  • im faster than all these people

  • good for the both of them. they both were acting like stupid children with the silly "I'm better than you" bullshit at these trials. Since 96 Johnson just sorta became something else. And it wasn't good. And Greene, since 97, was a bit of an asshole. With his stupid pre-race lip smacking and stares, he almost became a caricature. I'm glad neither of them made it to the games this year in the 200.

  • hav u got the 19.89 run/?

  • I always hated Green!!!! I respect Johnson but Green was always to full of himself!! My faverite Sprinter was Bruny Surin a super nice guy that love to sprint

  • the best in the 400 vs the best in the 100. neither one of them finished in the olympic trials.

  • the best in the 400 vs the best in the 100. neither one of them finished.

  • it was a secret alliance

  • MJ realized during that turn that he was not going to have the upper hand on MG and that the final 100 meters would've been a full sprint, where MG might've prevailed. MJ didn't want to risk losing, so he bailed. MG bailed because he thought MJ had the upper hand since his turn was tight. Never liked that arrogant little bastard MG. No respect for MJ. Low class punk.

  • This was worse than Bolt's false start this year by FAR! Would have been great to watch them run. Damn still pisses me off seeing this today.

  • thats fuckin unbelievable

  • thats fuckin unbelievable

  • thats fuckin unbelievable

  • Everyone has a mental and physical breaking point. Johnson has broken down twice when the real pressure was on - against Bailey and here against Greene. Physical or mental? Who knows. Despite this, both men are some of the most phenomenal sprinters of all time and, crucially, never been implicated in drugs in the way most of the best American sprinters were in this period.

  • This was so ridiculous, but it happens in the sprints, these guys can't help it when they feel a twinge.

  • Both were ready to roll and DEFINITELY had the heat behind.

Come gametime: They both got OWNED. I love them both but how did y'all both go down?!?

  • greene is my idol

  • he says 'cramp' not crap, obviously!

  • This reminds me of Mike Tyson going against Michael Spinks. All of the hype and preparation for a showdown, and it ends up short. Instead of one guy getting knocked out in 91 seconds, both guys get knocked out in less than 10 seconds. We rarely have two people going at it when they are at their peaks without somebody getting injured, or withdrawing because of injury.

  • 3:55 did the commentator say "looks like crap from here"

  • @sesshomarudrc It certainly sounded like it. What kind of commentating is that?

  • @MrPunk412 commentating?

  • Johnson is known for is acting when he cant win,,,, poor soul,, disappointing though

  • @sesshomarudrc Not at the olympic trials, too much at stake, it wouldn't have mattered as long as he was top 3. Trust me, he wanted to defend his 200 title. This was freaky though and sucked.

  • @TheAngeltoDemon i believe Johnson's super ego wouldn't have allowed him to loose this new young "non runner" who he could see in his periphery being on the inside lane, and just couldn't catch up on him on the curve. isn't that the same thing he did against bailey....... Green's fake was less believable...... in my opinion.

  • @sesshomarudrc Yeah, but he ran a 19.89 opening round heat, you just have to get top 3, and he's lost 200m runs before. it's the 400 he was untouchable. Yeah, this was the same as bailey, but both had implications. If you give him the benefit of the doubt, he can't keep going if he felt a twinge, cause these guys being that explosive can tear the hell out of their hamstring. Eitherway, it's a damn shame.

  • I was so dissapointed watching this race, sorry not this one, the one where Greene and Johnson both pulled up lame. What the hell are the odds of that!!!

  • When you're in the public spotlight in any capacity you must become a good actor. Whether you're a politician promising change or an athlete faking an injury in order to save face.

  • SALT

  • when johnson reealised he wasnt poised for his attack coming round the end of the turn he presses the ejector seat, he wouldnt have even been in that first 3/4 guys. he must have lost any of that sprinting speed he had to get out fast enough

  • I think michael would hace got him like the first race.i couldnt stand maurice and his tough guy attitude.

  • bull shit when these two ego maniacs cant keep up they just pull up..and cant complete because they cant stand losing..

  • @letsgowin LOL, Yep!!

