@mrcookierocks: No, David can not give 100% for the classical- music, because he has his crossover- music, too...and a lot of other dates. He hasn`t the time to concentrate on it(Sorry, my English`s not so GOOD : ( )
If I would be someone in a profound orchestra, I would pick all flowers from all over the world and give it to him : ))
Wenn David mit all seinem Gefühl spielt, werdet ihr es wohl kaum hören...
@jch009tia: No, "Which means he`s BORED, which means, that he knows, that the audience will clap anyhow."
Ich kann auch nur dichten, wenn ich inspiriert bin...irgendein Gedicht vortragen vor Publikum würde mich auch irgendwann langweilen...Es ist ein Unterschied, ob man eine Seele erreichen will....oder Kohle.
@BezalyFan1: Why do you allways have to compare?? She`s playing it perfectly, of course, but there`s nothing reaching me, really nothing.
I`m sure, that David is able to play it as perfectly as she did, but he doesn`t, because he doesn`t want to. And he tries to change it, he tries to create something new(David Garrett,MoMag)...that`s the difference between interpret and artist.
@OOOGOODOOO "I`m sure, that David is able to play it as perfectly as she did, but he doesn`t, because he doesn`t want to" Which means he's arrogant, and the exact reason why he doesn't execute it as beautifully as Mutter does.
@OOOGOODOOO garrett is obviously talented, but theres a reason why he isnt particularly looked up to as a really classical musician who plays bach with all this feeling that she plays with...and im sure he doesnt get flowers from someone in a profound orchestra.
Did anyone of you watched Gerrett's version?? That on (of Garrett) is completely horrible in contrast to THAT! I love the way Anne Sophie-Mutter plays... not just this piece, everything she plays great!
But seriously, Garrett's version is awful in constrast to this...!
@PhunB Some teachers do not approve of using shoulder rests so she might have grown up without one. Even though, I do not use one because I find them uncomfortable. A lot of it just depends on personal preference.
@mrmusicfan11 I'm just discovering that my sound is much better with no shoulder rest... though I would like some sort of alternative that doesn't stifle the sound at all.. Any advice? :/
@tristan01101 Well, a Huber pad lets you get more grip and it brings your ear closer to the violin. As for the stifling, if it did not stifle before then you should go back to open bowing as the coordination of where the bow is on the string will be different. If it did before as well then I would recommend that you bow in a mirror so you can see precisely how straight the bow is to the bridge. If it still does not work keep a loose bow hold and keep it smooth while moving. Good luck!!
@tristan01101 I've heard its only beause your ears in a different place relative to where the sounds coming from that it sounds different. It certainly sounds different to me without a rest though.
