You can tell he's obviously not in good health in this interview. I believe he died shortly after this was filmed? He was and always be a legend. I love his character, Mr. Furley. RIP Don Knotts.
When you're old, your health begins to go downhill from there. Don Knotts was like 80 years old in this video. He live long enough to collect his social security checks! That's a good thing.
Yeah, I agree. The interviewer wasn't great. I think maybe his timidity comes from a desire to minimize his part in the interview, i.e., let Don have all the spotlight, but it kind of comes across as boredom. I kind of got the impression that Don was uncomfortable.
I'm sorry...but could you not have gotten an interviewer that was a fan of Don Knotts? I assume he is not a fan because his questions and tone of voice lacks any enthusiasm. There were SO MANY things to talk about during the "Three's Company" conversation yet it was approached very timidly. A more experienced and personable interviewer would have been better for this wonderful comedic legend.

Don Knotts was born July,21,1924 and died February 24, 2006. Good stuff they don't make them like him anymore.

Amazing John Ritter passed before him. That still trips me out a little.
