  • ha...sounds like canada..want see a canadian worker?..go visit yer local welfare (dole) office..

  • the last bastion of the working man is the right to withdraw his labour. There are hardly any working MEN left in this country. So what rights do we have really.Thatcher and her ilk who are still present today will never allow us to have a decent life or a life for our children unless we kowtow to their ways. Some of us will not and eventually we shall overcome the differences between us.

  • both these blokes are trying say they believe in protecting British jobs but don't believe in limiting immigration. You can't have it both ways!!!

  • @MrMoel1 immigration has little to do with the private industries bringing in foreign workers because they will work for less and the weakening of the trade unions in britain who now lack the rightful means to do something about it.

  • Give 50 billion to pensioners ? thats a lot of beige cardigans and blue rinses.

  • @hablerz ... Also alot of hot dinners and paid heating bills for people who have worked all their lives and lived through far more austere times than we have today...

  • @oclandestin Im in my 30s, by the time i reach retirement there will be no govenment pension under the current 'sell everything to foreigners and import cheap labour policy' .

But yea i think pensioners should be kept warm and fed and not die in some damp flat somewhere because they cant afford to heat the place.

  • How does George and Arthur know that the French unions would not stand for it?

    Or do they just 'know'?

  • @alanheath3 ... It's an educated guess, based on the present and past activity and influence of the French unions and their members...

  • @oclandestin I think that is probable too in the case of France and Italy (although not Germany) but nowhere do I recall George and Arthur using the words 'I think'.

  • @alanheath3 look at there history

  • @TheLaxityandJam ... What a useless comment.

  • @b0rg51r ... So people working hard to feed themselves and their families have "bizarre and pointless lives"? Do you live in the real world? You have a "bizarre" attitude to humanity.

  • Arthur is spot on But British work for British workers is a dangerous slogan--Arthur picked up the racial question--the BNP will use it hell the west indies and africa are owed no less (and of course be unionized)

  • British jobs for british workers!

  • You mean Liberals? Bring back Gladstone and you may get up to 25% of the vote.Arsehole

  • @gilesosborne2

Labour rights are a necessity in the workplace. Without these, even the most basic rights, employers are free to demoralise and intimidate its workers.

That is precisely what has been happening in this country since the late 1970s, or 1979 to be precise.

Great answers by Scargill here and I only wish the outcome from the Miner's Strike had been different. It would have been had MI5 not infiltrated the NUM.

Tories, Liberals and Labour have no time for the unions.

  • You and your leftie loser friends may be full of ideas. However you will never get the chance to implement them. You will never win a free and fair election as normal people wont agree with your ridiculous policies. You know Im right.

  • "normal people"? lol. Maybe in your small world most people are part of the dying breed of deluded Thatcherites, but elsewhere they're a minority.

  • @southsieed

    'Free and fair election'

The Tories fixed elections the moment they introduced the Poll Tax and ensured that non-payers were off the electoral register.

There are no free and fair elections in the UK and USA. If you believe so then I'm just sorry that you've been fooled for so long.

  • To implement the poll tax the Tories had to be in office having won a free and fair election. Why do you think that people who do not and will not contribute to society, deserve to vote anyway?

  • You vote for someone who seeks that advice and help from thinktanks and leading civil servants on your behalf.

When you vote you are merely saying that you don't trust yourself to make such decisions but would follow a dogmatic approach.

Or you are just a Tory tart?

  • And you would have me vote for Marxists would you? I dis agree with government policies and am shot as "an enemy of the people". The ridiculous system you seem to prefer has failed all over the world.

  • Same thing applies to the olympic construction site, 8000 workers, only 1,500 or so are local brits, the rest mainly from india and eastern europe, meanwhile top brass at the olympic commitee get huge bonuses, for cutting costs at the expense of british jobs, so much for british jobs for british workers, is that what going for gold means coe?.

  • Jesus you are typical of my overall view of the left. You and your sort have to have someone to blame. Its always somebody elses fault isnt it? When you grow up and stop whinging you will realise that the left are devoid of ideas.

  • I may not have your indepth knowledge of socialism commrade. However I did live through left wing governments as a child.

Shortages, strikes, labour disputes and rampant inflation. Along comes St Margaret and all is well again!!!

  • @southsieed ... Are we talking about the same Margaret here? I lived through the Thatcher period as a child and remember a callous vengeful individual (that's the polite version) running the country...

  • @oclandestin just out of interest could you explain to me how she was re elected three times? If she was really so hated (honest question, curious to know)

  • @liams18 ... It's a mystery to me too. I think it's safe to say that Thatcher was loved and loathed in equal measure... but usually loathed by the poor and loved by the rich and powerful.

  • Galloway and Scargill what a pair of fucking losers

  • Totally agree

  • long live gorge

  • The problem with England is less to do with immigrants and more to do with the huge amount of indigenous white people, who are too lazy or too stupid to do a hard days graft. That's why for years and years we've relied on immigrants to come in and do the "unwanted" jobs. And now we're in a recession, suddenly all these scroungers, chavs, yobs and scumbags want all the immigrants out? It's the yobs who need putting down, lazy morons, claiming your dole all these years.

  • Bottom line:

International division and competition between workers - serve only capital-owners!

International financial speculation today gives more profit than marketing and production!

  • I love george and Arthur maybe the greatest man living--but George and Arthur even though the CGT was noble in 84 remember the French CP's racism in Algeria--the ruling class will use race to destroy working class power--and had it not been for JVS the CPUSA would have been a racist party. watch the emmett till videos

  • Arthur and George are not racists--I do understand what you are saying--but free trade in human capital is nothing more than a legalized slave trade but we need you to keep raising the issue--you are saying something important.

  • some poeple how commenting here sure listen to what george and arthur are saiding ,it was and is never about bj4bj it about all workers rigths

  • According to the UN there are 1 million foreigners working in the UK but 2 million Brits working elswhere in the EU. But I suppose you dont want to know that.

  • That's not the issue here, and if you listened to George Galloway you'd know that. Interesting stats you've given, do you have a link to verify them? I'm not opposed to the migration of workers. This is about providing work for local workers in a time of recession. An entire workforce was shipped in especially for the job, undercutting a qualified local workforce who could have done the job.

  • 1 - unions destroy jobs with their militant attitude (eg coal, steel, cars, print) 2 - what about British workers in Italy and Portugal should they be fired ? 3 - If I am putting money into something I want to have workers I can trust so I bring my own not hire those I know nothing about. 4- do you buy British all the time so you can help your fellow Brit Worker ??

  • 1>Saying unions "destroy jobs" or have a "militant attitude" is a total generalisation. 2>Listen to the video; In Italy, Portugal etc, unions are stronger and would not tolerate entire foreign workforces being imported putting locals out of work. 3>The company doesn't 'know' or care about the workforce. It's about importing cheap labour for quick profits. 4> Wake up. Britain is no longer a major manufacturing force due to right-wing attacks on unions and industry and cheap labour abroad.

  • Btw, why do you want 'death to the unions' when they represent the rights and interests of ordinary working people?

  • I totaly agree with this british for britsih workers

  • Maybe than British people working in other countries should be fired and replaced with local workers.

  • you don't have 4 million brits working on your shores.