  • @letsgowin

No way, that's not the case. It's the olympic trials first of all so they just needed top 3, the race that really would have mattered would have been in Sydney. MJ is all about legacy and wanted to defend his 200 title, and Greene definitely wanted the double. In the sprints, it happens, you can't fight through a twinge, cause you'll really blow out your hammy and then you ain't running in the olympics at all. Damn shame though, it would have been an awesome 200m.

  • who is john capel

  • @demathastags13 he played wr for the gators back in the late 90's he never got any pt exept for kick ret. this was the last time i seen him though

  • @BAMADUVALREPP oh cool i looked him up :)

  • i dont know about you guys, but everytime i can run faster the secand time

  • Pretty sure Mo faked, don't know about MJ.

  • micheal johnson cramp was REAL.. Maurice green cramp was not real!!! he was still running on a cramp leg.FAKE maurice was getting ate up and had to fake it

  • @InternetMacdaddy11 Yeah your right you can tell the obvious difference. when you're going that fast you can't just stop like that with a pulled hamstring. Mike Johnson almost fell over. Mo Greene just kinda slowed down.

  • the reason you know this isn't staged is because they both look like they got shot in their injured legs...... thats what a pulled hamstring looks like

  • @reigellatte17 I agree I just ran a meet last sat and pulled my hamstring It came out of nowhere and It was like a quick jolt like I got shot and it sucks lol

  • Staged

  • i dont think it was fake. i was a sprinter and sometimes it doesnt matter how much you stretch this can happen. it ha happened to me. if it was fake its to bad for track fans not to have seen these 2 guys finish

  • that was staged! How does both of these guys get injured during this final? Fake!

  • lol... There was no fake here.... Funny, Johnson was going to burn everyone! Stupid cramps, I pulled mines the other day and I can tell you that it's no fun. I'm no where close to these guys though.

  • hot race

  • hot race

  • LOL this is awesome! XD

  • there were no fakes here. they both got hurt. and that's good. The way these fools acted before this race was friggin embarrassing. The stares, the smart-ass comments, the continual need for one upmanship was pathetic. Johnson was typically above that type of bullshit, but somehow got pulled in. Greene was but one of the ego-giants of the HSI club with Drummond and Bolden. so I wasn't surprised by his lack of class. The lesson here? Let your feet do the talking and shut your lips!!!

  • Mo Greene definitely faked, don't know about MJ.

  • I rem. this like it was yesterday!

  • i can understand conspiracy theorists saying both faked their injuries simply because the odds of anyone else winning must have been so high that there would have been a ton of money in it. even so, i somehow doubt that was the case. honestly, it looked a bit like they weren't 100% even in the heats so my guess is they both just trained too hard because they wanted to beat the other. egos eh?

  • Wtf?

  • OMG!! funniest race ever hahah greene wuz just fakin it cause he saw johnson pull up.

  • i wouldn't be suprised if this races was fixed

  • This heat was too overloaded with awsomeness that thier human bodies couldnt handle it and it pulled greene and johnson's meg muscles. if the 2 had continued running, they would have opened a space time continum wormhole, which would have destroyed the entire solar system

  • @blacksoilder10 one of the best comments ever.

  • @blacksoilder10 great comment dawg

  • @blacksoilder10

Somehow , I just can't see 30 people understanding what you mean. But just to be part of it, I too gave you a thumbs up.

  • Comment removed

  • @damojenno , umm... i dont get it....u still have to get tested if injured

  • @damojenno They test when ur injured to you stupid ass

  • @damojenno Well how do you explain Johnson winning the 400? And didn't Greene win the 100? Work on your theory.

  • who pulls a muscle while sprinting? does it have something to do with being old? im a 16 year old sprinter and i dont understand

  • @zippo7224 dude your joking right? u might be a sprinter but i guess u dont try really hard cause sprinters get cramps and pull shit all the time

  • @MidnightH3ro i sprint for half the track at the start of a mile without slowing once so i dont know what my 100 or 200 metre time is but my mile time is usually around 3 minutes or under

  • @zippo7224 sub 3 minute mile? then you have the new world record!

  • @zippo7224 its because a real sprinters body is a delicate balance and they use so much force, im guessing you dont do all the weight lifting these guys do which is where all the problems start

  • @zippo7224 Y dont u put a gun in ur mouth and shoot urself and then get a life!

  • @Flyinglawnmower812 you go do that because your life is more worthless than mine

  • @zippo7224 wow go comeback!

