But yea i think pensioners should be kept warm and fed and not die in some damp flat somewhere because they cant afford to heat the place.

Labour rights are a necessity in the workplace. Without these, even the most basic rights, employers are free to demoralise and intimidate its workers.

That is precisely what has been happening in this country since the late 1970s, or 1979 to be precise.

Great answers by Scargill here and I only wish the outcome from the Miner's Strike had been different. It would have been had MI5 not infiltrated the NUM.

Same thing applies to the olympic construction site, 8000 workers, only 1,500 or so are local brits, the rest mainly from india and eastern europe, meanwhile top brass at the olympic commitee get huge bonuses, for cutting costs at the expense of british jobs, so much for british jobs for british workers, is that what going for gold means coe?.

The problem with England is less to do with immigrants and more to do with the huge amount of indigenous white people, who are too lazy or too stupid to do a hard days graft. That's why for years and years we've relied on immigrants to come in and do the "unwanted" jobs. That's not the issue here, and if you listened to George Galloway you'd know that. Interesting stats you've given, do you have a link to verify them? I'm not opposed to the migration of workers. This is about providing work for local workers in a time of recession. An entire workforce was shipped in especially for the job, undercutting a qualified local workforce who could have done the job.

It's about importing cheap labour for quick profits. 4> Wake up. Britain is no longer a major manufacturing force due to right-wing attacks on unions and industry and cheap labour abroad.
