Another Great video. You really should go on tour!!He was a smart little horse, but not as smart as you in the end.Love your gentle but no nonsense approach, keep em coming.
I admire your work with the horses. Thanks for having the courage to put up with the "nay-sayers". Your seem to be a terrific Horseman. Your Rouge Buster video looks like Okinawa.
Have been enjoying your vids, endo, keep them coming! I always say whisper first, sure, and if the horse hears you, then that's fantastic, but if not, maybe you need to raise your voice...
Nice to see someone who knows how to take the upper hand without being abusive.
I would rather endo work with the crazy horse then it be put to the slaughter mill cause no one can get it to listen?? Oh but wait half the idiots on here look at a the world through rose colored glasses take them off folks an see that this IS the best choice!
This horse isn't rearing because it's scared, or because it doesn't understand. It's rearing because it thinks that he is the leader, and dominant. Endo is just trying to get the horse to understand that he is dominant as well, and he can't get away with rearing. I agree that, if the horse were rearing because he was scared, then this would be a horrifying experience for him. Good work Endo. I don't think I'd have the guts to get right in there while the horse is rearing and carrying on.
well i am an horse trainer and i no wat is going on wrong they haven't got a hard enough bit on him and they need to just get on him and give him a good gallop bring him back and work him every day and when they go to get on him they need some 1 2 hold on to him
ok, so your a trainer, obviuosly, thts why u would put a harsher bit in, and give him a 1-2 hold. this isnt a western pleasure horse. an for some reason, the ones i've ridden with a harsh bit, means they werent trained prop in the first place, maybe frm likes of u. now i know why i train my own!
The bit has nothing to do with it... the horse obviously thinks he has the dominant role on this dance floor... putting a harsher bit in his mouth won't convince him otherwise, just ruin his mouth.
Thank you for showing us your work Endo, it is very interesting. I understand that horses with extreme disrespect issues, aligned with economic pressures, can merit extreme measures at times. Are there any types of horses that you would not put on the ground, or would you still do it, but differently?
There are lots I don't put down, I look at the horse and let the little voice in my head decide. He hasn't let me down yet..I jumped on someones unbroken horse the other day and stood up on it's back because like the "Road to the Horse" because the little voice this horse was ok and it was..I have to vid too..
Endo...the horse world needs more people like you to help the horses "trainers" screw up. I wonder how many you've saved from ending up on the meat wagon or tossed out to pasture and forgotten. Thank you!
Sorry but you're being silly. He's forcing the horse to submit...it's true. It might not look lovey-dovey, but I see no evidence it's hurting the horse.
ok i had to say something after reading a bunch of ignorant comments. when a dog gts out of line, we submit them-flip on back til they settle--is that cruel? no-thought transfer. OMG this looks so familiar now!! some of u horse people(interperse) jus dont get it, Paul is their rehab!! tryto reall rmember-these r not your average backyard horse!!!
Off topic, but these days, the new research on dogs is showing that flipping them on their back is not a way to get submission out of a dog. It was due to a misinterpretation of observing wild wolves. There's quite a lot of new thought in dog training these days.
Does anyone else notice that he is the only one to ever pet this horse? The other handler straightens everything but not once reassures the horse that they are friends. Yes the trainer is in charge and the horse has to know it but he also needs to know that they can still be friends/partners.
That was great. I just started working with a tricky 4 year old. He is under saddle but isn't liking it. I will work with him daily. The ground work is done now the fun starts. He was very head shy but I have turned that around. Now to get the buck out of him. It's so much fun. Please share some tricks with me.
"you should get a thing that goes around their ears and hooks onto the girth so every time they try to rear they cant do it!!that horse needs to be disciplined!" That only stops them, not retrains their thought process and as to why they do it in the first place.Training is for the mind.
PLEASE contact your federal senators to pass the horse protection bill S-311 Congress will reconvene Tuesday September 4,2007 And this needs to be passed to stop the inhumane slaughter and transport of horses for human consumption, a big business now, meat goes to Europe
I'm impressed... I've had horses for 23yrs. I'm 27 now... I've seen many methods and sometimes you got to do what ya got to do.. If you don't show them whose the boss before they get to big to deal with you NEED to sometimes take these steps.. It's that or someone WILL get hurt... there was nothing cruel here, he wasn't tied he simply gave into pressure..
Gitofathistle your a huge jerk! You probebly have issues in life but you dont get sent to slaughter even though you deserve to! If people have problems they go to rehab and work threw it just like horses have trainers to work them through there issues! Horses unlike people are able to work through almost all issues and dont attempt to hurt you! If anyone deserves slaughter its you.
i think, you should look at "silly natural horesmanship" here on youtube! it's not my video, but after reading some of your comments concerning NH, i think, it's the right one! ;)
i have one question about your methods (i hope, i don't come off as your favorited 'fluffy horsie rosies'!)
did you try other methods before dominating the horses? i know with dogs, sometimes the "fluffy doggie"-part just doesn't work!
hiya, nope I don't really have time to get into the horse's and evaluate whats screwed up. If u watched the rearer your'll see Idon't use domination all the time either. I just deal with the issue and hope I use the right gameplan..It's how it plays out on the day..
you should get a thing that goes around their ears and hooks onto the girth so every time they try to rear they cant do it!!that horse needs to be disciplined!
