hey i have a 2000 reg cab z71 and i just blew my rear end and was thinking of put a tru trac in mine as well i was wondering what u think of yours and is it better then the stock rear ?
@ferny460 I don't own this truck anymore but I personally think it is better than stock. It had better traction obviously but it gave it a more "positive" feel also. It does not require fluid with a friction modifier in it but I used one with it and it was slightly smoother.
Hey I had this setup for a bit while I was changing out my exhaust lol but I never tested what it sounded like at cruise at about 70mph. Was there a lot of drone?
@1dylan2277 I sold this truck in January but I do remember that there was some drone around 70mph but wasnt enough to annoy the crap out of me or my passengers.. If i went like 72mph it was perfect with almost none. If you have any more questions I'll be glad to try and help.
@acdclover66 I have the stock manifolds with a catalytic converter after both manifolds then it merges together into one pipe ( Y-Pipe ) and is dumped straight from there in the vid, I have put on a turndown pipe since..... I have a CAI intake installed btw....Sorry if its a bunch of jibberish I'm trying my best to describe it lol......Soon as I get a new camera I'll snap a few updated vids of the truck
how much of a difference performance wise would you say doin that did cause i got a 2002 gmc sierra with the 5.3l and im tired of that stock sound and performance
@BIGELK82 Not a whole lot of performance increase only slight but its mainly for the sound although it does help your engine breathe a little better...use headers to take full advantage of exhaust performance altough it is good to have a little backpressure because it supposedly mildly affects torque on the low end, i have failed to notice much difference though....thanks for the comment
Didn't cost me a dime! 15 mins with a sawsall took care of it. Personally I like it with the cats on this truck because it keeps the sound just right and it dosent pop and cackle like a mofo.
Thanks! Yep its got the rev happy 5.3l.....No problems at all with the engine its very dependable, especially considering how hard I push it. You'll love it if you change the exhaust, these motors sound great when opened up. Good Luck!
Yeh,I always laughed when these muffler companys claim there mufflers out flow a strait pipe, wtfe, use your common sense and realize it just is not possible,I always go glasspack or strait pipe on my vehicles, period, peace.
I like it, the camera distorts the sound a little but not bad. Keeping the cats kept the cackle down and made it loud enough to satisfy, but not enough to drive you insane!
Sounds cool. Is is true duals?

@mesteelers1991 No it combines into a single dump after the cats
