@marcang1 <<< Im 100% postive its about Hank Jr The song sayes Hes over 40 years old now ..... Hank Sr born 1923 died 1953 but was only 29 years old so its definatly talking about Jr in the song
Alan Jackson sings with song with so much empathy. He's one of the good 'ole boys. I loved it when he did the live hymns for his mother and his mother-in-law.
Thank you for posting this video and the photos and really great!,
This is such an AWESOME song! I think it will be one of my future wedding songs; the one the Bride and Groom get to dance to while everyone watches!
...take the person you love by the hand and dance quietly to this song; if tears don't start rolling down from your passionate eyes, and you don't squeeze real tight to the one you love and feel totally happy and comfortable in that moment... look for another, one you can do this with! Best of luck in LOVE! ♥
I have herd this song quite a few times and just love it. Thanks so much for sharing. Great song. Hank you are a great man and Allen thanks for all you have done with your songs.
I played this version of this song as a closing dance song at a sober dance I DJ'd many years ago, and it filled the floor in front of me. It was awesome. What made it more bittersweet was the fact that my mom and dad were right at the forefront of the people dancing to it. In all honesty, I was apprehensive about playing it, but when the song was over, I was getting handshakes, and thank yous from the couples that danced to this song. Thanks Hank and Alan for recording this great song. George 2
@Midnightryder3 Indeed he does. My brother has the original Alan Jackson album this song came out on. Now, before I heard this version, I'd never even heard Hank's version. Alan mentions Hank's name in the song's liner notes, and I saw "Living Proof", which featured Hank's version of this song, a little while after hearing Alan's version. George Jones also did a pretty good version too!
very good job AJ!!!!! u took this song and done it justice. and to Hank Jr. your name says it all. Alan i thank u for being country and to Hank Jr. for being an outlaw and making country music for all of us simple folks could enjoy and for truly being one of us. COUNTRY BOYS CAN SURVIVE!!!! again thank u Alan Jackson for doing this classic and i have to say u have filled Hank Jr's shoes quite well. thank you Midnightryder3 for posting this...U ROCK SON!!!!!!!!!!
@lno71 ... THAK YOU for the comment. Its Comments like this that make me want to keep making the best videos i possible can. I love the older country music and try to share what i have and try putting pictures together with the song. TAKE A LOOK AT my ALAN JACKSON " Murder on Music Row" and listen to the words in that song !! AGAIN THANKS A BUNCH for the comments
To all: I love seeing all the posts and tributes but I wanna let ya'll know something. The song, originally done by Jr was about his daddy Mr Hank Williams SR!!! How wonderful country would still be if we never lost the greatest!!!
If I included Toby Keith in the same class as Keith Whitley, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Tracy Lawrence, then I'm really sorry!!! :-( I'm gonna sit in the corner now...LOL :-)
I didn't mean to type Toby's name. Just a really bad typo. There are a couple of Toby's I like, but once or twice listening to Toby Keith in enough for me!!!
dnt like the song too much

Of a blues man that's already gone."

Great song. I would assume the song was about George Jones, but it could be about a number of older country singers. LOL

No I meant to type Tracy Lawrence, not Toby Keith!!!
I do sorta like some of Toby's music, but he's definately doesn't have that classic country sound. Sorry!
