  • fuck it, im gonna rip out my 5 speed c/r of my RS legacy and put in an auto ! aparently theyr better ??? LOL ;)

  • what does it being auto have to do with anything? its not like automatics make anything slower

  • @ColtonKuhn1 ???? taller gears, heavy flywheel... auto drivetrain loss is loss is quite bad

  • @rexxxy81 a couple pounds heavier flywheel is not gonna make a dif and taller gears are better for road use its not like ur gonna be doing 0-60 tests every day going to work. u prolly lose 2 to 5 hp at the wheels with an auto. nothing you will feel the only difference you will feel is like u said shorter gears but with that comes more shifting and worse gas milage

  • @ColtonKuhn1 ?? umm peak power is at a certain rev range and if it takes longer to get their the car is simply slower.. and especially with a twin sequentail turbo because two stages of lag its gotta pull through, beauty with the manual is you can skip the primary lag by a launch and because of the shorter gears you stay on the secondary right through the rest of the gears as aposed to falling back into the bog stage, the more the gears are spliced the more the car stays in peak power..FASTER!!!

  • @ColtonKuhn1 and no manuals are alot more efficient, especially on smaller engines, because load is what uses excessive fuel, auto's cause quite a bit of load due to flywheel, tall gears and clutch drag, thats why the top gear is quite tall to compensate..

  • @rexxxy81 u might be thinking of transmissions from the 50s because those things have not been true for awhile. but whatever YOUTUBE MECHANICS FOR LIFE!!!!

  • @ColtonKuhn1 what ever m8, you jump in your car take off, skip 2nd go straight to 3rd skip 4th go straight to 5th and see how quick it rocks up to top speed ! if a 4 speed auto is as efficient as a 5~6 speed manual.. why did manufactuers bother... why dont race car drivers just slap their car into "D" and away they go .. LOL

  • @rexxxy81 the majority of race car drivers use a highbred of a manual and automatic. they have a clutch but they only use it to get going then they just use there flappy paddles to shift all other professional racing besides nascar uses automatics...

  • @ColtonKuhn1 Ha a hybrid?? they are normally a hollinger 6 speed, a sequential clutchless straight cut manual gearbox.. sorry i dont know a single thing about nascar or the cars themselves, but id say theyd use a 3 speed powerglide system..

  • @rexxxy81 yeah a hybrid? haha i dont get the joke but ok. nope they use an old school 4 on the floor. and maybe for non professional racing. track racing uses straight cut gear boxes that are clutchless indeed but just because u can choose when to shift does not mean its a manual. if that were true my 2009 acura rl would be a manual and so would my 2008 bmw 335xi. so would me 68 coupe deville actually because i can change it from 1st to 2nd to drive. they are automatics unless there is a clutch.

  • Automatics are always generally slower than manual transmissions.

Paddle shift transmissions are a little different than conventional autos.

The fluid coupler (TQ converter) is responsible for a lot of the bhp loss.

Subaru gave the auto twin turbo 250bhp because the auto can't handle the power.

The manual twin turbo is rated at 280bhp but in reality, puts out something near 300.

Back in the old days, autos weren't as advanced as they are now & were less efficient.

  • Manual is where its at

  • you're engine is cold.

  • I raced a 1998 Caldina turbo with my 94 legacy auto! Absolutely caned him

  • @VideoReply Nice job!! with a few upgrades and a bit more boost they pull mega strong!

  • i love power mode in my subie haha