  • Greene was a fool if he though he could beet Johnson. If u look at their times comming up to this event Jonhson average of about 19.7's, where as Greene at best 19.8's "high".

  • Ha, a footballer. There you go for those who crap on Football players speed. They might not stack up completely to the sprinters, but you can't say they aren't fast. A lot football players run track in college as well.

  • maurice is fitted i love his speed suit.........

  • they were bought off...didnt fool me for a second

  • Cracked under pressure.

  • it's the most common injury among sprinters. they aren't faking, johnson is a great straightaway runner and he got screwed over way before the straightaway. same with maurice.

  • John Capel!!! representin Hernando county

  • Green cyaa touch johnson gweh bwooy!!!!

  • human bodies werent meant to move that fast and when someone can break the speed barrier the muscles arent prepared or capable of maintaining those speeds for such a long period of time..... lol

  • fuck you, they are not faking and none of you are faster then them fucking idiots.

  • @yungthuggg hahahahahahaha I think they faked the cramp because they couldn't beat Capel.....Both of them at the same time lol bwahahahahahahahaha

Maurice Greene who pretended to have cramps continued walking. Anyone with serious cramps will not be walking at all. Bwahahahahahaha

  • one getting injured...ok

but both at once...seems kinda fishy :P

  • Johnson & Greene faked it, their ruputation was on the line, loosing to a kid to a kid thats emberassing

  • Half ass finish by Johnson and Greene

  • @CJThaSavage prelim?

  • Off course it wasnt real... Johnson was way to far behind to win and then choose to go out with no competition... The same for Greene...!

  • @phastman99 shut up batty boy,you dont know what youre talkin about little nathan LOL

  • I remember seeing this live. it was too funny. especially the way the guys were starring each other out.

  • nice cameltoe on floyd heard

  • These guys are legends, yet Usain Bolt makes them look like amateurs!

  • Maybe in the 100m

  • Comment removed

  • I'm a doctor and I invest in real estate. My life is very full. Do I have the time to discuss with you the technicality of 'legend'? No.

  • Comment removed

  • I did. Foil (fencing) and swimming. National championships level. Presently I run in the KF2.

  • @blackonics One more lawyer tiptoeing around a Doctor...

  • I understand where your comming from but I believe that even if greene celebrated, it shouldnt take away from what he did. @ Blackonics

  • Thats like saying lebron James makes Micheal Jordan look like an amateur. You are trippin, dont like your statement but if you feel that way, you just do.

  • Comment removed

  • @blackonics you know i 4got that MJ did that twice, i rem now. it's funny bcoz he's a great commentator on the bbc and is not afraid to criticise....but i 4got he had these marks in his locker. i never rated greene over 200m so don't really know how they had a rivalry

  • Greene faked his injury for sure. Not sure about Johnson, although his pullup was a little dramatic.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm not too sure about the fake allegations. Greene has had problems with injury in races before (he blew his quad in the 100m final at 2001 world champs and just held on to win) as has Johnson.

  • i personally dont think johnson faked the injury seemed fairly legit, did he do the 400m? im not familiar with the following events.

  • how is this fake its live footage

  • FAKE!!! They both faked injuries. Just think of the odds of the two of getting injured at the same time.Michael Johnson FAKED this just like he fake 150m against Donovan Bailey. I should also say i'm a big Michael Johnson fan but those two times he faked injuries.

  • WTF is that a BIG camel toe on floyd heard?? lmao

  • Fake!

  • great video. but you should really search for

    "Ato Boldon explains the 100m"

the best training video ever!! in my opinion

  • Did Johnson have a good or bad relationship with his contempraries back then and even now? He does a lot of work in UK for BBC...I was wondering if he prefers UK because of probs in USA!

  • Most Great Athletes have big Ego's

  • @Maorisidol true but Johnson was a humble cat for how great he was :)

  • @Maorisidol what do you expect? it's what they need to get themselves motivated... If you're an elite athlete ,you need a strong personality

  • probably because of all the £££s BBC pay for one off tournaments, like how they also get john mcenroe for the wimbledon fortnight

  • i love both athletes but that was the gayest fakest thing ever

  • this looks like its setup, the two stare ea other down, and then the two both "broke a leg"...

  • both faked, johnson because of terrible start, green because he realised he couldnt catch up.

