  • Madame Rocks!!!

  • I love Madame, she rocks!

  • What a cute funny character I had completely forgotten about.

  • When I was a kid, I would flip through the channels and see a skit with Madame on Solid Gold, and almost forget that she wasn't Lady Elaine Fairchild! Come to think of it, if you crossed Lady Elaine Fairchild with Bea Arthur (RIP).......

  • Oh Man! I'm 42 yrs. old, and this shit is bringin back such memories. Neil Sedaka.. I talked to him on the phone! Hey I knew someone who knew someone. He was sweet. Sorry Neil If I "f'd" up ur name. I'm drunk 4 the first time in bout 10 yrs.!Lol, Damn! All u young people! The stories we could share! See. I'm a cool mom, who goes with the times. Music is my life and I instill it in my son who's 20 now. That boy can ROCK! I'm proud. My dream is for him 2 hear me sing! Always been afraid.Props.?

  • LadySakurra you are way too funny! I remember Madame on Solid Gold also. This really brings back memories!

  • 5:08, is he the guy from the movie adaptation of A Chorus Line? And I love Madame. She's a true knockout.

  • Actually BOTH Tony and Alex were in "A Chorus Line - The Movie". Tony landed the role of Al DeLuca, while Alex was an auditioner.

  • Madam is not buried with Waylan. She is in a puppet museum in Atlanta.

  • I know that Waylan had many different Madame puppets and the part about her being buried with him is pretty much now an "urban legend" and part of that legend is that the one buried with him was the "first" Madame.

  • MADAME has a new handler now,and will be Re-starting her shows =)P I was saddened to learn her creator WAYLAND FLOWERS DIED OF AIDS in 1988-Something like that U would expect from the 1990's-NOT the 1980's!

  • I don't know why you'd say "Something like that U would expect from the 1990's-NOT the 1980's!". AIDS cases and deaths started being reported in 1980 and most people diagnosed with the disease were only given about 2 years to live since they had no way of testing to diagnose the it that once they figured it out, you were pretty much gone. By the 1990's it was a full scale world threat.

  • Most of the 1980s news i heard on radio or on the tv was all about the drugs like Cocaine on the streets,Proof that Everyone was doing it-especialy the movie stars and famous COMEDIANS(Poor ROBIN WILLIAMS,Listen to his album Before he got married) got hooked on it-But that AIDS thing?-I was referring to EARLY 1980s,I didnt see anything of AIDS until 1990 MARC WALLICE AIDS SCARE-

  • @OLDSCHOOLHHSEX Well, I remember seeing headlines about a "New Gay Cancer" as early as 1982 or 1983. Incidentally, Rock Hudson died in 1985, being the 1st international celebrity to acknowledge their illness and "gave a face" to the disease,.

  • When U say "Gave a face" to the AIDS DISEASE,Thats why I didnt know all that much about it back then...news like that DIDNT circulate very well in those 1980s Jr high transfers to high schools-ROCK HUDSON was famous,Yes,But lot of my younger generation didnt have much interrest in his films-Or more specificly-HOW did he got caught with that horrible disease?

  • @OLDSCHOOLHHSEX Basically up until the point when Rock Hudson came forward people had heard about it, new it was spreading but didn't know anyone that had been affected by it. He was the macho "ladies man" from the 50 & 60's so when he came forward - he also outed himself because at that time "only gays got it". He was the 1st person the international public could now say they "knew" somebody who got AIDS. A horrible to be associated with for eternity.

  • I really did like madame. and Marilyn Mccoo aslways sobeautiful her and her husband sing my favorite duet ; you don't have to be a star!!!!!

  • Ah, Tony...*sigh*...but Madame was FAB-U-LOUS!! Talent, Talent, Talent!!!

  • Agreed, Tony = *sigh*

  • Madame = Goddess

  • I enjoyed Madame and Wayland Flowers on Solid Gold! You really made my Sunday afternoon after I watched that skit! Too bad Madame couldn't leave on without Wayland!

  • MADAME has a new handler now-She will continue her shows-Whether or not the NEW GUY can do WAYLAND FLOWERS personality of MADAME, remains to be seen-Lot like how how those Animatronic shows from SHOWBIZ PIZZA with those robots went downhill when they was changed to CHUCK E.CHEEZE-That Oldschool QUALITY IS GONE-Same goes for how film-cartoon Re-makes with that CGI 3-D ruins our classics

  • i was a kid when i watched this show, 'n this puppet alwaze scared the CRAP out of me...still does...

  • LOL! She always cracked me up!

  • i was a little kid when this was on too, and she scared me as well. she was funny, but scary-funny.

  • Paul Williams scared me as a little kid. so did she.

  • thanks, excellent answer :-)

  • You're welcome! ;-)

  • I would like to answer you about seasons, but I am not a solid gold dancer, sorry, but 3 seasons I guess ( not sure about it )and no idea who was the madame's voice

  • Wayland was the man who worked the puppet AND did the voice of known to the world as Madame.

  • Ok...first lbCharmed, I am officially back!

As in how long Waylon Flowers and Madame lasted on SG, Seasons 1-4. I thought it was so funny when Madame would flirt with Tony and Alex.

During Season 4, Madame had her own "radio station" on SG called "K-Droop."

  • Welcome back!

OK - but she wasn't on during the entire season 1 and I don't think she was there for the entire season 4, either (am I wrong?). So would that be about 3 seasons, give or take a few episodes? Just trying to clarify . . .

  • every time she talks with the solid gold dancers they just have to stand there and smile and take her funny comments about them

  • Well the dancers didn't actually start having speaking rolls til season 5. That's one good thing Rick Dees added.

  • sorry, that should be "speaking roles" - my English is going down the toilet . . .

  • funny

  • excellent xmas gift, something different and original you are a professional fan, How many seasons was madame in SG tv show and who was behind her?

  • Madame was on for about 3 seasons. If you see the intro you will see "Wayland Flowers & Madame". Wayland was the other half of the "dou". Wayland died in 1988 at the age of 49 and supposedly Madame is buried with him.

  • Actually, Joe Kovacs brought back Madame in July 2006 in a play called "A Comeback For Abroad."

  • Ah, that sassy, brassy, crassy Madame! Thanks for posting!

  • Hey Lana2k6, it's been a while, good to see you!! And you're welcome!
