I've watched the whole series of videos of you raising the little cutey. I don't think I would have had the strength you did, to let her go and live in the wild. I don't think I could have let the cute little fuzzy go.
@ncolt45gmail It certainly wasn't easy to let her go and I would be lying if I said the thought hadn't crossed my mind to keep her, but she really needed to be living the life she was born for. LOL if you think it was hard to let her go after 4 weeks imagine how hard it was to let the squirrels go after they'd been with me for 5 months!!!
That was so hard! However, it was the right thing to do and they survived very well in the wild, continuing to return to the garden after release.
Though its rightful place is in the wild with other stoats to play and hunt with, I would be so tempted to keep it. Probably because my favorite type of pets are ferrets.
I know that! That's why she was taken to the wildlife sanctuary where I work to have a soft release. She released herself 3 weeks later.
Unfortunately I had no choice regarding having her on her own, as her sister didn't survive and I couldn't go out and 'manufacture' another baby stoat to grow up with her so there was no choice.
Aww, totally adorable. Since Jess said she was gonna close KL, I kinda just drifted away from there so lost touch, but great to see you are still looking after our great British characters :)
At 00:01:26, she couldn't be any cuter. I loved the way she dashed at the cam, then tore away in reverse!
Even though they are no where near as adorable as this... mammals are just so warm, LOL, this Saturday I will finally release the ten last baby treefrogs I've been raising for the past eleven months. Trust me, they are adorable in their own way and I'll really miss them. Bittersweet is definitely the word for it.
We're all going to miss her too. She's been great to watch over the time you've had her and I guess all thats left is to wish her well for the future.
Feorag: seriously, you deserve an award for the dedication and loyalty you consistently show towards wildlife. I wish there were many more as dedicated you are towards their cause.
Thank you for sharing your wildlife with us all. :-D
@feorag I'm very, very relieved that you took this little beauty to a wildlife centre rather than releasing her directly into the wild. Some people just let the creatures they've raised from infancy go straight back into the wild, but they don't realize they're virtually leaving them to die.
Thank you so much for this video! I have been searching for the vocals of these animals and I finally heard some in your video!

I did for ages after she left, but knowing she was living the natural life she should have been made up for it.

I'm so glad she grew up healthy! Yes, I must of been so melancholy and bittersweet to let her go, I hope she's happy and healthy wherever she is now

Thank you very much - what a very kind thing to say, but to be totally honest, I love every minute of it, so it's not hard work at all.
I did feel totally guilty when I walked away from work leaving her behind, but she does need to be away from me now as she's too tame at the minute.
