engine. when I heard it, walked ourt of my house looked to the left and thought HOLY SHIT. Of course I headed to the fire house and even made the news that day.

  • this is Bellevue Pa station 108

  • at 4:30 is that a police officer in the rear view mirror? because i think he is helping setting up a line. Just wondering if you guys are Fire Police or is he just a volunteer with your dept and works as a cop. and than he gets in shit at the front of the truck too lol

  • That police officer is a firefighter for borough where this fire was at. Most of bellevue's police officers are firefighters too so when we have a fire and they are there, we let them hit our hydrants so we have that extra person to go in right away.

  • Thats Gotta Be Irwin, Pa.

  • Its avalon pa

  • where is this? what state?

  • Pennsylvania

  • why was there that "civil defense" siren in the background at the beginning of the vehicle???

  • That is actually a tower siren. Not many fire departments use them anymore. Ours isnt used anymore because the relay broke and our council thinks its annoying.

  • thanks for the info. what was the purpose of it to notify volunteers that they needed to report for duty???

  • That was the general idea. Back in the old days when they didnt have pagers to alert that there was a fire call the siren would go off and everyone responded. Now that pagers are used, the tower siren was still meant for firefighters if they were out and didnt have a pager and so the community knew we had a fire so they would know to get ready to pull over. Some now days go off when its noon and when its curfew, others are used for severe weather coming.

  • thanks

  • Lol. Thinks its annoying, lol. That makes me laugh!

  • We all want it back

  • Its comes in handy if your like at your house or something and ur pager fails!

  • Ya that is one thing that politicians dont understand, with all of the technology made with pagers and beepers and such, they still fail and we have to rely on other things to alert us.

  • Yep. I know Brentwood, a company we run Mutual for, which I have two uncles in that company, both of there pagers are complete fail! Plus, they have a House Siren, which they don't use! So they both have to carry there Radios with themm 24/7 so that they hear calls!

  • i was jus wandering, how many occupants were there and how badly was the structures on either side of the fire building damaged

  • I dont have an exact number but last i could remember it was 3 and a dog. I know on arrival of our engine fire was blowing out of every window and the front was fully involved. On arrival you couldnt see it because of the smoke but the right side wall was blown off the foundation.

  • was this fatal? i saw you had said it had exploded due to a gas leak and sparked by a cigaratte?

  • no it wasnt fatal, just injuries to occupants

  • this get me pumped up

  • oh great video. so good i even got the classic oh shit feeling when you saw smoke billowing from a mile away lol.

  • what caused the explosion?

  • Last i heard there was a gas leak and a cigaratte was lit

  • love your videos

  • Thanks

  • We had a house explosion, only when we got there, there was nothing left of the house.

  • This one the walls were blown out but you cant tell because of the smoke, it ending up collapsing after the fire went out.

  • good siren use. at intersections and lights. this is an excellent video

  • did the house next to it go up too?

  • what is going on at 6:07??

  • almost sounds like from the way they held maybe someone ran over one of the lines??? or the line was still coiled when they charged it and it went flyin!!

  • we parked far away from the line, i believe someone didnt see it and was about to walk over it

  • Pittsburgh pa

  • what township is this in? im from Bethel Park

  • Bellevue, we arent far from you

  • What's all the yelling for at 6:07? Was another engine about to run over that line?

  • I believe the cop almost walked onto it

  • He uncoiled it.

  • I grew up in the house that exploded.

Lived there from 1951 to 1975. When I got married we moved to an appartment in Bellevue, then three years later bought a house that is two doors away from the structure in the video.

I've heard stories about the events that lead to the explosion but I don't have any first hand information. According to word of mouth the tenants caused a natural gas explostion by accident from work they were doing in the basement.

  • I heard a scenario like that. A tenant was was working on a natural gas like in the basement and someone lit a cigarette which sparked the blaze. When our engine arrived the side of the house that is the closest to birmingham was blown out and the roof was caving in

  • why dont you guys have a powercall on the engine we have a 1978 ALF and its sounds pretty good in a lil city of latrobe pa

  • We actually have power calls on the truck and engine. We just havent gotten around to adding the videos from the engine yet.

  • The air raid siren makes it kinda creepy....in a good way...doomsday under attack....everything's burning...

