I enjoyed the film, the aircraft were more authentic. The Sheen plywood on the Albotross and the actual rotary engines on the Fokkers that spun in the cowlings to Voss' sky-blue tri-plane streaked in dark green (I assembled a model of it 40 years ago). I had hoped they would have detailed Voss' last fight when he took on I believe 7 SE-5s at once, putting bullets into each plane.
Interesting to note Kurt Wolff and his fellow Jasta 11 pilot didn't even start scoring until von Richtofen took command of the squadron. Really says something about Richtofen's extraordinary leadership abilities. Voss of course was just a natural born flier, the greatest pilot of the war.
. great pictures - first-class pilots and men could start with concepts, how fame and honour still what and which had the necessary respect one in front of the other - also before your enemies...
@mckessa Shame Edward Mannock did not get a chance he had 61 confirmed kills with 73 reputed kills.he would give away his kills to other pilots sometimes.
@TheLloydA1 What I have read about Mannock he was a cool guy, gave alot of his kills to the rookies. Over here they are starting to give William Barker his recognician as Canada's most decorated war hero.
Werner Voss has always been my favorite, kind of weird, as of this comment today (sep23) is the anniversery of when Voss was killed in his 1 v 7 battle in 1917

@mckessa just read this - On 30 April, Bishop survived an encounter with Jasta 11 and Manfred von Richthofen, the Red Baron.
