Correct, the melody comes from "The Voyagers - Distant Planet".

Composed in 1984 by Dora Carofiglio and Lino Nicolosi.

But totally different lyrics in both songs.

I think this song by Sheila Stewart is also very good.

She has a wonderful voice.

It's a sad shame that the original can no longer be found here. I found a beautiful and haunting anime video to go with it. But that has been removed as well. I can't add this to my favorites.
