  • WhatPharNetwork made a montage similar to this, but I guess that account was deactivated. Right?

  • 4:29 thde universal logo has the digfrnt music.

    what show used difrrent music?

    it came affer theshow

  • i remember the review/universal logo fanfare in b-flat coming on after rockford files, granny loves that show.

  • dont nkow the neion logo was takn from,ic came affer the rockrowd files

  • Whats up the first Revue Long series

  • Boom, bah bah bah bah, tat tata tat tat tata tat tat!

  • oh on 7:18 the jazz where did you get it

  • HAHAHAHA "a mca release?" seriously. some need to work on their language books!!!

  • 5:55 was from ''janters'' while the 1986 music from ''dsay'',also, the logo at 7:16,was from ''janbers'' and ''janesanddancers''.

  • Big Eyeballs

  • Eyeballs is Universal Television

  • Dog is Eyeballs

  • Thanks to this, I now have that damn Revue" music in my head.

  • the first revue is scary, and 4:36 sounds like it's mexican hat dance music. someone should make a video where they put a mexican hat and feet with tapping shoes on the logo, and have it dance along to the jingle!!!

  • Will this have long revue?

  • I win 8:40 and 4:57 and 7:11.

  • And 3:05

  • Give it up for 4:29

  • And 3:39

  • 3:25 is also the coolest

  • 2:01 COOL FANFARE

  • @JohnnyL80 Now UMS is the name Universal Television but if you watch the new shows on NBC on the web it will have the UMS logo for the new logo is has the Curve at the top of the name Universal Television the globe is now more real then the old globes of Universal Television but the music for the logo will be the UMS jingle or the 1997 Universal Telvision logo jingle I like Universal Telvision name better then Universal Media Studios name and the new logo is better.

  • @1soniccool please update the logo!!!

  • They really loved using that tune, didn't they?

  • 2:17 A Jindely scary,from ''awq''

  • At 5:48 the warbling comes in.

  • I wish I knew why I enjoy watching these.

  • Didn't the first season of "Law & Order" (1990-91) use the 1978-80 music (with full orchestration on the last note of the jingle) by mistake, rather than the 1987-91 music?

  • I have a question: did any of the MTE logos plaster the old '60s-early '80s Universal TV logos by mistake? I take this to mean its rare appearance on such Universal TV shows like Switch, Baretta, Bionic Woman, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Magnum P.I., Knight Rider, and others.

  • 7:18 is baby makin' music oh yeah(pelvis thrust)

  • I Like the Revue logo

  • You might want to wear headphones when watching these anthologic clips. These mca tv theme songs are in different keys.

  • Yep,this covers the whole history,up to the current NBC/Universal Logos!

  • LOL!!!! "Revue" is some "Universal" letters spelled backward.

  • 5:01 is the longest... and 6:19 too...

  • 5:01 is the longest...

  • They should these for coming incoming 100th anniversary of Universal.

  • @NYCTAFreak500 Not the horror-inducing Revue "filmstrips", i hope...

  • @TimelordR lol true tht

  • I've never seen the majority of the Universal key changes before!

  • @thejackal007 They did agreat job on that one. They're spreading rumors for Incoming 100th anniversary of universal studios

  • @NYCTAFreak500 I would look forward to that. Good to see some real logo enthusiasts here! Question, does anyone know what show the clip at 1:10 comes from?

  • Mewtwo2721's version has loops of some of the logos and doesn't have some of the ones featured in this video.

  • Acoplado desde lo que es de 1951 (MCA-TV) hasta Universal Media Studios (2007-presente)

  • @3:48 where can i find this Universal Studios logo at what series....i like that kind of tune.

  • Update this with the new NBCUniversal Television Distribution logo.

  • There's a fake MCA TV logo after the Revue/MCA combo.

  • JohnnyL80--

You left out Studios USA, which distributed Universal's TV programming from 1998-2002.

  • The one at 7:17 is love-making music.

  • Hail Universal

  • "a mca realease"? looks like someone needs to work on their english homework!

  • @angelpichu1 Actually, its grammatically correct, but doesn't sound right when read aloud.

  • @rjherie oh i guess i need to work on my english then. 9even though it's the only language i no )

  • @angelpichu1 Don't worry about it. Everyone makes mistakes.

  • Hey, JohnnyL80, do you think you can do an MGM Television Logo history video?

  • do not watch if you drink , forget drugs ,wow my head is spinning.thanks for posting.

  • Because MCA represented the talent as well as the series they appeared in, it wasn't unusual for the stars to own "a piece of the action", setting up their own production units to produce the shows with Revue: Jack Benny {"J&M Productions"}, John Forsythe {"Bachelor Productions"}, Alfred Hitchcock {"Shamley Productions"}, John Payne {"Window Glen"}, Henry Fonda {"Top Gun"} and George Gobel {"Gomalco Productions"} were among those that benefited quite profitably from their various series...