Mechanical methods only stop them from what people "trained" them to do and does not effect the thought patterns that caused them to do it in the first place.Child molesters don't molest in jail, but stopping them from being able to doesn't get to the thought process that caused them to do it in the first place.
plus when a horse is like this then its very dangerous
there can serious anything bad happen. Its not the intent of the horse to hurt someone but it will happen anytime so you need to find a way to change it as fast as possible. If this would hurt the horse or not be the right way then it wouldn't change its behaviour and react more against it.
pure.. joining up with your horse is the ground work aye but a dominant horse like this one won't join up with anyone that easy. That can have many reasons either hes just very very stubborn or had in the past bad experience with peoples who couldn't leade him.
A horse can just see in you a partner when its sure it can follow you safely = trust. But some horses can't get trust for some reasons so it needs a "special training or way" to get it
I'm not twelve and I've been training horses quite some time. though i think joining up is a bit of a fluffy term, I have some real concerns about your methods here too pink. I've worked with plenty of horses that had issues, maybe not 20 yrs worth. but i've never had to throw them down to fix them...
well sorry hun but closed-mindedness flows two ways... seems like your awfully closed to methods other than yours. seems like you enjoy throwing them down, and if it is truly a last-resort, then why do you seem to glorify it?
OK, well then here is another question- This is a personal option only btw- I wonder why you refer to your horses as "rogues" and "biotches" and then refer to "busting" them and "kicking their asses" when, if you are a true professional (trainer) that would be not only incorrect, but unprofessional. From one trainer to another? O, and I train using my methods. I have no "guru", though I would consider it mostly "natural"
Rogue was the closest word I could think of that rhymes with the GHOST busters music I wanted to use, I haven't met a rogue yet. Biatch is funny...lol and can u show me where I have ever used the words "busting" and "kicking their asses" because I think ur assuming thats how I think when u are far from it..read my body language, you won't find an ounce of aggression here.
Though I must have been mistaken about the kicking of asses, you have busters on the title of several videos. And on the contrary I find your posture rather aggressive in several instances. and the mere fact that you are overpowering them forcefully (horsemanship rogue busters frame 1:55 not the angle of bit) suggests aggression. I wont say that it doesn't work. But i think excessive domination breaks otherwise (potentially) good horses...
Hun, I'm sorry if the vid upset you ok. I was called to sort this horse out because he wasn't being a good boy and I'm sorry if I couldn't pull off the perfect olympic score to win the gold for Kazakhstan but hey life will go on, it's not the end of the world.
endo i have watched a few of your vids now and i am very impressed. I work with horses who come to me as "out of control nutters" and it's a horse with a people problem not people with a horse problem. I would rather your methods over "natural horsemanship" anyday. gryphonkeen wake up and smell the coffee, life is not all sunshine and roses.
Thank you, I am not hard on these horses. These horse look at trainers with the same eye as the people that abused or screwed them up. I don`t feel trainers should start off on that foot. I lay them down so I can get up close and personal and show the horse I`m different and want to work with them not against them. Is that such a crime ?
been watching your videos tonight as you have probable guessed, would i be right in thinking that it doesnt matter which way you lateraly flex the horse, either towards or away when putting them down
How coul us aussies be jealous of a small man in pink pants, lol, the sad thing alll these horses hate him (hence the bucks, rears etc) he is only kiddinhg himself,
Wow you can do a little tap and pull a horse to the ground (with its head struggling in a bit), but at the end of the day, what did that achieve anyway? People have ridden for centuries and were able to achieve that. Perhaps you should rewrite your site and call it "Me and my big head" beacuse thats all you seem to care about. You might impress the Japs, but hey I guess that why your over there and not here, lol,
Wasn't out to impress, I was out to fix a problem that had gotten outta hand. You are obviously another one with a chip on your shoulder because the horse world left you behind and my buddie "Pat" wouldn't impress you so who cares..
Often the new age guru's have folks believing that no serious dicipline is required EVER... You on the other hand show people that thought process is a blinders way of thinking...
They should remember to the old phrase "Spare the Rod and Spoil the Child" For what are our horses, but extentions of our family, and as children to most of us horse lovers.
The method you used I think is a good method for a horse that has just learned that is can get away with alot of stuff. I tend to like to use different methods such as Clinton Anderson uses though. But it annoys me how people say that this is cruel. It' just another way to work with a horse.
Good conversation on here-and true! I have a yearling that is smart and will probably be around 16.2-17HH when she's done and she needs to be brought down to size every now and then, and after she is brought down she is a sweet heart! We do have the Parelli program, but she needs more than just that. She wasn't cheap, so I'm not going to hurt her, either-not more than the other horses do when she messes with them.
