I have the same speakerset and this happens when the subwoofer cant get rid of it's air, if you have the music not very loud and you cover the 2 air pipes at the back, it will start making this sounds too, i think it's just a production error or something, they should've tought about that better!
@hihitv I think its quite ingenious as the two pipes in the back lead directly over the power converter helping to keep it cool. However the braces inside the cabinet were meerly glued in place (I added wood screws on the inside for added support) and if they come loose make a hell of a racket.
@hihitv if you pop the covers off and remove the subs, you have a very good view of the inside of the cabinet. There are small triangular braces(3 per side) which were held in place with some sort of glue (assuming this was from the manufacture as the box did not look tampered with) however due to aging and vibrations, a couple of them had broke loose on one side. As such when you turned the volume up, the sides would vibrate more and rattle against these loose braces.
This is flat-out the best computer sub woofer made. The ADA995 that I own will shake the entire house. I don't know what your problem is ,but you're more that likely square-waving the amplifier Einstein.
@GamerSilva94 it does, and rightfully so. Granted this set looks to be quite abused and worn out. Sad as they are slowly fadig into the void of forgotten greatness, but I have the same set and have never ceased to be amazed.
ada995 (which is this speaker) will blow ada885 away: much louder, much more bass, better mids&highs... just a better speaker system overall (except connectivity).
I bought these speakers with a new dell computer. The right front speaker does not work. I think this is a great sounding speaker system but very poor quality.

@hihitv as for the way it sounded, it was more of a rattle, I think this set is just being overpowered (I never turn the boost knob over half way)

No it's where the coil inside the speaker starts to hit the wall of the magnet thing =0 eventually they will blow up because it becomes warped.
In other words I just pushed them to hard
