It would do you good to know as well that of the 33 million HIV/AIDS cases around the world, 22.96 million reside in the continent of Africa (12.5 million of who are women). However, that # is dramatically skewed by the fact that 49% of that 19% is African American. Consider that only 12.9% of the U.S. population is Black, the overall per cent of the lgbt community with AIDS that is black is just stunningly high.

It would do you good to know as well that of the 33 million HIV/AIDS cases around the world, 22.96 million reside in the continent of Africa (12.5 million of who are women). Also, the vast majority of those infected in Africa are heterosexual. To refuse to see HIV/AIDS as a major problem for people of color, is to assure grave consequences.

HIV is most likely a mutated form of Simian Immunodeficiency Virus, a disease present only in chimpanzees & African monkeys, which apparently made the jump to humans as these bloodied animals were handled by Africans when hunting for food.
