@DReichard1 I think I may not have been very clear in the video, I was talking about the aftermarket windscreen on my KLR, which I got at KLR650.com (I think), but there are a number of windscreens available for the '08-xx KLRs now. The windscreen on my C14 is the stock windscreen, which is somewhat larger than the 08-09 stock windscreens.
@chrst12348 I'm 5'11" an I wear an 18" sleeve . . . if I'm buying a fancy shirt. Normally, I'm ok with an XL in most shirts. The stock bars were not too bad, but a couple of years ago I hit a deer on my KLR (I was on the KLR, not the deer) and my right wrist has given me problems with numbness ever since. The bar risers helped relieve some of that pressure.
Great video. I had a C-14 when they first came out in July 2008. I sold it a year later, but now may look into a new one. I also have a 2009 KLR 650 and love it. Takes me places others only dream about. Your videos are great and looking forward to more.
@navythomas8 Thanks! I hope folks find it useful. My biggest question prior to putting the risers on was, "do the clutch and brake reservoirs hit the windscreen?" I couldn't find that info anywhere (I suppose I should've asked at one of the C14 Forums) and I thought other people may have the same question, so I put the video together and almost forgot to even mention the clutch/brake reservoir clearance. D'oh. Anyway, I put about 200 miles on the Connie yesterday, the risers are AWESOME!
Funny you mentioned the KLR hitting at full lock. I was having problems with newly installed maier handguards hitting on my KLR. Put on a set of Tusk risers and viola! ... fixed. No bumping and god the handlebar position is perfect now.
@yurkia360 Same story here; I replaced the handlebars with a set of Pro-Taper bars and Moose Racing handguards (which are a pain in the ass to fit around the clutch lever . . . ) and no matter what I tried, the mirrors and brake reservoir would hit the wind screen. After thinking about it, I may go back to the stock windscreen on the KLR, I had originally put it on to limit some of the buffeting at highway speeds on my commute to work, but that commuting duty has been taken over by the Connie.
@KLRPilot Maier Woods Pro Deluxe handguards are a PERFECT FIT on my 2009. the only thing I adjust was that I moved the front brake lever assembly to the outside of the killswitch. Little farther to reach the starter button, but no a problem unless you have tiny hands, LOL. Still running the stock screen on mine, thinking about a laminar lip sometime this summer.
@yurkia360 Good info. My brother runs a laminar lip on his '08 KLR and has no complaints. I've ridden his bike a couple hundred miles and I do believe the lip works better than my extended windscreen at diverting wind up and over the rider; I'm 5'11", taller rider experience may differ. I wear an Arai XD3 on the KLR and the extended windscreen puts the airflow right at the base of the helmet visor, so I have to ride with my head tipped down a little, not so on my my brothers bike.
@KLRPilot OoO ok well I am only 5'7" with a Fulmer ADV helmet (Arai out of my budget LOL) and was wondering if the lip would get it up and over. I'm thinking laminar lip hard now, HEHE. good deal, THX!
Why don't you mount your GPS to your left handlebar. I have a zumo 668 and have it mounted to my left handlebar. works great.

What type of after-market windscreen did you purchase?

@KLRPilot
How tall are you? What's your sleeve length? I'm 6"3" and trying to decide if 2" risers will be enough.
