Being a Man. United supporter (hold your disdain), I always loved the games against the Dons, and would go for them when they didn't cross paths. It's a shame it had to happen, and I agree, I hope Wimbledon and MK meet up...
@FevDuo The time was not right, if the performance against Stevenage was anything to go by they would have been easily beaten anyway. Stevenage completely outplayed and outmuscled AFC in the first half. AFC played better in the second half but the damage was already done. They have a long way to go yet to get to League standard
As a Liverpool supporter I'd like to apologise for my team being too shite to beat Bradford >.< Hope to see the REAL Dons in the Football League next season . . .
Your probably right but they did it althose years ago with a fan base the same size but times have changed I guess. I still think they'll make it at least back into the football league in the next few seasons. Frankly the Premier League doesn't appeal to me anyway just a bunch of overpaid and underworked ponces in the main !
Although AFC Wimbledon had 3000 for combined counties football, their attendances havn't gone up since then. Something you would expect from a side rising through the leagues.
If AFC Wimbledon want to rise much further they need to create a bigger fan base than the one that was ultimately their downfall than that which was at Plough Lane and latterly Selhurst Park.
There are clubs with smaller fanbases that survive in the Football League though they are very much League Two clubs. Look at Accrington and Macclesfield for example. Their attendances may well grow if they reach the 'promised land' of the Football League, though they will probably will be in the lower leagues for the foreseeable future.
I hate MK Don's too as does every AFC supporter and we long for the day when we finally come to play them either in the League or the FA Cup and smash the living daylights out of them - the imposters !
I can absolutely agree with her. If they do ever cross paths, a riot or a massive punch up between the two is forseeable, as well as a big grudge match.
It still hurts so much. Devastating. Jupp was so Ropey, and Kimble at left wing? "The whole future of the club may depend on the outcome of this game". Little did we know how true that would become.

@hollpoll Not that long! 8 months after your comment and they now are league standard. Not had a bad start in L2 either.

Just a question.. do you ex-wimbledon fans support AFC Wimbledon now?
I can't even begin to fathom how awful it must have been to support Wimbledon around this time - the football league fucked you over well and truly.

My ex hates MK Dons. She said that if they and AFC Wimbledon ever met, there would be a riot.
MrTvfreak2008 2 years ago
It's a shame that cause its hardly the fans fault that the owners decided to alienate them.
But then again, this is football and violence tends to be the answer to everything and anything :-)

wimbledon had such rubbish support.

The ones we had were fucking hardcore mate. How many other clubs would start again with 3000+ fans attending combined counties level football.

And a big thanks to those club killing scum at Milton Kunt for murdering our club.
