  • Great sound and above all great musicians!!!!!

  • the bass drum appears have two d112?

what would you recommend for studio drum overheads, a pair of c-1000 or a par of c430? good video, thanks¡

  • Previously on NIGHT COURT.....

  • beautiful ! I don`t understand what`s with the 4 dislikes , DEAF PEOPLE

  • I thought my AKG clip-on bell mic (same one as the sax is using) for my sax was broke. But, turns out, no one new how to mix it, and some phantom power systems didn't want to work with it (why, I don't know). But, it works great on my new 90 Watt keyboard amp/PA! Since I thought it was broke, I abused the hell out of it in the back of my lock-box all winter, and it still plays like new! It's back in the case, ready for gigging again!

  • Nice, what effects did you use on the kit? any eq or re-verb on the overheads ?

  • and what mic is on the snare top? it dosent seem to be a D40..

  • What the mouthpiece uses sax player ??

  • funkadelic

  • really nice recording, perfectly mixed.....you never mic a bass amp though. always go d.i. with a bass

  • I would not say that you NEVER record a bass with a mic.

most users use the di option because it's easier and ok for most applications/songs. especially if you work with a daw and use a amp modeling software for post processing.

but sometimes you want a true analog sound which just can be achieved by using a real amp. So you need a mic. Normally you record through a d.i. and then reamp the recorded tracks with an amp and mic later. so you have both options.

  • what i forgot to say. it's always a matter of taste. and how your bass sound should be.

  • I agree with you there. i guess in this application using a mic was ideal to demonstrate the use of an akg mic on a bass amp. in a lot of situations though a d.i. with a bass gives you some more flexibility. i'm glad to see that akg is in touch with there customers, especially through youtube. i have a lot of respect for akg and have been more than pleased with the akg products that i use

  • same for AKG (me). we try to get into direct contact with customers and youtube is a great way to do that.

    thanks for using our products

  • oh no no no, DI when possible, but if the amp doesnt havea DI option, just sticka D6 or D112 in front of it

  • @andrewdrums175 there is no NEVER in Music or Art. Given the result, I would say try a mic.... breaking rules is what makes Music an Art. It's what keeps it new, fresh, makes it move and change. That's what makes it interesting.

  • @andrewdrums175 micing bass is by a degree harder then micing guitars... however if you know how, you get killer bass tone...

  • I would like to see a Leslie Mic'd by a D112 on the lower rotor.

  • Video needs deinterlacing.

    Audio is good though ;).

  • sweet you guys got a similar vibe to cat empire

  • sounds verry nice!

  • only one d112? or there is another one inside?

  • there is a second one inside the bassdrum

  • damn listen to that funk

  • Amazing!! I love jazz and I hope to do the saxophone one day. Look at him go!! Wow now He's good and the songs catchy!! Im going to listen to this everyday!! Love It! Enjoy it! You only live once.....
