just a litttle tip. when your doing your white tips make sure you do one and make sure you like and use that as a tempate for the other nails. i have am self-taught and been doing it for about 2 yearsnow and thats how i get my nails all the same size and length. brilliant job for a 1st timer though. keep it up hun!!!!!
loved the video....very helpful!! and i found a drill that my moms nail lady uses and it was only $22 with tax and everything at walmart. and it's a really good drill. my moms nail lady recommended it and she loves it. so do i. it's a DREMEL 7300 it's cordless, very light and it comes with a rechargable battery and charger
If anyone is looking for drills n live in Australia or in any country that has a red dot store go there to get them usually there $9 but they have $3 for the past month due to over stock and they work really good same to the ones on eBay
I am not sure how true it is, or if it helps with the process at all...but when I used to get my nails done, the lady would also file the tip so it wasnt as thick (at the end that you glue on). I have been trying to figure out how to do these at home to keep them on and look like a pro did them. I think you did an amazin job at showin and with detail as well.
You did a wonderful job on this video. I have been researching how to apply my own acrylic nails and found your video to be very helpful. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this. You explained it all very well and I'm looking forward to trying it myself now.
i have acrylic tips and i got 500 tips for £2.15 haha and i got all the other stuff to do acrylic for £7.38 and you spend £100 thats way to much lovey
great video! ... heres a small tip... when you're done putting the acrylic on and filing them, add 1 drop of cuticle oil to ure nails. it makes them shine right away and makes the cuticle relax after all that filing. then add the clear coat. works great! :)
@heatherhux0317 hey pure acetone will keep your brush clean i use that with the nail's get another glass thing & put your acetone in it after you put on the power dip it in the acetone & after you are done with your nail's i always let it sit in there for 5 min's if you have any other question's just ask i've went to school for it my friend seen this so thought i'd give you some tip's
@hairmakeup10t Depends on how well you do it and how well you follow the steps. As well as, how fast your nails grow. My nails personally grow really fast so it lasts about 12-14 days before either lifting or looking gnarly lol.
The proper way to pick up a ball of acrylic is to use one side of ur brush and slightly drag it in the acrylic. U always start at the smile line using the 3 ball method which means u will use a medium size ball for the smile line and one for the tip and one for the nail bed.
U need to soak ur brush in pure acetone to get it clean. U should use a kolinsky number 8 round brush to do ur nails it's the best one. Always have a paper towel on top of ur towel to wipe ur brush before u dip it back in the liquid.
To get the access acrylic nail powder on the brush off just soak it in pure acetone overnight, I just leave my brush in the bottle! Really good job I finally did my nails right! Thanks so much !
Im going to try to do nails for the 1st time just waiting for my things to come in the mail. Found this Very helpful, didn't mind all the talking haha.
@pink54694 haha! ive used clippers before but it is way more difficult for me. The nail place Ive been to for years just cut it with scissors. You just need to make sure you wait for the glue to dry.
@Serahooper Mine sometimes turn out matte and griddy I just use an acrylic topcoat from sally hansen from the drugstore...I use a thick layer and they look great after!
where is a good spot to do acrylic nails at and how did you learn how to do acrylic nails i love to do nails but i just dont know the right place to work at!!!!!!!!!!
@GlitterGlamBoss I do it in my moms really big bathroom and open all the doors and windows and make sure its a big room and well ventilated and just make sure to close all the bottles really quickly and after your finished leave the room for a good hour or two...wear a hospital mask too if the smell bothers you a lot, those help. I learned from watching several youtube videos, google & watching and observing when I got my nails done at salons. :)
Well another thing I recognized is that u dip it in the wring way allways put ur brush slanted and dipp it in from 1 side because if u dipp it in straight it will have powder on both sides and u end up just using it in 1 side and Thats how u get ur brush all bad and stuck with powder. And it's me the girl again
Omg srry j didn't even get 2 finish so buy the brush cleaner and that will work alot and srry this is not my account this is my Brothers but ima girl an I have all that and I experimented the clear powder an it sucked so those r my recommendations 2 u thanks
Hey u were asking why does it tend 2 yellow alot well it's because the asp brand does that oftenly with the clear powder so I recommend get a different brand of powder another is the brush buy the brush cleaner u can get it a sallysbuetysuppliea
@Opimac: U r more than welcome. I've been doing hair & nails for over 15 years and I'm still learning. You are doing an excellent job, so you will be a pro in no time. BTW, Beauty Secrets makes a "no odor" polymer that I love. The smell from the regular formula seems to linger forever! It's available at Sally's as well.
If the acrylic hardens on your brush, soak the bristles in pure acetone and it will come off. Also, apply the dehydrator PRIOR to applying your tips to help them adhere better. As you perfect your application you won't have to replace your nails so often. You shouldn't have to replace them unless you want to because even a break is repairable :-)
@KYVirgo Thank you so much!! Im still learning so sometimes they pop off earlier then I would like, so thank you! And hopefully I can rescue my brush <3
Great tutorial & very informative. I took notes! There was a couple of things I didn't know to do so thanks again for being so thorough! I own a Dremel tool kit w/several attach. Do you think this will do? Also, I plan on purchasing UV topcoat gel & lamp since I LOVE them to be super shiny & I don't ever have to re-apply clear polish! Again, great job!
@imsanders71 Im glad!! Any drill should do....I would definitely suggest a UV topcoat and lamp because my normal topcoat just doesnt really do the job properly. Thanks a lot and I hope it helped x
@LizaMastro101 Usually for me about 7-9 days and then usually one comes off then I remove them...I will have a video on that but there is two ways....cutting them down and filing them and then soaking them off with pure actetone....or cutting them, filing them, and gently lifting them off...but it does hurt and isnt good for your nails so make sure to coat them with oil after doing both treatments! :)
@Opimac, I think your brush problem has to do with you using a synthetic brush you should try using beauty secrets red sable natural hair brushes. the reason they clump up is because the chemicals is burning the strands of the brush and thats why they clump up. Hopefully this helps you out.
Great video! 1. Never heard it called a smile line. Always called it a seam. 2. You could probably get a super comparable brush at Michaela. 3. Acetone should clean the brush.
@sillystupidpastime I heard "smile line" on a couple vids!! I tried the acetone but it was so far soaked in, it did nothing :( thanks for the awesome tips though
they have this simiar kit in the brand broadway for about 25 bucks at the drugstore where you can do ur own acrylic nails... its in the section where you find glue on nails... it gives u 2 sets of applications worth (only have enough nails tips for bout 2 applications).
@TheGLOSSette Are they premade acrylics...like ones you just glue on or a whole entire kit just with mini products? I seen something like that at Sallys!
@Opimac they are nail tips as well (not glue one the whole nail)... i just saw some vids of people doing ones from the brand Kiss and they are even easier and look soo professional but the Kiss ones have similar ones to the one you have (the one that take longer to do)
