man, all i can get in the us are ugly compound bows covered in pulleys, and when i find a nice wooden bow they are always extremely expensive. i have to stick to a recurved compound until i can get something offline or save up enough to buy something carved here.
@xinexer you can mage your own long bow... there r planty of you tube vidoes on how to or you can just google longbow usa or something on the net i am sure you will find something
Wow, that's wicked. Meaning, wicked how you can draw a bow to 34", despite your medium height. I'm 5'9", and my absolute draw length is around 33", I'd say. Respect!
nice stuff! i've never shot a bow over about 85# so i'm watching the way you draw really high over the top of your head, for technique and strength. nice tune for background music too, what is it?
i see the black thing on the lower limb, i read that its holding some laminate together, also idk if anybody else saw it but it looks like the lower limb is bending a little more, btw nice shooting
its quite possible the lower limb is bending more than the top which may be the reason the hickory split. also i think the black exaggerates the bend in the vid
i think it may also be because i am over drawing the bow in the vid . the bow was designed to be drawn to 32" i'm drawing it further than 32"
the black on the lower limb is linen serving thread covered in superglue whipped around the width, because there is a split in the hickory laminate of the bow.
@xinexer If you have not fond a bowyer I recommend Ted Fry at Raptor Archery. He is an excellent bowyer.

Hey ratty great video. Great bow as well. But one question. What is the black thing on the lower limb?
NewFoundArchery 3 years ago
hello newfoundarchery
the black on the lower limb is linen serving thread covered in superglue whipped around the width, because there is a split in the hickory laminate of the bow.
