  • @prestonporras Thanks! No, I've never tried using apples. I just make it from a kit. I prefer making it with honey.

  • Do You Still Add The 6 Cups Of Sugar Aswell As The Honey ?

  • @chesterfieldhooligan No. The honey replaces the sugar.

  • Nice collection of nips on top of your cabinets. How many mornings at work did it take you to amass that classy collection?

  • @IndiaBlackAle66 It took several years to collect them all. I would buy one or two at a time and at times more.

  • mieses2pieces you the man...onces I saw your first vid I knew I could home brew.thanks buddy for making it fun.

  • Dude you beer vids are the best. I watch them over and over. Set us up with more brewing vids and you chuggin down a few homebrews!

  • when do you add the hops?

  • It's all in the can.

  • It's all in the can.

  • Hey buddy, it sounds like you went to sleep during that 6 hours.

  • LOL I may have.

  • Hey, great vid, do you know if it's possible to add the honey (instead of corn sugar) during bottling for carbonation...

Have you heard about or experimented with this process?

  • Yes it is and I have. I don't know how much to use though. The way I did it is I put 1tsp in each bottle. You can try 1 1/4 cups and put that amount in your bottling bucket. That's how much dextrose I use. Good luck.

  • HEYYY from a Canadian friend!! ur the best

  • Thank you very much!!

  • Damn, how did I miss this video? Ok, i'll shut up and watch.

  • I don't know. LOL!

  • What's the cost?

  • Around $35.

  • Cool. Thanks for posting this!

  • When u use honey do u need to use sugar or na?

  • Nope

  • You should try using corn SYRUP (not sugar) instead of honey. Itseven cheaper than honey and works fantastic. You seem to have it figured out in your own way though but i thought i might let you know about the syrup if you want to even save more money. Love your vids man.

  • Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try. I'm also going to try a batch with maple syrup. Thank you!!

  • What do you use to prime your bottles when you brew with honey? Dextrose?

  • I primed a six pack with 1tsp of honey pet bottle and the rest of the batch I used 1 1/4 cups of dextrose. Both worked great.

  • Good to see your vids again, George. I've just started brewing again recently and am trying some new recipes and techniques too. Cheers, Mate!

    Chris-Atlanta

  • Thanks Chris!! Very cool that you are trying different things with making your home brew. That's how you find what you like best. CHEERS!!

  • I tried this recipe and it is by far the best beer I have tasted, thanks for the how to on such a great beer!

  • Very cool!! I'm glad you like it. It's some of the best I've made. THANKS!!

  • I have actually tried this same kind of beer before, i used 1.5 lb's of honey, in a brew kit, it was actually one of my first beers i made. the fermintation started very very quickly something like 4 hours after pitching the yeast it became pretty violent but did not pop its lock, 6 days fermentation, 2 weeks in bottles it came out pretty good, but tasted somewhat like apple cider, I now use honey sometimes in dark lager's or ale's not so good in light tho, good luck tho tell me how it comes out

  • It came out great and doesn't taste anything like apple cider. I like it so much that I have another batch brewing roght now.

  • Hey George ... I told you lately about a beer mixture with rum ... that was wrong, lol, don't try it! They used Tequila ... guess with rum it won't be as good, haha.

  • Hi Sven! I've never had it either way. It doesn't sound very good to me. I would try it with Tequila if I were drunk first. lol

  • We even import some tequila-beer mixes from Mexico, I think it is called Corona.

  • As far as I know there isn't any tequila in Corona beer. Corona is pretty good beer. It's very unique and I can't think of another beer that tastes like it.

  • Hi! I decided to try myself and make beer, i used the same technique as you (no cooking, only boiling water in the bucket) with Coopers Real Ale, and a kilogram of dry malt extract (2.2 pounds). You think it will taste OK? I heard now that coopers aint that great (DUH, its from australia...) but, will it taste anything like beer? I'm just a bit worried hehe. Have you tried this with honey yet? Thanks!

  • I've made Coopers before and it turned out pretty good. I like Muntons better. Everybody has different tastes on what they like so you may love it. I know it will taste like beer. Since you used only 2.2 pounds of dme it will have a little less alcohol that what I make but I'm sure it will be fine. If you can get Muntons give it a try. I haven't tried any of my honey batch yet but I will make a video of me drinking it for the very first time. I plan on doing that tomorrow.

  • Just a quick Update: I bottled this batch today 10/27. I ended up with 60 bottles. I used honey as a primer in 6 bottles and dextrose in the rest. It will be at least 3 weeks before I try any.

  • just checkin in to see how this one is working.. I'm guessin its still bubblin? I'm putting on a Muntons tonight (Monday) with just sugar.. I might try the honey if it tastes ok LOL!!

  • I'm getting ready to bottle it in about an hour. Them I'm making another batch wirh dry malt extract today. It will be about three weeks before I try any of the honey.

  • how long does it take before you can try it out?

  • 3-4 weeks after it's bottled.

