There was one key hole we used to drill out or leave open permanently so it was easy to jump to high notes. Can't remember exactly how it was done. Do you know what I am talking about? meant that you could jump to the high E without having to hit the octave lever. It was 15 years ago.
how can i fix the tone of my bassoon i have tried everything including the positioning of my mouth and i just cant get it to sound so full and beautiful sounding.... please help
Hello! Here you see the first tests of the modified bassoon. This bassoon has additional opportunities. In this bassoon the high notes, and also some difficult transitions is facilitated. Look other my videos.
Well, it is indeed very high....but also very much out of tune. Instead of doing that this guy should be working on his intonation and sound.......one shouldn't forget that music is supposed to be beautiful........

theres a way to play a high high d (above the treble clef).
Hold down 1 and 2 (pointer and middle fingers) on your left hand, and the Eb key with your left hand. MUST HALF HOLE YOUR 1 (POINTER) FINGER!
have fun! whooo!

I have a good high register, but.. what the hell?! How..?

this might sound stupid but to get high notes on the basoon you have to cut the reed in half.
RayemAli 4 years ago
Yeah that would get you into the 2nd overtone, but does not explain the lower notes. It is more likely that they bit down on the reed.

Wow. I have a hard time doing high notes period. I just started playing bassoon last year.
I also hate how everyone makes fun of the fact that it's also called a fagot, but oh well, they're haters. (:

I need to make it to High Eb or so (on treble clef) for Flight of the Bumblebee. What notes were those that you were playing? Nice job by the way. :)