Endospink...i only wish i had you in my backyard! I love your methods. I know you could fix my saddlebred mare who likes to do little hops and little bucks every couple steps. I know shes having temper tantrums about riding again after a few years off. Watching you is a real inspiration to me with my training! Thank you for the videos. Keep up the good work!
Thank you..If I could up and leave here I would come over there to start up a small place where people could come and drop their horse off and come back a week later and pick it up job done instead of paying a trainer for months only to have their horse come back worse than it left..
That is so much the case these days! Seems everyone who ever rode a horse is an expert trainer! Natural horsemanship has its place with some but some need stronger methods. NH is not a cure all nor is a roundpen.
The word "Trainer" get thrown around far too loosely these days. The only mistake the old school made was treating every horse the same, which was too hard for the mentally fragile horses, but now todays N/H is making the same mistake treating every horse too soft which doesn't work on rogues or horses that need to be pulled down a peg or two..I'm a "Hybrid" I will use the best of both worlds to get the job done without hiccups.
I don't even class myself as a "trainer", I'm a rider with common sense, but looking around around I don't think any of the N/H trainers can compete with my arsenal because I ain't affraid to use it when needed..
Well, your methods are very effective. I have been doing lots of groundwork with my saddlebred mare and so far its made no difference in getting her respect. She just wont give up her temper tantrums of swishing her tail, pinning her ears, trying to rear and doing light bucking. She is the type where stronger methods are needed. She does have an attitude and no respect.
such a place is already next to MY place(yeahh :D)....so you don't necessarily(...how the *** do ya spell thát :s) need to come to Holland ;) keep posting though!
aww, I'm sorry hun. I will go and buy some nice juicy ripe carrots to make up for it ok, but only after you reach a mature enough age to understand your fluffy horsie world mentality is making things hard for real trainers around the world trying to fix your spoilt and roundpen sour horses
You see, a "real" trainer wouldn't demoralise or humiliate a horse. Monty Roberts and Kelly marks are what I call "real trainers", as are the RAs they have trained. My horses aren't spoilt or sour- they have guidelines, rules and respect and are happy for it. What I do with them is fair and not demoralising. My horses choose to walk with me because that is where they feel comfortable- not because their legs have been made too weak to do otherwise. :-)
Monty ? Isn't he the guy that joined up with that wild horse they had stabled for a month before they let it go? The same guy that brings horses to their knees with a war bridle? The same guy that taught people to join-up but doesn't know what to do after that? Oh please..your just as pathetic as the fluffies...I show you reality stuff because I know horsepeople out there can tell the perfect stuff in DVD's isn't how really went down and more people are waking up..
uhm...monty roberts isn't allways that...eh.. soft 'n nice as you discribe it ;) did ya see more/all of his stuff? he can be hard when its necessary too...( i like n/h, but my horse doesn't understand all the softy/fluffy way of ASKING to walk etc. And i don't say i'm totally agreeing with endo....but the world is getting a bit too....unrealistic i think....( sorry for the bad english...i'm practising...:-))
OMG! i cant get over how many people on here think treating a horse like this is cruel! and that the horse will not trust people after this! this horse will have more trust and respect for people then he has in his life after endospunk has finished with him!
Am I missing the point of this video? You weaken the leg muscles of a chronic rearer so he won't try rearing again on video. I'd assume this one day did not break this horse completely and was probably a waste of time in general..?
If you were a trainer you see a very handy tool, but obviously you have someone do the hard work for you. I wish I had the money to pay people to do everything for me. Enjoy you rosie horselife.
ok i think this is very cool but i have a few questions if you do not mind... is this bad ffor a horses back and/or legs? can it possibly injure or ruin a horse? i have a 'trick' pony if you will who will lie and bow but i have to pick her foot up with a rope and back her up to do it. would this be a good method to wean her off of having to have her foot picked up?
What your seeing here is just the fast version for instant results. You can slow it down and you won't need ropes. You pony will pick this up fast and just lie down when you turn his head after a bit of practice which should also be done on a soft sand surface. Done right this is perfectly safe. I'm bringing out a DVD soon if you can sit tight for a bit ok.
Do you only do this with problem horses or with chilled out ones too? I watched your TAP demo with you doing it with (what appeared to be) a chilled out horse. Theres a very relaxed horse at our stables who would just flop down if you ask him, so do you think I should try it with him?
You should give it a practice on quite ones so you can work it out because problem horses are very smart and know every trick in the book (thats why they're problems) and they will work it out before you do if you don't know what your doing. Timing is essential and you wanna get on top over the situation ASAP.
This is not Horsemanship this is horse wrestling. You have damaged this horse mentally, emotionally and physically. I can't believe someone can find this amazing anyone stupid and strong enough can force a horse to do that. I am sure the vet bills for that horses legs will be much more than what any of Parelli's programs cost. Get some Savvy! Horses don't deserve to be abused and have their dignity striped away.