  • Revue Productions was originally formed by MCA during World War II as a unit for producing live stage shows and radio programs (they co-produced James Stewart's "THE SIX-SHOOTER" for NBC in 1953-'54). In 1949, Revue began concentrating on filmed (and several live) TV series. Their most successful during the '50s were "GENERAL ELECTRIC THEATER", "SCHLITZ PLAYHOUSE OF STARS", "ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS", "LEAVE IT TO BEAVER", and "BACHELOR FATHER" (often in tandem with the star or their agent).

  • The one in 4:11-4:17 is the best!

  • Imagine how many times an orchestra had to go into a studio to re-record that "Universal"-ly known few seconds of music!

  • At 7:37, the "safe' MCA TV logo. Also, what show did the Revue "filmstrip" logo with the sub-heading "Top Gun" productions?

  • @JohnnyL80 You sir deserve a cyber cookie for such great work.

  • @girlintheflesh78 0:02 Which? The first one or the camera that gets close to you and hows the logo on the right?

  • @Thekinggamelon Yeah, that one. It's nightmare fuel to me.

  • wheres the full universal logo?

  • Really really impressed with the evolution of the Universal logo in the last 50+ yrs. How amazing that is. Thanks for posting. How did U find time to crazy collect all of these Universal tv logo endings? WOW!!

  • The Earth Globe at the logo of Universal studios change a lot, from begining to today...

  • Oddly enough I can place many series to these endbits. Some I never really got into watching, probably because they came before what I did want to watch.

Weird yet effective bits of nostalgia.

  • One logo is missing! :P

  • The one at 0:02 is kinda scarry

  • Best update of logo history ever!!!!!!

  • Geez thats pretty annoying

  • Where did 3:28 come from?

  • 6:41 - WHUT? Copyright MCMLXXXVII?

  • @Macintosh3745 That particular logo was from the end credits of "The Munsters Today".

  • How appropriate that several of them were on Chiller! XD

  • Is kinda looks like the intro and outro for both of the MCA TV arrowhead logos were done by power point (i know that's not the case but still)

  • I also like the later stereo one with the electronic flowing keyboard riff!

  • my favorite 1 is from 8:41 and 8:44 .

  • What's NBC Universal Television?

  • The logo from 7:19-7:24 is what I call the "misfit" of the Universal Logos with jingles because that's the only one that has a saxophone we can hear.

  • If you're wondering why the Earth is surrounded by "rings" in the Universal logo used starting in the mid-1960's, they're supposed to represent the Van Allen radiation belt, discovered by the first U.S. satellite in 1958. Later pictures of the Earth taken by Apollo astronauts going to the moon showed that the Van Allen belts are invisible.

  • @altfactor really? I always wondered what's with those rings. Good call.

  • Who the heck is this "Shamley" dude who keeps appearing in the Revue logos???

  • @TheComicfreak10 It's Alfred Hitchcock's production company.

  • wow the first one compared to the last one, its like comparing atarii to 360 :O even though atarii kicks ass.

  • theres more

  • In what year did they go from the Revue fanfare to the five-note fanfare? It was some time in the late '70s, I'm guessing. The Revue fanfare was much better, I think.

  • @rockhopper10r

    It was 1975.

  • 1:08...freak me out!!!!!

  • Excelent clips!!!!!!!!!!

  • the triangle logo on ch.9 million dollar movies!

  • 4:12 THE BEST!!!

  • At 7.33 the Universal Television logo was used on the edited (and unedited) BBC/Universal Television TV Movie Dr.Who starring Paul Mc Gann shown on TV and issued on VHS but this was omitted from the DVD release of it.

  • the one from MCA-TV that is from Xena Warrior Princess and Hercules

  • I always liked Universal City bette than Universal Studios

  • The Revue jingle is always worth watching cause it's so majestic

  • We had Universal TV logos since 1951!!! Excellent job!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW! what a great collection!

  • Adding more logos makes a lot more sense!!!!!

  • I have been looking for these for YEARS. Thanks! : )

  • Si no te gusta ¿para qué diablos comentas?.

  • Is there any way you can provide annotations about the logos year and what program it comes from?

  • This is terrific. I am curious about where you found some of these since they are pretty rare. Do you have access to a MCA / Universal video library?

  • what video library?

  • Universal is one company in Universal City Calf. it is whare the NBCUniversal buliding and Revue is the first name for Universal

  • Comment removed

  • There's a still at 7:33. Should've had the globe turning.

