on a side note, she speaks very fast (which is good):
One of 2 possibilities either she processes informations very fast and is thus very sharp or she memorizes very well and that is how she made it and excelled through school
It {subclass} par 1 Y=X let 1 be 67 OK GOTO class output on Vector C of 9 This snippet of code allows us to oversee the basic methodologies used in modern software premises on a ANSI scale. It supplements the characteristics of Hardware conversion in real world applications.
Also, there are transcripts of each of the lectures at the Stanford web site which makes it easier to understand what she is saying...but even the transcriber often has problems in understanding her.
Just want to add that she said, a couple of times, that she knew she spoke too fast and kept asking her students if she was speaking too fast. It seems to me that she should strive to speak more clearly and more slowly so everyone can understand her. Being an educator at one of the top universities she needs to work on her ability to communicate properly. Even after I massaged her audio, slowed it down, took out background noise..she was obviously slurring words..speech impediment?
I have discovered that, after saving this video using Replay Media Capture, then modifying the audio using Audacity by removing noise, then changing the speed by slowing it down by 20%, and using the high pass filter, that she is almost intelligible sometimes. You can also, if you use something like Replay Media Capture to save the video, then you can play it back more slowly by using VLC media player which lets you slow down the audio and video. It is better, though, to use Audacity as I said.

Really great lectures! You can even download the course reader from the website. Two thumbs up for her. Thanks for sharing. I think it would be better using the standard c++ libraries and it's a shame that Stanford didn't think about *nix users.I wanted to follow it and do the assignments too but they don't compile with g++. Maybe it has something to do with their custom libraries.
@cranil i could use Code Blocks or Eclipse or just do what i usually do and use a text editor. the problem is with the CS106CPPLib.lib. it would be nice of them to release the source code.(hint hint).
to those saying she needs to calm down... her fast speaking is the process of a brain hindered by a body. she's clearly so smart that she can't even talk fast enough!
has anybody used that stanford library in Visual Studio 2010? I include it and import in project, but i cant run the program. I always get error on function "GetInteger" and others...
she speaks very fast which kind of makes u a little bit confused and by the time u start understanding something wht she is trying to teach and sometimes u are in the middle of no where but what impresses me is her enthusiasm and commitment to make u learn ....
I'm up to lecture 20, and I thought she slowed down. She does slow down a small bit, but it is more I get used to her speaking pace. It is a fine pace, she speaks fast but very clear, and with online videos it is easy to go back to review if you missed what she says. Great intro class to C++ and using and writing data structures (ADT), and OOP. The slides can be a bit fuzzy, download them as pdf google for "stanford see programming abstractions"
Being "curious and ask questions" helps in any subject one needs learns.
I am a bit worried when it is taught at starting courses that math/logic is not important in a engineering discipline and then go on to claim other engineering discipline do not need abstract thinking in the same was as computer science. This indicate and ignorance of general engineering methodologies and principles or a believe that such methods are exclusive to computer science. Such claims are of course utter nonsense.

@FrankRizzo6662 Maybe. But I speak 4 languages and I think you only one. For a native english person is very natural to undersatand it, you dont have to think about it. This is the reason we need to talk and listen more slowly.
My native languages are spanish and catalonian. I think I know pretty well at least my own languages. 2 in this case, more than you. I think you forgot a word in your message: " but ". You can't even writte in your own language. This is a ridiculous discussion.
That's the difference between C++ lectures and VB lectures (if such things exist at all...) : C++ names and identifiers are often so small that one says them really fast. Compare pronouncing "int Main" to "Public Shared Sub Main()", and you get the idea.
