The collateral damage to building 7 by the North Tower would in itself be unable to bring down building 7 in such a symmetrical way. Random fires burning at random intensities are also unable to cause a building to collapse so symmetrically. Additionally, there is not official explanation as to how come there was molten steel found in the basements of buildings 1,2, and 7, but not buildings 3,4,5 and 6. Then there is the issue that it collapsed in 7 seconds, straight down - completely!

@shermanr6 Between the rescue and the recovery operations, I'd say that just about all 11,000 firefighters and fire officers, on the FDNY then, worked at the site at some point. Many of them have very serious health issues now, and some have since died. Of the 2,753 deaths that day, the FD lost 343 of their own. Are you suggesting that they are all keeping mum? WTC 7 was built over Consolidated Edison (Con Ed), a simple google search will show how Transfer trusses used on the 5–7th floors were used to redistribute load to the foundation.
To compare this building to other buildings of the same height is crazy.

The collateral damage to building 7 by the North Tower would in itself be unable to bring down building 7 in such a symmetrical way. Random fires burning at random intensities are also unable to cause a building to collapse so symmetrically. Additionally, there is not official explanation as to how come there was molten steel found in the basements of buildings 1,2, and 7, but not buildings 3,4,5 and 6. Then there is the issue that it collapsed in 7 seconds, straight down - completely!

Many of them have very serious health issues now, and some have since died. Of the 2,753 deaths that day, the FD lost 343 of their own. Are you suggesting that they are all keeping mum? By the way, promotions on the FDNY are gained though competitive examination, administered by DCAS and a list is promulgated. Members hold civil service positions and are union members. Until fairly recently, even the Chief of Department position was through competitive examination, but it was felt that that was not the most effective way to chose that position.

@threepercenter03 Well what are you here for then? To learn perhaps. Here's a tidbit for you about steel from my copy of the Fire Protection Handbook ( published by the NFPA) is an old edition. (14th edition) I'll quote from section 6-75. "Unprotected steel trusses and open web joists are particularly vunerable to elevated temperatures of a fire. An exposed joist system, for example, may collapse after only 5 or 10 minutes of exposure."

@threepercenter03 From O'Hagan's book, he talks about the One NY Plaza fire(Aug. 5, 1970) "..heat penetrated the steel, causing rapid expansion of the 12" floor beams. Since the floor beams are fastened to each other or to the main girders, there is no space for them to move laterally. They can move in a downward direction since there is no support below them, and this is the direction they take. @threepercenter03 Con't...leading to considerable distortion and the shearing off of the 3/4" connection bolts. Since this occurred over a wide area ( something in excess of 150 steel beams had to be removed and replaced), we discovered serious vertical deflections of over a foot in some beams. Eventually over 20,000 sq. ft. of concrete flooring had to be removed & replaced....The first consideration given was to the stability of the building and safety of the firefighting force...
