Excellent question and important issue. The people footing the bill for the outcome meetings presently held behind closed doors have long wondered how seriously their interests were taken into account. Perhaps the candidates can tell us why and how much longer this will go on.

I would love to hear the response of the candidates to this question, assuming they give a direct answer rather than "skirting" the issue. My own opinion is that there is too much secrecy in the government that claims to be "of the people".

Great question. I hope that each candidate will give an honest response to this issue. The governor is the voice of the taxpayer in these negotiations, and therefore the taxpayer should know exactly what's happening at the bargaining table.

now, wouldn't that be fun! Some states actually allow the public (and media) to sit in without offering their own comments. Actually watching people negotisate how to spend my money....I'm there!

Oh and another thing, doesn't it seem like there's just a teensy weensy bit of a conflict of interest going on when the governor is negotiating contracts with the unions behind closed doors at the same time she is receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars from them in campaign contributions?