I doubt my 64kg and 170cm could bring a horse with 4 feet on the ground down with stregnth hunny. Get yo mamma to try. The slaughter house doesn't care for mentally, emotionally and physically damaged horses hun. Did your carrot eyes not see the resistance when I tried to get some lat-flex on the near-side? This horse had respect issues end of story.
You know I agree. It is clear that this horse had respect issues, but the way theyr were handled, was not exactly done in the horses best intrest. Really is just horse wrestling in this case. The horses needed clear communication not fear and intimidation.
Hunny you haven't got the experience to be commenting if you think I can push a 500kg horse with 4 legs on the ground, with stregnth. You know nothing about this horse's history or mine yet you cry poor horsie..Go visit any horse event and look behind the scenes..
Honey, I'm sorry but....Parelli is not the only guy that can deal with trouble horses. Us normal people that can't afford to spend thousands on Parelli stuff deal with these problem horses the best way we know and that's with our own head. Maybe you should look at other options like "Endoelli"...
So... Parelli method is the ONLY way to deal with a troubled horse? I see some ridiculous comments here on YouTube, but this one is keeper. Wow. Unless maybe you are being sarcastic? (I hope.) Otherwise, I would be semi interested to hear your "reasons".
To those who think this is hard to watch... I am also extremely sensitive when it comes to what constitutes abuse, and I don't see it here. Rearing is an EXTREMELY dangerous habit which even most trainers do not know how to solve and refuse to deal with. I would rather the horse get "the tap" than see the horse go to the slaughterhouse, imho. Horses like these don't have a chance unless they get fixed, and the issue is being corrected here without injury or abuse.
Thanks, do u know not one of the people that bash my vids have ever asked for background info or why I did this or that. The people that looked after this horse was told by the trainer to deal to the horse because he wasn't gonna train him like he is. The manager at that farm(which has roughly 100 horses)asked me to come and have a look at him a month before this was filmed because they had tried everything else.
I never use aggression but I will use enough force to get the job done if that be the case. Most horses won't listen to you if there is a slight chance of being able to evade, so I just get straight to the point and shut down all the evasion options. Working with me is the quickest way home.
Wow, it looks like you do great work! I just have one question...how do you make sure you don't damage the horse's legs? I just know that Thoroughbreds in particular can tend to have more fragile legs, and I can't help but cringe when I see them bent down like that. Your methods seem to work, I just am wondering what kind of precautions you use. I don't know, maybe I am just more paranoid to this because I have been through heck with my horse who has a torn ligament.
Absolutley Fantastic work! Knowing why a horse is doing what it's doing, having the skill, patience and love to remedy it as you are doing is what makes a 'wonderful' Horseman! Well done!
Wow! Good job, it's about time i see somebody with knowledge and experience here on you tube! This is nothing for ANYBODY to attempt without both of those. It is a great technique and you executed it extremly well!
my family has also done some stuff with TBs Formerly abused ones.
I just want to say that I couldn't even watch the whole video, from my expearance, most horses figure stuff out after they trust you and a person that just comes in and tries to do stuff by force will make it harder for the horse in the long run, causeing stress and other issues.
Thanks for explaining why you were doing what you were doing. I'm just thinking maybe you should write "don't try this at home", because it would suck for a green rider who has this problem try and fix it the same way, and stuff it up :)
Wow you have guts! Some people need to stop talking novice horse rider rubbish about "retrain" "you do this" "check teeth" - boring. Heard it before. It is all VERY well known stuff and it is true - horse have minds of their own. I know tons of well trained horses that get into bad habbits but not from how they are trained. One mate's horse was naughty from too much grain and my brother's horse just has a strong personality. I think this video is good.
Halfway in-between this treatment & being a pushover is called horsemanship. The problem is missed steps in training. You need to start at the beginning, not trying to do a trick like this. You need to establish respect from ground basics, during feeding time, grooming, & moving off your body so you can control the horse's movement appropriately. Pain issues like past & present saddle fit & chiropractic & dental issues need to be addressed as the most common cause of this behavior.
This is why I left forums, "check this, check that" there isn't a post on any forum that hasn't got this echo..This horse was outta line. Rearing is evasion and when horses use this to get out of simple daily routines like walking, it's time to take charge.
Plus, don't be givin me no ground basic crap because every horse no matter how good the training will try and test you oneday. It could be stopping at water or refusing to go into a stall and how you react to this test will dicide who the biatch is there after.
You already know my responce! But hey if you EVER decide you want to take a vacation there is a nice room here in Usa SC greenivlle that would LOVE to have you for a while. I would love to work with my blind TB on laying down like that I think he could really benefit from it. And of course you know Awesome work!
Japan, wow that must be very different from Sydney ( just checked your profile), carrots go in stew huh? I am sure those horses would have as well if you hadn't helped them along their way....... cheers john
This guy is total awesomeness. I show everyone his videos and they love this guy! I wish to hell he was closer to me! I could use a lesson on horse training!