  • You will get better honey flavor and aroma by using raw honey from a local beekeeper.

  • I will have to see if there are any local beekeepers around here. If so I will give it a try. Thanks!!

  • What's coming out of that air lock sure smells good!

  • Good stuff!!

  • MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!! one of these days I'll quit talking about brewing my own beer and actually DO it. LOL!!!!!!

  • You won't regret it. I don't buy beer anymore since I started making my own. Plus, it's much cheaper making it than buying it from the store.

  • I look forward to you trying the beer out so i know if it is any good and might give it a go myself, Good Luck George

  • I'll do a video and let you know. Thanks Stevie!

  • I used corn sugar this time, just want to see what the taste difference is. I might try a honey one next if your comes out good. I drank a few of my last batch today. It was guuuuurrrrrrddddd!!!

  • It's good with corn sugar too. Did your beer get better with time?

  • I think it did get better, I only have about 24 left from my first batch. Been tearing them a new one. I am bottling some up today, going to make a little video of it.

  • Awesome George. Make sure you let me know how that turns out. I'll try it if it does. I haven't got skype installed yet since I re formatted. I'll get on that.

  • Thanks Craig. I will do a video when I try it. It's been a while since I've been on Skype. Maybe we will talk soon.

  • oh man i can taste it already!! (hey just for curiosity.. what % alcohol does your beer have? any idea?) i will look forward to seeing how it turns out!!

  • When it's ready all you have to do is drive up here and you can taste it for real! I haven't used my hydrometer to find out. But the lady at my brew shop said it should be around 6%. All I know is it's much stronger than the Coors Light I use to drink.

I also look forward to it!

  • I love your homebrew videos... So informative :3 Keep it up ^^

  • Thanks, I will.

  • If you're making it, George, I know it will be good. :)

Actually, the last few seconds of your video is good to watch if you're feeling stressed.

  • Thanks Betty, I hope so. I have made a bad batch before.

LOL Now you know where to go to get rid of your stress. Maybe I should do a ten minute video of the airlock bubbling. lol

  • I bet its going to be guuuuuurrrrrddd! I have my second batch going. It will be ready to bottle on Wednesday. I am looking forward to you taste testing results. Later

    Andrew

  • I sure hope so Andrew. Time will tell. Did you use dry malt extract or dextrose on your second batch?

I look forward to tasting this batch. I will film my very first drink. I hope I don't throw up. LOL

  • cool! have to tell us how it tastes! :-)

  • Thanks! I'll do it!

  • Can't wait to see how it turns out. Please put out a new video with the taste test. KEEP BREWING!

  • I'll do it!

  • It was bee honey.

  • cool stuff..i use muntons myself...makes some nice beer...try the Irish ale...its a nice drop...and james squires too...happy brewing...

  • Thanks Stretch! I may give them a try sometime.

  • I thought maybe you got your wife interested in your hobby for a minute there George. Honey would rather you were mowing the lawn and washing the cars, if she's like my honey.

  • I wish George! She doesn't even like beer. MORE FOR ME!! lol My "Honey" would rather I do those things too.

  • aha ya making meadbeer like the viking drank - beer whit honey - i love it - HIL ODIN

  • Hi Kim! I didn't know what it's called. "Meadbeer" Now I can drink like a viking!! lol How big of a mug do I need to drink it like a viking? When I drink it I will have Thor's hammer necklace on!!

  • Thanks Kosher!

  • I have to say, you must, YOU MUST, make a video on the day you try it! :)

Well done mate, and thanks for the chat last night on AussieTubers, hope I didnt offend at all, cause i did end up a bit, well, a lot, tipsy :)

    Keep the vids coming :)

  • Thanks Geoff! I plan on making a video when I try it for the very first time. I sure hope it's good.

I enjoyed the chat and no you didn't offend at all. I couldn't tell you were buzzed. We had a great chat and I look forward to our next chat.

    I'll keep em coming.

  • the honey sure came out nice after you heated it. I'll bet that'll be good. If it is I'll try it.

Hard Rock Niagra Falls :) Tami and I had ribs there once.. it was really good.

Speaking of Tami, she had our boy at 3pm on Wed the 15th. Check your messages :)

  • I figured it would come out of the bottle better if I heated it up first. I'll let you know if it's good with a video of me drinking it for the very first time.

My wife, daughter and I had lunch there too. I don't remember what we had but I do remember the prices were kinda high.

CONGRATULATIONS PETER!!! I'll check it out.

  • Right on Hard Rock Cafe! I hope this turns out for you George, atleast it looks like it's fermenting quite nicely. Can't wait to see the final product. Remember to try using honey as a reactivation in a bottle or two to get the extra honey taste.

  • Thanks Jason! I hope it turns out too. It is fermenting real well, it still is today. When it's ready to drink I will do a video of me trying it for the very first time. If I remember to buy more honey before it's ready to bottle I will use honey to reactivate it on a six pack. The rest I will use dextrose.