  • I hate the 1987 Universal jingle the Revue jingle and reorchestrations of it were better

  • Chiller preserves old logos ? cool btw nice job on the montage it looks great

  • No, MTE stands for 'MCA Television Enterprises/Entertainment,' as someone else has said.

  • wonder what MTE means?

  • MCA Television Enterprise/Entertainment.

  • That's MCA Television Enterprises (MCA TV) and MCA Television Entertainment (MTE)

  • 1:55-2:00 is majestic

  • 0:31 to 0:39 kicks!

  • MCA is Music Corporation of America.

  • 3:25 cracks me up. It's the "El Gordo" version of the Universal Theme.

  • I'll be there is a logo plaster here

  • You know what I find cool? From 5:48 to 6:38 you can hear a different version of the background music.

  • Make that 5:48 to 7:06 you hear that theme.

  • That... with the exception of the MTE logo themes.

  • you should've put which year each logo was released.

  • This has nothing to do with the video but I love your display name because my parents' names are Terry and Craig.

  • Comment removed

  • Two things: (1) The MCA TV logo at 0:24 scares the crap out of me, and (2) Who is the man in the Revue-J&M Production logo at 1:10?

  • Looks like Jack Benny at 1:10.

  • It is Jack Benny

  • Comment removed

  • At 5:12 they start ripping off the V of Doom theme.

  • Wow.... It's Scariest

  • You THINK that's Viacom's V Of Doom, but it's not when you see the film at 5:12.

  • I don't think it's actually the V of Doom. I just think the music sounds similar.

  • @soupfan1

The obvious difference being the last two notes, and the very last note on both jingles is very dramatic. The timpani roll on the 1st version of the UTV music is also quite obvious.

  • @1shorty211

You forgot what to say to me?

  • Some of the later ones are stereo!

  • MTE is my favorite

  • My favorite Revue would be 0:56 (if only it had used the long theme), and my favorite Universal is 4:47.

  • The beginning of 6:42 sounds like a train wreck.

  • 7:18 I remember that one from Dream On

  • 6:13 - WTF

  • 3D OH FUCK

  • Where was the 2th Kayro -Vue From

  • can you upload some universal television logos from 1977 and 1979 please?

  • Hello: RE: Mexican music: I'd never thought of that throughout all the years MCA-Universal had the musical trademark... until now. It *DOES* has a Spanish tint!! LOL Thank, dude. This thing made my day.

  • I like the mexican ending on some of them

  • Me to!

  • Me 3!

  • That might be because the guy who wrote that stinger was Juan Esquivel.... :-)

  • The music keeps playing over and over again. LOL!

  • This would be cruel and unusual punishment (under the 4th or 5th US Constitutional Amendment) if inmates would be tied and gagged. And have to be forced to listen to ALL THIS for LIFE!!!

After listening to this horror (over and over and over) no human being in their right frame of mind would ever think of committing any crimes anytime soon!!!!! AGH!!!

  • Yes, there are so many variants to the famous music.

  • which logo appeared after the rockford files?

  • GAAAH!! FRICKEN GREENS!!!

  • SAME FRAKIN MUSIC

  • Where did you get the one at 4:02 ?

  • That is just great! I liked the music on all of them. It kind of made me laugh, though. The way music sound on them. But it was very nice!

  • Hard to recognize it as Universal as Universal Television used to be Revue, I think NBC has lots of shows associated by Universal Television. The camera logo sounded like the 1st Revue logo. sounds a little scary.

  • What's the meaning of MTE?

  • MCA Television Enterprises

  • TYSM (Thank you so much!)

  • Leave it to Beaver

  • Where did the Mexican Sounding MCA Logo at 03:59 come from?

  • Rod Serling's "Night Gallery"

  • The theme at 7:26 was written by James Horner, the guy who wrote the music for Land Before Time

(no wonder that music's so cute)

  • Yeah, I like the Horner one; it's not as loud as most of 'em are.

  • hypnotically weird!!!!!

  • Wow.

  • 5:26 is from Bionic Woman, and that was a good show with Lindsay Wagner, and there was a good 80's show on "Sleuth" called Miami Vice at 6:31,and my favorite

    is 5:41, 5 stars for this JohnnyL80.

  • Thanks for giving us more of those Universal logos!

Now I hope that somebody will post the end themes going into the logos (from "Marcus Welby", "McMillan & Wife", "Alias Smith & Jones", etc.) That would be terrific!

  • Happy 50th anniversary NBC/Universal, and loved the 80's Universal theme, and I know some unversal shows from the 80's

thanks for posting the the logo Johnny.

  • This is taken from the 1959 TV series "The Deputy".

  • wow 50 years from Revue to NBC Universal. I liked Revue's theme, its triumphant. they sure used it for a long time

  • they need to bring back the revue theme

  • Starting at 5:00 the music sounded just like the Viacom music
