  • LOOKS JUST LIKE MY SON WITH AUTISM

  • How is he doing now? Have you got him diagnosed, My son shows similar symptoms. I really hope he outgrew this and became a normal preschool kid. Please let us know

  • i would get him tested and urself as my daughter has a intelcial disablity in her genes if u or ur husband has something it can be passed down my iq was around 70 which is below the average of 85 plus try getting a appointment 2 the pedotrician thats what im doing my daughter has short concintration u ask her something like goodbye or her name she will wait 10 or more secs for a reaction.

  • He is not talking, and he is walking on his toes and flapping his arms. I'm going to say it is highly likely. Plus, he ran right to that water! This video was posted several years ago...has he been diagnosed?

  • I have a asperger child and this was some signs also of the signs of autism was he ever delayed in walking etc. My son would always cry and throw temper tantrums and have to have the same carpet square in school line things up and toe walking etc. I would def get him checked.

  • My son is Autistic and acts very much like this, and i only see him notice you are there 2 times for like a second but you would have to have him tested to be certain even if your doctor doesn't feel he needs it. It is free through most states to have him checked. if it is Autisum you can move on to the next step get him help if its isn't then you cna stop worring and move on!

  • The hands in front of the face thing is so much like my son. Toe walking is almost always a red flag. Another thing to look for is if he stacks things, blocks, cans, anything like that, or if he lines his toys up or arranges things for extended periods of time. Another possible indication is his speech. Is he verbal? By 20 months he should be able to string 3 or 4 words together. My son will be 4 in a few weeks and still no verbal. He never did have hand flapping, until he discovered helicopters

  • I dont think so, but I would have to see someone interact with him to be certain. He just looks like hes playing to me. And hes not showing the excessive interest focusing that seems to be the hallmark of the disorder. Very few autistic kids will jump from activity to activity like that...

  • At first he seems typical, but he does show some characteristics, toe walking, hand flapping, and the weird body movements remind me of my son who does those odd wiggles and hand movements by his face... I'd get him eval. better safe than sorry.

  • Was wondering why TV was on when no one was watching it. Don't think that's too good for any kid with constant TV. He might enjoy if you got down on the floor and played with him. Like people around him but he actually appeared to be very alone - other than your questions about going out or in.

  • I hate when people think their kid is autistic when they just do things that

are sorta umbnormal for a grownup

to do what in it is a little kid!!!!

Or baby!!! He looks like he is

    playing airplane!!! And dancing

    to a song on tv!!

  • Its normal is what the dr's told me about both of my girls. My oldest was said to have autism by her ped, but the specialists said it was my parenting and all kids do such behaviors, it just depends how long they do it whether predicting autism or not. Both of my kids flap, rock, spin, etc and I was told by a specialist all of this is normal. My oldest was said to have a communication disorder and oppositional defiant by the specialists. Who knows? I really don't know anymore, though.

  • He could be having peti mal seizures those stares, How is he doing? this was posted 2009 has he been diagnosed?

  • @peapodpixie1973 Looks to me like he was playing, then got distracted by the music coming from the house "hot, hot, hot" (stared and was listening), then he wanted to go back inside. Looked typical kid to me and not a petit mal.

  • As a parent of a child with autism, yes, i'd say your child exhibits a number of telltale traits.. Off the top of my head, arm and hand flapping, aimless walking, a lack of awareness of surroundings ("off in their own world"), moving of the hands and fingers infront of the eyes, toe walking, unusual body contortions/poses.

You need to see a developmental pediatrician for a proper assessment (or try taking the M-CHAT test online), and look into putting him on a gluten-free, casein-free diet.

  • he's bored.

  • try turning off the TV... that may help. ;)

  • @massive611 - wtf???? What type of remark is that????

  • @massive611 I was thinking that too. Glad you said it first.

  • my grandson was diagnosed by 18 mos... hope fully this video isn't too old and you still have time to contact early intervention call your local number... and if he is over 3 contact child find... look on the internet for your local office... but i think you are smart enough to know your child, my newest daughter is 14 mos and is starting early intervention and is likely going to be diagnosed also... my oldest daughter is 22 and suffers from severe social difficulties.

  • then he start to listening our leanguage slovenian, but problem is slovenia was part of yugoslavia an our parents leanguage is bosnian and we some times talk bosnian, maybe this confuse him?he stand on tips of toa only he want reach something, andf he like to make mess whit food too make me clean a tv or fhit pen write on computer or he make disorder whit dipers we stock dipers in a closeth and he destroied, and when i call him some times dont want look at me but some time jes dady!

  • I am not an expert however appears to have some form of PDD, maybe Autism. The TV is not good for him, we learned that too late.

  • He reminds me of my son, my son stims jumping & some arm flapping, things is when they are young it isnt as obvious. I see things that'd make me wonder, I DEF think you should watch my videos, there r some things I see in your son that my son does, when people think autism they think rainman, mild ASD isnt the same ~ a developmental ped can DX for sure! on the same token it doesnt mean he has it either, I'd love to hear more about what he does :) hugs and good luck ~ watch all my videos :)

  • Was he a preemie? From what I can see he's just a 20 month old baby. I noticed that you allow him to watch TV. It has been proven that children under 2 years old who are allowed to watch TV are delayed in their development. A lot of kids walk on their toes. A lot of kids would rather play in muddy water than with their toys. I wouldn't worry about it too much, he looks pretty normal to me. If you're still worried about it when he's 2, ask his pediatrition. Good luck♥

  • How's he doing?

  • Really hard to say from this. Would need to see his response in interaction. On positive side he did communicate his wish to go inside and attempt to show/give a toy.
