I singing this for college I actually have a question how do you get into the tempo of a piece I seem to always have problems keeping a steady rhythm if you have any ideas please tell me thanks and also you sing this so well :)
@kittyanime7 This piece has some give and take in tempo. If your question is general in nature, I think just listening to the accompaniment is very helpful. Record your accompanist playing through the piece while you lightly sing along. This will ensure the nuances of the phrasing are included. Then listen (don't sing along) to the recording. Listening without singing is very powerful. If you can, play through the accompaniment. Thank you for your kind words. Best of luck!
I'm also working on this song for college auditions like TheNoracatherine. And I have to agree, you're my favorite out of all the versions I've seen. So much emotion! That's one of the things I need to work on the most so it's nice to watch and learn from you. Thank you.
@3spunky24 My very best to you in your college auditions! So glad this has helped you in some way. You chose a perfect audition piece - it has such a beautiful line. Just imagine how that young (and old) woman felt......I'm sure you will do a lovely job! Let me know how it goes.
WOW. Wonderful job! Loved your expressiveness! I'm working on this song now for college auditions, and you are by FAR my favorite version that I've seen!!!
@TheNoracatherine Thank you! This piece is one of my all time favorites. Such a beautiful line and begs for interpretation, which is one of the most important aspects of singing, in my opinion. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. My very best to you in your college auditions - such an exciting time!!
