i do alot of texting and i do alot of downloading ringtones and listening to full mp3's and i like using the web to watch youtube videos and check my myspace. what should i get? CURVE OR INSTINCT?

Both phones are great for music, and web browsing, and texting, but only you can deside which style you like best, i have the Instinct and its a great phone.

ok cool but i cant get ahold of one gotta wait 3 weeks... i need a phone right now... also just talked to apple and NO sending pics from phone to phone WEAK! NO video as of right now thats some hacker sh*t. NO iphone cannot transfer contact number from sprint to iphone. BYFAR VERY WEAK FOR SUCH AN EXPENSIVE PHONE two thumbs down on i phone

The integration with iTunes is flawless, and it is VERY easy to change songs, videos, or anything else!

The Instinct lacks in all of this (except for the GPS) and I've heard that as for MobileTV, either no one uses it or its bad quality.

The iPhone screen is bigger than Instinct's and MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE USER INTERFACE IS FLAWLESS.

That is very true. SUPER smooth, no delay whatsoever, and VERY easy to understand.

Both are great phones, but I think that the iPhone has much more capability

3G is a very fast network for cell phones and the difference between that and EVDO (what Instinct uses) is not much, and most of the time iPhone/iPod touch users find WIFI anyways to use instead.

The iPhone can work with businesses now, it has push email, and Microsoft Exchange. The new iPhone has live GPS (turn by turn guidance might come out in an update later on). The keyboard does take some getting used to, but its really easy.

Also, the iPhone can add 3rd party applications through the AppStore. I have a jailbroken iPhone at the moment and I have programs that let me use MMS and take video. I bet that sooner or later a developer will release something for those to work. A very good application that is coming out for it or maybe already on the AppStore is called iCall. This lets you take calls over WIFI (VOIP). What happens is (you need at least one bar) that you receive a call and before you answer you can switch it

I wonder where he got that statistic...Think about it, how could a cell phone signal antenna be better than wifi? 3G is not as fast, but it is close, and yet no excuse to exclude wifi "on purpose"

They obviously either ran out of budget to fit it in or some other complication.

Reason wifi isn't included is because it isn't needed. The speed of their browser is about as fast as wifi and you can access it anywhere, thus wifi is unneeded. They also spent 100 million just on marketing for the instinct, to think they ran out of money isn't very bright.

In 2 days its going to be obsolete. The Sprint network is a little faster than 3G, but missing things like WIFI, availability of 3rd party apps (easily accessible, not like hacking it or whatever), and using it for everything (music, videos, and phone) is still the number one. It's not always about what it has, but sometimes its about it's interface. The Instinct's biggest things that are "better" than the iPhone is the GPS, and MobileTV. In 2 days, the iPhone 3G will have GPS. Continue comment

tell me why i should get iphone instead of instinct... im a sprint customer already, thinking of getting one of the two .... will i get all my contacts transfered to i phone probly not, does iphone send pics to other phones, i know for sure it dont. does iphone do video, i know it dont... iphone is pretty cool though,... OH and also instinct is $129. iphone is $199... i think instinct is my best bet..... please let me know!!!!!!

Hello 4x4lou,

You have some good points there. A couple things you can't forget though, first off, iPhone has WIFI. Now, as I'm typing this, I see that BrainstormGeek asked why would the Instinct need WIFI because it has such awsome signal and whatever.

But with WIFI there are no charges with your carrier, its either faster or just as fast, and you don't need cell phone signal to use it.

The iPhone lets you carry all your videos, music, podcasts, etc... on one device. READ NEXT COMMENT BY ME

But WiFi is very limited, and the EVDO network is where ever you get sprint coverage, and instinct also can carry all of your favorite videos, music, and pictures, and there is no charges for the data usage as it is already included in the Instinct capable Plans which are WAYYYYYYYYYY cheaper then ATT, personally the Iphone is a good PHone, BUT ATT just sucks, if iphone was on sprint i would get it.

sprint is fast. my pearl loads up mobile pages pretty darn good. not comcast good, but you don't feel like you are waiting (and waiting) as with EDGE.

i recently heard this phone will be taking 3rd party apps as well. if true, it's going to be a real winner. especially great for anyone on sprint that lends more importance to the web experience than a blackberry can offer.

Viewing the video twice it's a really nice phone, good features and it looks very nice but that web browser on the video better have been viewed on mobile mode and not desktop view because it just doesn't look too good. Besides that, the phone kicks ass. Websites on the phone can be viewed on mobile view and desktop view but on the video the guy says desktop browser. Besides that, the phone is awesome.

Very nice demo, pages load pretty fast I just wish it had a better web browser. If you notice on the video the way the yahoo website looked compared to viewing yahoo on the iphone, it's just way different. By the way Microsoft is working on a new mobile Internet Explorer that has flash support and it's due at the end of the year. Either way sprint instinct is a very nice phone, with cool features.
