yea some more cyclist who dnt give a fuck about other people. they are gona slow 50 more other people from going where they go because they HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO SO.. bullshit cyclist how hard would it be for them to et the coach past and they keep on....too hard cyclist are asshole in the most case
i sense a lot of faggotry in these youtube comments. "cyclists have every right motorists do" no. they dont. roads were built for cars. bikes riding on the SIDE OF THE ROAD like they are SUPPOSED to is considered a luxury. I truly hate every cyclist i see on the road because all of you think that because you are on wheels you can do whatever the hell youd like. dont get pissed when a car cuts you off, why not GET OFF THE ROAD and wear something other than a gay leotard. fucking idiots
@rustyeffect oh im sorry were cars invented before bikes, or before horse and carts..... no they wernt. and i think by your comment you seem to think you own the road because your a lazy bastard!
I am a cyclist and have been since I wa a little boy, I am now 39 years young and although I can appreciate what you try to get across I think most of your stuff is rubbish, you seem to winge about the merest thing and I can see why taxi drivers and the like around your town take a dislike to you. You post absolute tripe up and 'make mountains out of mole-hills' If I was out cycling with you I would give you reason to complain as I feel I would be inclined to elbow you under a bus.
A bus was passing me as I was cycling in Cambridge last week just before a stop where a passenger suddenly emerged but the driver knew it wouldn't be possible to pull in without putting me in danger so kept straight and wide until I was ahead again, then pulled in. I've been squeezed into the kerb in similar situations before but this was A+ bus driving the way we like it.
I think it's called common sense driving? If your about to pull up and stop, it's logical to trail it for a couple of seconds rather than over take it and stop in front of it
You'd be amazed how many drivers don't do that though. It's very common for a driver to overtake only to pull into their driveway a few seconds afterwards, or to immediately join the end of a traffic jam!
At least here in Finland even though bicycles are "vehicles", they are not treated as such. They are constantly going under the speed limit, and that is worth a fine.
However, thats why cyclists need to stay on the edge of the road and give room to those who actually can go at the speed limit. You dont get to fool around in the middle of the road going 20mph like a retard.
did i miss summit? yes there was a stagecoach bus....yes there was a bike(s) but he wasn't being polite i don't think, just do what he should! the dick head driving the white van should have his tyres taken late at night!
Since the bus driver was approaching a bus stop, without the time or distance to pass, I'd say the bus driver had absolutely no choice other than to follow the bicyclists. If given a choice, I doubt he would waste either time or gas putting along behind a slow cyclist for any distance.
The point is, cyclists have bad experiences with buses overtaking, then immediately pulling over and stopping. If it's bad, you either get caught on the inside of a vehicle moving towards the kerb, or lungs full of diesel and your safe braking space taken away. When it's done nicely, this should be recognised and is appreciated.
as a bus driver for stagecoach, i wait and give way the forms are lond and boring if we have a crunch, To your comment about buses overtaking, cyclists do 15-20mph we can not hold up a row of traffic, i never go around a cyclist if i know i have to pull over at the next stop but quite often a passenger will ring the bell quite late. i would also ask cyclists not to come up the inside of my vehicle at lights so I have to sit behind them until safe to pass
Nice comments thank you - It's much worse than forms if a cyclist is involved in a "crunch" as we have no protective metal cage around us and fragile bodies. There are many polite bus drivers about - I'm sure you're one of them
@proudenglish1984 Good comment! If more people tried to understand the needs of other road users, no matter what method of transport they're using, the roads would be far safer. Yeh I know we're slow, and I also know that when I'm driving being stuck behind someone travelling very slowly can be a pain, but often a small amount of patience can avoid nasty accidents. When I'm on my bike I also try to make way for faster traffic, so long as I don't endanger myself, and NEVER undertake!
Id say the bus driver did good on this one, This is typically how i react...either give them plenty of room or accept ill be crawling along for a bit.
Redundant signalling though isnt it - 99% of road vehicles no longer use hand signals, and the only accepted bike signals are arms-out to indicate direction. Even in cycle proficiency etc you are not taught to signal for slowing as too many hand signals get confusing for drivers who are not used to them.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Cyclists should not be allowed on the roads, the roads are designed for cars, busses and lorrys, not cyclists. They should either (a) catch the bus themselves or (b) get a decent job so they can afford a car which are far better than cycles anyway. I think they are so good I have two of them.