You can come and help give my horse a little manners lesson! He's a rearer, but does it for NO reason other than trying to put it over me at BIG shows
LMAO since when will a horse calm down from being yanked in the mouth, and the horse wasnt panicking, any one that can read a bit of body language could figure that out. why dont you try to learn about thoroughbreds before you tell some one else that seems to be doing very well and has a good bit of sucess with the harder to train horses, what to do and what is good or bad.
i would trust this trainer, because he gets the horses to trust humans, instead of fearing us. he tells the horse that its okay to relax, and be our friend.
i thought you handled everything very nicely...and it amazes me at some of the stuff people have posted on this video! i thought you did a great job :D you seem like a talented horseman.
I sure have...their called quiet ones. You wouldn't believe how many riders become the horse's bitch here at bandcamp. I don't mind though, extra pocket money plus I get more experience and I get to say my favorite line to the horses.."What's my name BITCH"
I would have to say the tantrum filly, she the best I've seen so far..she is one of the elite thinker class and there isn't too many around like her ..
When a horse is being purely disobedient, what do you expect? Sit there and take it? That horse needed to be put back in it's place, and he did a great job - he wasn't cruel at all, and didn't hurt the horse.
Brutal?!!??! you Novice. please do not be so blind to see what this person is truly doing. Brutal wouldn't be the "tap method" this person uses. Brutal would be stuff you see within the slaughter houses. tell me something what is your method of taming the rareing horse? I wish I could be as talented as this person with horse training. TBs at that! hell I wish I could be taught by this person.
Hes not only saving the horse from hurting itself, but others that are around this horse.
hi. Do you not think this is just a quick fix, tiring the horses out so they can be submissive, rather than find the reson behind the problem. I agree with not letting the horse win any battle otherwise they will know for future, but there isn't going to be someone who can do that all the time when the behaviour comes back.
Paul, you rock! Some delicate types out there don't accept that HORSES HAVE MINDS OF THEIR OWN. It isn't always as easy as "Love the horsey and the little horsey will be your willing 'pardner'." That's for dogs, man! And horses AREN'T dogs! Plus, you're training those hot blooded racing TBs. There's a reason this old gal chose to work with Western Pleasure breds, LOL! (They tend to be more doglike in temperament.)
Another Great video. You really should go on tour!!He was a smart little horse, but not as smart as you in the end.Love your gentle but no nonsense approach, keep em coming.

It's that or someone WILL get hurt... there was nothing cruel here, he wasn't tied he simply gave into pressure..
shawnalarose 4 years ago
Gitofathistle your a huge jerk! You probebly have issues in life but you dont get sent to slaughter even though you deserve to! If people have problems they go to rehab and work threw it just like horses have trainers to work them through there issues! Horses unlike people are able to work through almost all issues and dont attempt to hurt you! If anyone deserves slaughter its you.

hi endopink!
i think, you should look at "silly natural horesmanship" here on youtube! it's not my video, but after reading some of your comments concerning NH, i think, it's the right one! ;)
i have one question about your methods (i hope, i don't come off as your favorited 'fluffy horsie rosies'!)
did you try other methods before dominating the horses? i know with dogs, sometimes the "fluffy doggie"-part just doesn't work!
cu schicze
schicze 4 years ago
hiya, nope I don't really have time to get into the horse's and evaluate whats screwed up. If u watched the rearer your'll see Idon't use domination all the time either. I just deal with the issue and hope I use the right gameplan..It's how it plays out on the day..
endospink 4 years ago

Barrelandpolechick5 4 years ago
Mechanical methods only stop them from what people "trained" them to do and does not effect the thought patterns that caused them to do it in the first place.Child molesters don't molest in jail, but stopping them from being able to doesn't get to the thought process that caused them to do it in the first place.
beccalecca11971 4 years ago
plus when a horse is like this then its very dangerous
there can serious anything bad happen. Its not the intent of the horse to hurt someone but it will happen anytime so you need to find a way to change it as fast as possible. If this would hurt the horse or not be the right way then it wouldn't change its behaviour and react more against it.
Gollyfu123 4 years ago
pure.. joining up with your horse is the ground work aye but a dominant horse like this one won't join up with anyone that easy. That can have many reasons either hes just very very stubborn or had in the past bad experience with peoples who couldn't leade him.
A horse can just see in you a partner when its sure it can follow you safely = trust. But some horses can't get trust for some reasons so it needs a "special training or way" to get it
Gollyfu123 4 years ago
To... purefreedom1995...It dosen't hurt the horse and its no forcing to anything.
Its a good way to show the horse it can accept you as "leader" otherwise it won't trust you
Or have you never heard about the ranking in a horse herd ?.