  • all this talk about faking is total nonsense. they both went out so early in the race, there was no reason for faking yet.

  • These people I assume never had a charlie horse or pulled muscle while running track in their life. They have no idea how bad it hurts and how impossible it is to keep going. Just let them continue to act like the children they are. But even if its' the end of a race there no need to fake. If you're behind you're pushing yourself to the limit to catch up (naturally) and it's common to mess yourself up at that moment.

  • if any of you ran track, would know that sprinters pull hamstrings, and get cramps at any time.the faster you are the more you get them. he didnt fake this, neither did greene

  • Exactly, just look at football recievers that has speed. Of course it's always the people who never rain track in their life comment fake lol

  • @buschgardenstampa nonesense. but they didn't fake it.

  • Whoa. What is up w/all this name callin. I'm sorry which sides u guyz are on but Johnson' overall character is still the greatest.

  • he didn't fake at none of them!...are u guys crazy?...that's Michael Johnson u know...what u said?...u didn't hear me??...i said that's MICHAEL JOHNSON...he NEVER fakes.

  • lol yes like the time he pulled up againsgt bailey

  • your the dumbass, perhaps you should read my opening agrument, thank you.

  • yes he did, hes a pussy

  • I remember watching this and getting so pissed. How was it possible that the two best sprinters int he world get injured in th same race...

  • u kno shit happens

  • My theory is that MJ and MG were so pumped about this race that they might have had too much adrenaline which usually results in injury yourself

  • I remember seeing this on tv.

  • thats twice johnson faked an unjury while losing, what a coward

  • i agree with u ese

he faked it in this race and when he raced donovan bailey

    thats some cowardly shit

  • I remember sayin' the same thing! I was disappointed!

  • LMAO, a few days before MJ pulled a muscle in the prelims and ran faster than I have ever seen him run and he pulled up at around the turn and still ran a 19.71. He was hurt. But I can't expect you to understand because you didn't see it. He is famous and one of the greatest of all time and made about 100 million in his career. Nothing more needs to be said.

  • he is one of the best, but he pulled up twice in his career, which makes him a coward

  • Does it? I am an ex track runner and pulled plenty of muscles. As a matter of fact, I have boxed and played football too and never have been more injured doing either of the two sports like I have been in Track bc of the extreme relaxation that is required to run those high speeds. I saw the track meet of MJ a few days prior to that race and even said he shouldn't run the race bc he injured but he did. I wish someone had that prelim so you could see for yourself.

  • cowards usually stick together, nothing new

  • fuck you, hes not a coward! i bet you cant run as fast. lol. go suck bolt's dick. lollollollollol

  • 1-thats real mature 2-yes he is 3-no i cant 4-not gay and unfamiliar with this bolt you speak of

  • Bolt would destroy them!!

  • Hahahaha, massive ego'd black men at their absolute best.

  • Well...It appears you think I am lying. I DID shake Johnson's hand when he was on campus recruiting NFL prospects to train at his speed camp. A former USA champion in a jump event DID say that everyone on the circuit said that ALOT of the American stars were dirty. It's not just the Americans....so many people in the sport are dirty. Sorry if I bursted your bubble.

  • michael johnson is still the greatest

  • EPIC FAIL!

  • irony O_o lmaoo

  • no he aint

  • floyd in the blue track uniform has a major camel toe

  • A camel toe is when the pants get sucked into a vagina.. Not when it's sticking out you retard.

  • that may be so but there's something freaky going on with floyds crotch!

  • cameltoe

  • well im 4 years old and been training my 100s inside the womb and ran the hospital 100m in 3.99

  • hahahhaha

  • hahhahahahahhahahahahah!

  • am i the only one who think this is scripted?

  • mo walks funnu rightcha!!!he was the greatest actor in the track and field history...he stopped his race...is clear!!!

  • am i the only one that thinks that maurice greene walks funny

  • yes it is funy how maurice walked..he was talking too uch before the race and suddenly he realise that he was not going to make it even without the great Michael in the race. he (maurice) was obliged to fake, in his situation i guess i would also fake, it was a weird situation, John capel and the others were much beter than maurice

  • maurice green si the BEST !!!

  • i find maurice funy the way he faked, he knew that without Michael he was not going even to qualify and so he faked like he got injured