  • as usual wonderful videos 5*

  • At 4:40 you can see the wires arking on the other house

  • If you watch the video and just look at that house you will notice the siding melting off. The siding did melt completely off

  • I like how the cop accidently touched the Chevy Aveo car and then realized DARN that is HOT @ 5:16 in on the tape. But he was also looking out for his other brother who wanted to help the firemen out but he was playing the role of cop not firefighter; so good for the other guy. I guess what I am trying to say is NO PPE NO PLAY. Sometimes it is harder not to help out in the heat of the moment.

  • Not to say that all cops do it but some cops think they are super heroes. I hate it when i hear on the news where a cop runs into a burning building and saves a pet or person. Granted its a good save but you carry a gun and you dont have the proper ppe. The gun will go off under heat and if the cop goes down you have two people to worry about getting out not just one.

  • I am hoping there weren't any victims in that house. Did everyone make it out safely?

  • I believe atleast one individual sustaned minor burns

  • damn they drive slowly

  • We like safe driving. There wasnt a reason for us to go fast, it will still be burning when we get there

  • Awesome Vid.

  • I love the way the Wail and the Q wind down together at the end

  • I love the house siren in the background when you guys leave the station...made my spine shiver

  • I wish it was still in use

  • That sucks, I ran Vol for 21 yrs. in Portage Co. Ohio. And I hated when they stopped useing ours. It told the folks we were commin, get out of the way. Anyway you guys be safe, and have a Great Holiday, KGC

  • Thank you and safe to you. Happy Holidays

  • Safe driving - (don't see too much of that on here), Good response, good communications, good use of resources, 2 lines on the ground, good exposure protection, good knock down. Great job - this is what we should see on every job.

  • We preach safe driving and you have to wear your seat belts. We had 1 3/4 lines on side b, d, 2 1/2 on c, the deck gun on a, and our deluge from the truck in service. I believe another company also had a line on side c.

  • What siren does your station have, the dual tone one?

  • There is the tower siren you here first and the other one is basically a warning one that we are coming down the main ave

  • let me be more specific, what kind of siren is the tower one, like is it a federal, ACA, or Decot, or what??

  • I honestly couldnt tell you its very old. I can try and find out for you

  • It is a Sterling Special M 12/16 port from the early 30's

  • Where exactly was this taped at?

  • Avalon borough just outside of pittsburgh

  • the house next to it took some heat

  • The siding completely melted off by the end of the fire.

  • This was an absolutely outstanding response and initial knock down. You guys did this wonderfully. Not only did you get there driving safely and in a very timely fasion, but it looks like you knocked down the bulk of the fire within 10 minutes.

I have to give you guys a pat on the back, good job brother.

  • Ya everyone drives safe to calls. It will still be there when you get there. The bulk of the fire was put out quickly.

  • Sorry i accidently hit the spam button. I dont know the official cause but i heard that someone was fixing a pipe in the basement and they didnt know it was a gas pipe and someone lit a cigarette and that caused it. Thats unoffical.

  • so they died?

  • No they didnt die, i believe they were burned some.

  • what was the cause I wonder?

  • was this the explosion at mardi gras dirve??

  • This was center ave avalon borough.

  • did y'all go to the mardi gras drive one?

  • No we didnt but i heard about it from fire fighters that were there

  • through the whole first video i only saw one guy packed up...not good

  • There was alot more you just didnt get a good view

  • Also we cut out parts you didnt see it all

  • Google translater English to German translate "sagging roof" to "Hängebrüsten Dach" which means "sagging breast roof" or "sagging bosom roof"

    LOL

  • Haha nice

  • nice video

  • If the lines were live, how come the guy in the green vest at 2:25, didnt get zapped?

  • Im not sure why maybe they werent the live ones but there were alot of lines down.

  • nice header at 1:43

  • what took u so long to start spraying water?

waz it cuz of downed power lines?

  • The engine rolled to this call with just the driver. We are a combination dept, a paid ff is on duty 24/7 and the rest is made up of volunteers. The driver decided to not wait for a crew to get to the station because it was day light and wasnt sure if anyone was around.

  • very nice vid

  • Thank you

  • Great video! Can you get a vid or tell me where I can see some pictures of your apparatus?