Endospink keep this good work up its realy awsome
and by far a better way to train a horse as the plenty other methods i've seen
Gollyfu123 4 years ago
I think joining up with a horse is far more acceptable.
purefreedom1995 4 years ago
Hunni, your profile say your 12 years old. Can you explain to me what joining up is and how long it takes please ?
endospink 4 years ago
I'm not twelve and I've been training horses quite some time. though i think joining up is a bit of a fluffy term, I have some real concerns about your methods here too pink. I've worked with plenty of horses that had issues, maybe not 20 yrs worth. but i've never had to throw them down to fix them...
gryphonkeen 4 years ago
Well I hope this stuffs still here when you do have to lay one down because I will only take so much close mindedness and this will all be gone..
endospink 4 years ago
well sorry hun but closed-mindedness flows two ways... seems like your awfully closed to methods other than yours. seems like you enjoy throwing them down, and if it is truly a last-resort, then why do you seem to glorify it?
gryphonkeen 4 years ago
nope..count my movies then divide that into the number of horses I work with every year..I'm only showing you stuff you guru can't.
endospink 4 years ago
OK, well then here is another question- This is a personal option only btw- I wonder why you refer to your horses as "rogues" and "biotches" and then refer to "busting" them and "kicking their asses" when, if you are a true professional (trainer) that would be not only incorrect, but unprofessional. From one trainer to another? O, and I train using my methods. I have no "guru", though I would consider it mostly "natural"
gryphonkeen 4 years ago
Rogue was the closest word I could think of that rhymes with the GHOST busters music I wanted to use, I haven't met a rogue yet. Biatch is funny...lol and can u show me where I have ever used the words "busting" and "kicking their asses" because I think ur assuming thats how I think when u are far from it..read my body language, you won't find an ounce of aggression here.
endospink 4 years ago
Though I must have been mistaken about the kicking of asses, you have busters on the title of several videos. And on the contrary I find your posture rather aggressive in several instances. and the mere fact that you are overpowering them forcefully (horsemanship rogue busters frame 1:55 not the angle of bit) suggests aggression. I wont say that it doesn't work. But i think excessive domination breaks otherwise (potentially) good horses...
gryphonkeen 4 years ago
Hun, I'm sorry if the vid upset you ok. I was called to sort this horse out because he wasn't being a good boy and I'm sorry if I couldn't pull off the perfect olympic score to win the gold for Kazakhstan but hey life will go on, it's not the end of the world.
endospink 4 years ago
endo i have watched a few of your vids now and i am very impressed. I work with horses who come to me as "out of control nutters" and it's a horse with a people problem not people with a horse problem. I would rather your methods over "natural horsemanship" anyday. gryphonkeen wake up and smell the coffee, life is not all sunshine and roses.
aletheapark 4 years ago
Thank you, I am not hard on these horses. These horse look at trainers with the same eye as the people that abused or screwed them up. I don`t feel trainers should start off on that foot. I lay them down so I can get up close and personal and show the horse I`m different and want to work with them not against them. Is that such a crime ?
endospink 4 years ago
@purefreedom1995
Thats not forcing a horse to anything and its not brutal or harsh because it DOSEN'T hurt the horse.
Thats just a way to keep the control... befor you can ride a Horse it needs to accept you as "leader"
otherwise it will let you dance to it's pipe.
Have you ever watched a ranking fight in a Horse herd ? Befor a horse can trust you fully it needs to accept you.
Its not wrong to do it this way especially not when a horse is difficult .

I agree with Renegade. It's all in how the dicipline is applied. You can't get mad, which Endo clearly doesn't. Then it makes sense to the horse.
squeezlepop 4 years ago
Wow you can do a little tap and pull a horse to the ground (with its head struggling in a bit), but at the end of the day, what did that achieve anyway? People have ridden for centuries and were able to achieve that. Perhaps you should rewrite your site and call it "Me and my big head" beacuse thats all you seem to care about. You might impress the Japs, but hey I guess that why your over there and not here, lol,
horsesmouth351 4 years ago
Wasn't out to impress, I was out to fix a problem that had gotten outta hand. You are obviously another one with a chip on your shoulder because the horse world left you behind and my buddie "Pat" wouldn't impress you so who cares..

LMAO, that's awesome and probably true, Endo. Gotta love the ignorant, (and probably jealous) jerks like horsesmouth.
You're fun to watch and keep up the good work, come hang out in the states some time!
Mistybleu18 4 years ago
Often the new age guru's have folks believing that no serious dicipline is required EVER... You on the other hand show people that thought process is a blinders way of thinking...
They should remember to the old phrase "Spare the Rod and Spoil the Child" For what are our horses, but extentions of our family, and as children to most of us horse lovers.
