I agree that a good cellist will always feel the music, and understand the meaning; for without doing so, how can you play it with the feelings it was written with?

Every composer had an idea behind every piece they composed. You have to be able to imagine that meaning to play the piece correctly.

The swan is a beautiful piece, and your meaning, I feel, was dead on, your interpretation of the piece. Gorgeous. Boy, I wish I had played like you when I was 11....I didn't have the funds to do so.:(

Oh my goodness. This boy, he sure is something great. He's so great at expressing emotions, whether it be through music or words. Too bad I don't have my cello at the moment.. :) when i play i let my emotions flow through my heart and into my cello. when i do, i believe you can make the music, any kind, may it be old mcdonald had a farm to little symphony or a glorious piece from bach, come to live and really play it to its fullest. my advice to people that are beginning, pour your heart and soul out with every bow stroke. i may not be an expert, but i do know what it means to be a true cellist.

I agree with FernandoH321 - it takes work but it's not some sort of unreachable thing. I started violin 4 years ago when I had pretty much just turned 16, my first ever instrument - now I've just started degree level music. It just takes practice and passion!

I love this piece! I wept when I saw this on tv. The passion on his face, the concentration, the joy--rare. It reminds me of when I first picked up my instrument, and for me it was hard to put it down. Plus he is an adorable little bugger too!