...I've met bulls shitting a lot nicer than you...
If you attempted to be funny, it didn't work at all.
If I should give any solution to get the bikes off the road, it would be truck / bus lanes underground, no pendler cars and half the roads made bike tracks instead.
That would help us all, except for the lazy ones.
you must be a lazy piece of shit. i cycle, not because i cant afford a vehicle, but because i love cycling. i dont understand how you can compare a car with a bike as they are totally different. ive seen bikes that cost more than £10000 which is more than some cars anyway.
This bus driver was reading the road ahead. A passenger was planning on boarding the bus and the driver observed the cyclist and planned accordingly i.e. he allowed them to proceed before pulling into the bus stop. We dont all hate cyclists!!!
Also you keep on about HGVs, and Coaches are intimidating to cyclists, Please show me any clip where you show intimidation to either ! You blatently aim for any vehicle in your path large or small stop feet or sometimes inches from them and cry wolf. I detect a bad smell and it isnt vehicle emissions.
Paul How many times do you NOT read the replies. PLEASE ring Cambridge Constabulary.Your quote "ABOUT 1/2 of deaths of cyclists SEEM to involve HGVs" CARS KILL more cyclists in cities, and that is the case in Cambrdige and Cambridgeshire. In the majority of cases the cyclists are at fault. More pedestrean accidents in Cambridge involve cyclists lack of Highway code than involving HGVs too.
Again paul, its a two way street, buses and trucks look for you, and you look for them, if one doesn't, or react to the other safely and competantely (in the interests of safety, whether you should or the other party should act), there will always be a 100% danger risk, its not about who has the bigger vehicle, its about who can be responsible to be safe, thats the key here !
"Buses are big and cyclists often feel intimidated by such large vehicles especially when not driven considerately", paul, yes they are intimidating, hence why EVERY road user should give them a very wide berth, for your own safety and for common sense, ignoring this causes everything that you have posted.
..... Your videos clearly show you have a BIG problem with trucks and buses, and anyone who isn't quite as perfect as you, your the last person to be quoting care on the road.
Well, there is a big problem with fatalities involving lorries and cyclists in cities. About half the cycling deaths seem to involve HGVs. Buses are big and cyclists often feel intimidated by such large vehicles especially when not driven considerately.
"The art of good driving or cycling implies anticipating problems and accident avoidance. Sounds like you weren't looking and didn't care." A bit pots and kettles that is, your videos show the complete oposite with you trying to cause the accident most of the time, and going on the rest of your vids, i'd say you stopped here just to see if the bus overtook and pulled across the bike ?
Yes, I stopped to see what was going to happen and publish events as seen. The bus was driven considerately. Cyclists appreciate that kind of bus driving.
Bike riders want to start following the highway code. I flattened a cyclist as he overtook me on the inside of me at a set of traffic lights. I Done his bike in and he was actually severely warned by a traffic cop. Its just not the odd occaision these things happen it pretty often and yes I have 25 years driving coaches under my belt, along with his bike ha ha. TWAT!
A responsible driver would check nearside mirror before and during start up at traffic lights and stop if likely to cause injury even if someone else is in error. The art of good driving or cycling implies anticipating problems and accident avoidance. Sounds like you weren't looking and didn't care.
i agree with th last comment. i drive 4 stagecoach myself an well 2 b honest not all cyclists think logically bout busses. hmmm big 13 metre long vehicle, not fastest or smallest of things, mite not b able t pass me as quick as a car can but yet most of th cyclists still keep going....annoys me big time. bus didnt pass cos he had a stop coming up! simple as
Yes, it would be polite to wait for cyclist to clear first. When I'm driving, I don't attack the space between cyclist and parked vehicle by standing on accelerator. I'd either do it gently or wait. Bus was nice!
I always follow cyclists to bus stops. They only pass you at the next one and there is always loads of running time on most routes.

Surprisingly few car drivers understand hand signals. They have to learn them for their test and then forget soon afterwards.
If you signal that you're about to stop, more often than not they'll think you're about to turn right!