RenegadeSpiritCat 4 years ago
The method you used I think is a good method for a horse that has just learned that is can get away with alot of stuff. I tend to like to use different methods such as Clinton Anderson uses though. But it annoys me how people say that this is cruel. It' just another way to work with a horse.
horsegurl039518 4 years ago
Good conversation on here-and true! I have a yearling that is smart and will probably be around 16.2-17HH when she's done and she needs to be brought down to size every now and then, and after she is brought down she is a sweet heart! We do have the Parelli program, but she needs more than just that. She wasn't cheap, so I'm not going to hurt her, either-not more than the other horses do when she messes with them.
cathysunshine 4 years ago
Endospink...i only wish i had you in my backyard! I love your methods. I know you could fix my saddlebred mare who likes to do little hops and little bucks every couple steps. I know shes having temper tantrums about riding again after a few years off. Watching you is a real inspiration to me with my training! Thank you for the videos. Keep up the good work!
horsenaround 4 years ago
Thank you..If I could up and leave here I would come over there to start up a small place where people could come and drop their horse off and come back a week later and pick it up job done instead of paying a trainer for months only to have their horse come back worse than it left..
endospink 4 years ago
That is so much the case these days! Seems everyone who ever rode a horse is an expert trainer! Natural horsemanship has its place with some but some need stronger methods. NH is not a cure all nor is a roundpen.
horsenaround 4 years ago
The word "Trainer" get thrown around far too loosely these days. The only mistake the old school made was treating every horse the same, which was too hard for the mentally fragile horses, but now todays N/H is making the same mistake treating every horse too soft which doesn't work on rogues or horses that need to be pulled down a peg or two..I'm a "Hybrid" I will use the best of both worlds to get the job done without hiccups.
endospink 4 years ago
I don't even class myself as a "trainer", I'm a rider with common sense, but looking around around I don't think any of the N/H trainers can compete with my arsenal because I ain't affraid to use it when needed..
endospink 4 years ago
Well, your methods are very effective. I have been doing lots of groundwork with my saddlebred mare and so far its made no difference in getting her respect. She just wont give up her temper tantrums of swishing her tail, pinning her ears, trying to rear and doing light bucking. She is the type where stronger methods are needed. She does have an attitude and no respect.

aww, I'm sorry hun. I will go and buy some nice juicy ripe carrots to make up for it ok, but only after you reach a mature enough age to understand your fluffy horsie world mentality is making things hard for real trainers around the world trying to fix your spoilt and roundpen sour horses
endospink 4 years ago
You see, a "real" trainer wouldn't demoralise or humiliate a horse. Monty Roberts and Kelly marks are what I call "real trainers", as are the RAs they have trained. My horses aren't spoilt or sour- they have guidelines, rules and respect and are happy for it. What I do with them is fair and not demoralising. My horses choose to walk with me because that is where they feel comfortable- not because their legs have been made too weak to do otherwise. :-)
MirandaSophie 4 years ago
Monty ? Isn't he the guy that joined up with that wild horse they had stabled for a month before they let it go? The same guy that brings horses to their knees with a war bridle? The same guy that taught people to join-up but doesn't know what to do after that? Oh please..your just as pathetic as the fluffies...I show you reality stuff because I know horsepeople out there can tell the perfect stuff in DVD's isn't how really went down and more people are waking up..
endospink 4 years ago
uhm...monty roberts isn't allways that...eh.. soft 'n nice as you discribe it ;) did ya see more/all of his stuff? he can be hard when its necessary too...( i like n/h, but my horse doesn't understand all the softy/fluffy way of ASKING to walk etc. And i don't say i'm totally agreeing with endo....but the world is getting a bit too....unrealistic i think....( sorry for the bad english...i'm practising...:-))

Am I missing the point of this video? You weaken the leg muscles of a chronic rearer so he won't try rearing again on video. I'd assume this one day did not break this horse completely and was probably a waste of time in general..?

GiftOfAThistle 4 years ago
ok i think this is very cool but i have a few questions if you do not mind... is this bad ffor a horses back and/or legs? can it possibly injure or ruin a horse? i have a 'trick' pony if you will who will lie and bow but i have to pick her foot up with a rope and back her up to do it. would this be a good method to wean her off of having to have her foot picked up?
MercuryJokerCasino 4 years ago
What your seeing here is just the fast version for instant results. You can slow it down and you won't need ropes. You pony will pick this up fast and just lie down when you turn his head after a bit of practice which should also be done on a soft sand surface. Done right this is perfectly safe. I'm bringing out a DVD soon if you can sit tight for a bit ok.
endospink 4 years ago
Do you only do this with problem horses or with chilled out ones too? I watched your TAP demo with you doing it with (what appeared to be) a chilled out horse. Theres a very relaxed horse at our stables who would just flop down if you ask him, so do you think I should try it with him?
Thanks :-)
krismisb 4 years ago
You should give it a practice on quite ones so you can work it out because problem horses are very smart and know every trick in the book (thats why they're problems) and they will work it out before you do if you don't know what your doing. Timing is essential and you wanna get on top over the situation ASAP.
endospink 4 years ago
Thanx
krismisb 4 years ago
This is not Horsemanship this is horse wrestling. You have damaged this horse mentally, emotionally and physically. I can't believe someone can find this amazing anyone stupid and strong enough can force a horse to do that. I am sure the vet bills for that horses legs will be much more than what any of Parelli's programs cost. Get some Savvy! Horses don't deserve to be abused and have their dignity striped away.
NikkerT 4 years ago
I doubt my 64kg and 170cm could bring a horse with 4 feet on the ground down with stregnth hunny. Get yo mamma to try. The slaughter house doesn't care for mentally, emotionally and physically damaged horses hun. Did your carrot eyes not see the resistance when I tried to get some lat-flex on the near-side? This horse had respect issues end of story.

Endo, keep it up mate. Your Horsemanship is quite inspirational, but your comments back to the "know it alls" is icing on the cake!
Tylwood 4 years ago
You know I agree. It is clear that this horse had respect issues, but the way theyr were handled, was not exactly done in the horses best intrest. Really is just horse wrestling in this case. The horses needed clear communication not fear and intimidation.
VenusLN 4 years ago
Hunny you haven't got the experience to be commenting if you think I can push a 500kg horse with 4 legs on the ground, with stregnth. You know nothing about this horse's history or mine yet you cry poor horsie..Go visit any horse event and look behind the scenes..
endospink 4 years ago
Do you use Parelli with your methods??? No offenc but I don't like anyone dealing with a troubled horse unless they use Parelli ( I have my resons)
RusticChaser 4 years ago
Honey, I'm sorry but....Parelli is not the only guy that can deal with trouble horses. Us normal people that can't afford to spend thousands on Parelli stuff deal with these problem horses the best way we know and that's with our own head. Maybe you should look at other options like "Endoelli"...
endospink 4 years ago
So... Parelli method is the ONLY way to deal with a troubled horse? I see some ridiculous comments here on YouTube, but this one is keeper. Wow. Unless maybe you are being sarcastic? (I hope.) Otherwise, I would be semi interested to hear your "reasons".
nelsonreed 4 years ago
Yep, I thought that comment was up there with the best of them too and I get a lot of Parelli comments.
The "mark as spam" button works well..lol
endospink 4 years ago
To those who think this is hard to watch... I am also extremely sensitive when it comes to what constitutes abuse, and I don't see it here. Rearing is an EXTREMELY dangerous habit which even most trainers do not know how to solve and refuse to deal with. I would rather the horse get "the tap" than see the horse go to the slaughterhouse, imho. Horses like these don't have a chance unless they get fixed, and the issue is being corrected here without injury or abuse.
nelsonreed 4 years ago
Thanks, do u know not one of the people that bash my vids have ever asked for background info or why I did this or that. The people that looked after this horse was told by the trainer to deal to the horse because he wasn't gonna train him like he is. The manager at that farm(which has roughly 100 horses)asked me to come and have a look at him a month before this was filmed because they had tried everything else.
endospink 4 years ago
I never use aggression but I will use enough force to get the job done if that be the case. Most horses won't listen to you if there is a slight chance of being able to evade, so I just get straight to the point and shut down all the evasion options. Working with me is the quickest way home.
endospink 4 years ago

Wow, it looks like you do great work! I just have one question...how do you make sure you don't damage the horse's legs? I just know that Thoroughbreds in particular can tend to have more fragile legs, and I can't help but cringe when I see them bent down like that. Your methods seem to work, I just am wondering what kind of precautions you use. I don't know, maybe I am just more paranoid to this because I have been through heck with my horse who has a torn ligament.

my family has also done some stuff with TBs Formerly abused ones.
I just want to say that I couldn't even watch the whole video, from my expearance, most horses figure stuff out after they trust you and a person that just comes in and tries to do stuff by force will make it harder for the horse in the long run, causeing stress and other issues.

endospink 4 years ago
Wow you have guts! Some people need to stop talking novice horse rider rubbish about "retrain" "you do this" "check teeth" - boring. Heard it before. It is all VERY well known stuff and it is true - horse have minds of their own. I know tons of well trained horses that get into bad habbits but not from how they are trained. One mate's horse was naughty from too much grain and my brother's horse just has a strong personality. I think this video is good.
selina313 4 years ago
Halfway in-between this treatment & being a pushover is called horsemanship. The problem is missed steps in training. You need to start at the beginning, not trying to do a trick like this. You need to establish respect from ground basics, during feeding time, grooming, & moving off your body so you can control the horse's movement appropriately. Pain issues like past & present saddle fit & chiropractic & dental issues need to be addressed as the most common cause of this behavior.
autumnkate 4 years ago
This is why I left forums, "check this, check that" there isn't a post on any forum that hasn't got this echo..This horse was outta line. Rearing is evasion and when horses use this to get out of simple daily routines like walking, it's time to take charge.
endospink 4 years ago
Plus, don't be givin me no ground basic crap because every horse no matter how good the training will try and test you oneday. It could be stopping at water or refusing to go into a stall and how you react to this test will dicide who the biatch is there after.

Brutal?!!??! you Novice. please do not be so blind to see what this person is truly doing. Brutal wouldn't be the "tap method" this person uses. hi. Do you not think this is just a quick fix, tiring the horses out so they can be submissive, rather than find the reson behind the problem.

Thank you for putting this up Paul. NO people can really see what the tap does and not freak out at it anymore
